Well I finally was able to have another public outing. It was my second in public but I can really call it my first (as the first one was to a casino which was dark and loud so I felt safe) but since reading all the stories on this site finally got the courage to try again. I wore a pair of boots similiar to the ones in my avitar but were black. Till coming across this site, I have always only looked at shoes -never thought of boots. But after reading stories on this site -have become more of a fan of boots and seems to be easier for me to wear in public that shoes. So finally to the story. This past weekend I had to go to a larger city which was about 6 hours away from where I live and had to go alone, So I was able to wear my heels all the way there as I drove. I stopped for gas, went to a mall and walked it several times, went to the food court, checked into a hotel all wearing them. It was such a great feeling. It was nice because I knew that there was a very very small chance that I would run into anyone so felt safe. I never had any problems. I did see some looks down but no one said a word. But just wanted to share as if it was not for you I would never have done it.

yorktoncso, This is just an educated guess but did you travel from Yorkton, Sask. to Calgary, Alta.? Sounds like your trip went well! HappyinHeels

yorktonsko, Glad that you enjoyed yourself wearing heels. The more you wear heels, the more comfortable you will become wearing them. Just go out and wear them and have fun!!!!!! Happy Heeling, bluejay

Yorktonsko, They are all right. I wear a pair of boots with a 3" heel every day at work. I do all my running around town do sales calls with them. It gets easier every time.

Congratulations on your outing. I too love boots, but generally keep the heel partly covered by trousers. Today I got a little more adventourous and wore blue jeans, with the bottom turned up by about 4" showing the whole heel, but also my ane boots. I felt even more comfortable wearing them that way around town than partly covered and only one person I noticed even looked down. It is always a thrill and thanks for sharing

Well done - I look forward to the day when I will feel confident enough to do the same!

congratulations, normale nobody wil say anything, certainly not direct to you. Even my neighbours do not say a single word. A few weeks ago I wore 5 inch black boots with 3/4 inch platform - partly hidden under pants - and we just talked about holidays, the childeren andso on. Not a single word about my heels, that were sertainly in view. HeelinF

Well done for stepping out in style yorktoncso. It's always great to hear about the excitement of another early adventure... inspiring for those who've not taken that step yet, and a warm glow of nostalgia for those who have. Wishing you many more successful trips.

If you like it, wear it.

Congrats on stepping out again. I know the first couple of times are tough but the more you go out you will feel more comfortable.

Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. If it was not for finding this wonderful site and all of you it never would have happened. Already planning the next outing.
