roniheels Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Those are really pretty and sexy. Thank you for sharing this with us.
pussyinboots Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 My thanks as well. Really stunning boots - and the style of the heels is amazingly advanced for c1900...! "Good Girls keep diaries....Bad Girls just don't have the time...!:icon_twisted:"
thighhighguy Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Thanks for sharing those amazing crotch boots with us, at the turn of the century there were some fantastic leather thighboots about.
yozz Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Thanks for the picture. I would love to have a pair like that. Y. Raise your voice. Put on some heels.
iloveboots Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Great looking Boots, awesome find "Dress For Your Own Pleasure"
at9 Posted May 21, 2011 Author Posted May 21, 2011 Makes you wonder what else lurks in museum stores. Museums are a bit like icebergs, only 10% is visible above the surface. The V&A has a huge costume collection which must contain some interesting stuff. There were quite a few stunning shoes and boots from earlier times. A few are in this book which ought to be an essential item on the shelves of all HHP members: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Shoes-Linda-OKeefe/dp/0761101144/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1305959139&sr=1-2 I'm sure a few of us would like a pair like the one at LACMA. They actually look quite wearable too. Lacing them up would take a while:smile:
Thighbootguy Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 They really are very nice boots. If you look closely you will notice they are lace up boots with no speed hooks or zippers. It was a real commitment to wear them. Here are a couple of other vintage crotch high boot pics: http://whatmenreallysayaboutwomen.com/flyonthewall/archives/46 http://www.life.com/image/50594608 http://www.life.com/image/50594607 I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
JeffB Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 WOW! Amazing boots, especially for the time in question! Looks like there had been some pretty progressive designers back in the day! Incredible! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
