mlroseplant
. . . for three weeks anyway. We're heading to Vietnam in just a few hours, and to honor my wife's wishes, I will be wearing flatties there. I do hope to get some great pictures, as we haven't seen the family for two years, and Hanoi is a good place to spot some very lovely women wearing some pretty doggoned tall heels. JeffB
Well, have a safe and happy trip. Don't forget to bring back postcards! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!

Bubba136
That was quick. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
mlroseplant
That was quick. It didn't FEEL very quick! Doorstep to doorstep, it took us about 32 hours to get here, 19 of which were actually spent flying. It's a relatively quick, but brutal way to travel. Tonight at midnight (GMT +7) is the Lunar New Year, known in Vietnam as Tết. It's the most exciting time of the year to be in Vietnam.
ilikekicks
I need to ask.. Is Saigon still named Ho Chi Mhin city? REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE.
mlroseplant
I need to ask.. Is Saigon still named Ho Chi Mhin city? It is. Although Saigon is still in popular usage in the vernacular.
SF
It will always be Saigon to me... "Why should girls have all the fun!!"
mlroseplant
I tend to call it Saigon to the older generation, and HCMC to the younger. Either way, nobody even raises an eyebrow either way. It's just a name. Even to this day, the 3 letter airport code for the southern city is SGN. Go figure.
