Amanda Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 In honour of Megan. Please do feel free to post links to the worst possible songs and music you have ever heard.
ilikekicks Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Miss Amanda.. you have just kicked a bee's hive! There are some things others call ' music ' that I call a " drum machine and someone talking $hit ". Theres not much human element involved in it. Too many links to post but.. Sorry for wasting a few seconds of everyones lives here if you click on these links.. In the ' rock ' category... Proof that ' country music ' really is ' inbred ' ( made from the same subjects all the time )! : REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
Amanda Posted December 18, 2014 Author Posted December 18, 2014 Oh hello Ilik, fancy meeting you here
Heelster Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Hey ILK - - Do you know what you get when you play Country Music backwards???? - Your wife back - Your dog back - Your truck back - Your trailer back - - - - etc.
meganiwish Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 McArthur Park! You spoil us. How can I top that? Well, I'll give you Terry Jacks and Seasons in the Sun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YG9otasNmxI I'm impressed at how in the end at the end it keeps raising the pitch till you think it might never end, for dogs at least.
Amanda Posted December 20, 2014 Author Posted December 20, 2014 Megan I've heard that one before and I agree that is truly awful. Now I have to admit I had some help finding this one after having mentioned tasteless songs to a friend: Gosh that makes me feel so broody! Of course this would come after you had your wife, trailer, dog etc back.
meganiwish Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Gosh, you do set the bar high. That song makes one feel that the rehabilitation of murderers is morally wrong as they could be socially useful as they are. I can only reply with this from my youth. This should put you off prospective motherhood, lest you be responsible for something similar. With mine I feel I dodged a bullet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rttRely_cEs How thoughtful of him to provide a vivid memory of morning sickness.
Shyheels Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Hmmm. Tried posting links but it didn't take... Anyway... Muskrat Love by The Captain and Tennille Spiders and Snakes by Jim Stafford The Tennessee Bird Walk by Misty Morgan and Jack Blanchard These should make anyone's short list...
Amanda Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 Megan I couldn't do the whole song. That is so painful. Thankfully it's not catchy at all. And shyheels that's too many bad songs for one posting. No ones ever going to manage them all one after the other. You should really try and keep your powder dry. Though who am I to say your not?. I managed muskrat love I'll try one of the others this evening. Here's one to be getting on with:
nyenor Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Rolf Harris (should I mention his name?) had a song that I cannot recall the title of but it was basically about a blind child. I thought that pretty sick. Over my (too) many years of listening to 'music' the list of horrors is too long to mention. Most things recorded since about 2000 are absolute crap. Who 'invented' rap?
meganiwish Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Ah but, Nyenor, the whole point of rap is that we're too old to like it. Shyheels, like Amanda I couldn't take it at one sitting. I needed a doggy bag, as it were. Now, I feel that we should be aiming at those that are truly excruciating, in the original sense. You've got to squirm, and just when you think it can't get worse... For this, of course, one needs there to be no trace of irony. Children are a good way of doing it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsXJcIODLtQ
Amanda Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 That's truly wretched Meg. It forced me to delve deeper into the subject and to seek more advice. Here is today offering:
meganiwish Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Well, let's go for site specific. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0mTRiZGvvw Now suppose you had William Shatner speaking Honor Blackman's lines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0mTRiZGvvw (I hope you don't mind me doing a bit of advertising, Amanda, but my thread's bombing. In fact, it's worse than that, it's dead, Jim. Roll up chaps, and post some links.)
Amanda Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Megan that song you posted above is in my opinion quite tasteful and has no place in this thread. In fact I'm going to ask one of the mods if we can have it removed as soon as possible. You might not agree but I believe this deserves a place here: Where is your thread and what's the matter with it? Help me on with these boots and we'll go and see if it can be rescued :-) xx
ilikekicks Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Good god I hate the Beatles. Too many bland songs. They would have fit in with the trash from the 80's and 90's quite well. REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
meganiwish Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Oh, come on, ILK, don't sit on the fence Yes, totally bland. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS0wuN_6wyw This one is particularly bland https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gR9JMwzxybE And Ringo was a rubbish drummer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-Q9D4dcYng because any fool can make drums sound like thunder rolling around the hills. Anyway, not wishing to derail, here's one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9-42mu1D9Y Oh good, it's a live version I've found. Clock the time at the bottom. I do hope you like drums.
nyenor Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Among the worst songs ever recorded are any with the word 'Christmas' in them. Yes people, I'm one of those miserable bastards that cannot stand anything the day stands for. I'll bet that makes me popular!!
meganiwish Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 This one doesn't have the word ' Christmas' but still https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28p0jUMEu_E
Bikergoth Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 How about Mr Blobby? (Not that sure how to do links...) Some people I know remain traumatised to this day, having been bought this when they were kids - It's truly bloody awful. Merry Christmas one & all...
Heelster Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I have to agree that The Beatles were highly over rated. They had a couple tunes I can tolerate, but I never had an album of theirs. Another band that just doesn't do anything for me is The Rolling Stones. Don't know why, but they always made my stomach churn. I'll refrain from posting what I think is awful as it tends to be on someone elses top ten.
Amanda Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 How about Mr Blobby? (Not that sure how to do links...) Some people I know remain traumatised to this day, having been bought this when they were kids - It's truly bloody awful. Merry Christmas one & all... Just for you :-) xxx
Bikergoth Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 I would normally say 'thanks' Miss Amanda, but this time I'm honestly not sure. It seems somewhat criminal to force this link onto the other members of this site, (especially over the festive season) - we could be responsible for ruining the celebrations for countless people! It is complete & utter dross though. Just had a rather amusing thought - ILK, do you think you could you cover it & do it as a future 'name that tune?' (Bikergoth sits back grinning with another beer to await the fallout!)
Amanda Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 It seems somewhat criminal to force this link onto the other members of this site, (especially over the festive season) - we could be responsible for ruining the celebrations for countless people! Lol well it was your idea! here's one to cheer you up :-)
meganiwish Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 I wondered how long until Agadoo came up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NemkBVSnUt0
nyenor Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Surely 'Tiny Tim' has to feature in here somewhere. I've often wondered if the rumour that he wore rubber gloves to go to the toilet because he did not touching 'a certain part of his body' were true.
ilikekicks Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 Just had a rather amusing thought - ILK, do you think you could you cover it & do it as a future 'name that tune?' (Bikergoth sits back grinning with another beer to await the fallout!) Only if Miss Amanda will start participating in the ' Name that tune ' threads that I post up. Send me the song in a private message and I will see what I can do. Cheers! -ILK REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
meganiwish Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 This isn't much fun https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSNSTerj2Kc
Amanda Posted December 28, 2014 Author Posted December 28, 2014 This isn't much fun Thanks Megan. Now I'm being frowned at by almost everyone in the airport lounge.
