  1. why, why, why? one can have a modest wallet with plastic and notes in one pocket with some shrapnel floating around in the bottom, a phone with plenty of apps (if needed) in a back pocket and a set of keys and a hanky if needed in the other pocket - as I do.

I have a small satchel style bag as I commute on a bicycle which usually carries a just lunch box and a couple of files OR a lap top when needed for work.....that's it......do we really, honestly need all this tech and detritus in our lives?

Exactly how I feel, but..... even people like me who embrace the stoneage carry a trackphone for emergency calls, a wallet over-stuffed with membership cards, appointment cards, credit cards, ID cards (note I didn't mention cash - lol) and such along with my ecig and supplies (yes, I embraced some new tech in favor of the old) and the super-sized computer car key that takes up an entire pocket all by itself.. . Couple that with the fact that I wear women's jeans for the fit and cut and have to accept the small pockets made so because women usually carry everything in their purses anyway and wham! I'm actually considering one of these ridiculous contraptions... lol

  2. I'm with jwhite44 on this. I wear high heeled boots despite the fact that there's no peer pressure to do so whatsoever. I do so because I like them and just about every woman I know who wears heels likes doing so as well. How do I know this? They spot my well concealed high heeled boots and strike up conversations with me. As far as office dress codes go, we all have to make adjustments, but I've never seen one that specified a minimum heel height for women? If anything, I'd like an apology from all the morons in the world who think it's their personal duty to comment on what others choose to wear. By morons, I'm refering to the fools on the street that throw negative comments, not anyone here. lol Charlie

  3. I have no experience living in the UK so I couldn't make a direct comparison if I wanted to. Judging from what I'm reading here, it sounds like it's the same all over to one degree or another. Charlie

  4. The very fact that it was even worthy of this thread title totally says that you find shoes more important than your own daughter! Can you imagine how she would feel if she read this?

IMHO, the only thing thats sad is that you put your daughter second to inanimate objects...

One could say it's a pointless endeavor but then again we're talking about stilletos here.. lol

  5. I recently got engaged (no ring yet though!) and I'm in two minds what to do. My boyfriend wants us to run off to Paris and grab a couple of cheroot smoking peasants off the street as witnesses. I want the big white wedding with a couple of bridesmaids and a pair of white (or silver) pigalles.

Elementary! Run off to Paris and grab a couple of bridesmaids for a medium white wedding and a pair of the white or silver pigalles!

I'm the Henry Clay of my time... lol

  6. DON'T YOU THINK I WOULD HAVE TRIED SEARCHING THAT?

    GUESS WHAT? I DID!

As I have stated now for the THIRD damn time. I put in what is in the vid description on both Shoes of Hollywood's site and snaz75's site. Both returned back nothing that looked like these....

You at least need to EARN the right to scream at people who you're asking for help when you've clearly done so little to answer your own question... It only took me one google search to find what you're looking for..

Personally, I like these better, but don't shoot your eye out....

  7. I have not flown since 9/11. Everyone tells me that you should wear shoes that you can take off and put on easily. The first shoes that come to mind are pumps.

For those men who have worn high heels when they fly, does anyone hassle you for wearing high heels as you go through the check points? Does anyone say anything to you on the plane during flight?

I always wear 3" to 3 1/2" heeled ankle boots when I fly. After 9-11, I automatically take them off (ankle boots make this easy!) and pass them through the scanner as my boot styles of choice always involve thick chunky heels where all kinds of nasties could be housed in the eyes of airport security. I don't blame them since the case of the nut who tried to light a bomb wick where the bomb was in the over-sized sole of his shoe..

  8. I wear "women´s" jeans more than "men´s" these days - they are usually more comfortable and better fitting due to a little stretch. Lots of women´s shoes - not counting the high heels which are for private use only, I have several pairs of flat knee boots and ankle boots that I wear routinely including to work (although under jeans). Other pieces include leggings (mostly under jeans on cold winter days), smart trousers, shorts, pullovers, coats. I sometimes borrow stuff from my wife. So yes. lots.

I really don´t think people notice or care unless it really is obviously an item made for women.

With long enough jeans, they don't notice 4" heeled ladies or men's boots either as long as you don't struggle at all in them. The men's boots are the cowboyusa 4" heeled underslung western boots I have btw..

  9. I hate tucking in shirts like turtle necks or mock turtlenecks so I buy women's extra large in these styles. They are shorter in the torso which works great for me because being 5'6" (barefoot) they come down just past my waist and don't look ridiculous untucked. Men's styles that fit me in the shoulder hang down below my butt.. Apart from that, they're no different than men's except that the material is a little softer. I don't own a pair of men's jeans as there are too few cut choices and I like to wear them long over my high heeled boots so as to not draw anymore attention than I'd draw wearing sneakers. My regular choice is bootcut or flared ladies jeans that are snug around the butt and thighs, but with people worrying about dress codes these days at the office (gagging..), I recently bought some ladies 'trouser' jeans. This was a first for me. They fit just like a pair of trousers. I got them in black and they're very dressy looking! I wore them to work today with my 3" heeled size 11 women's Harley Davidson boots and with them I wore a navy blue women's turtleneck shirt. It was kind of amusing as I was techically in 'drag' and yet didn't stand out when compared to any other guy in the office. That's about it for me on a typical work day. On the weekend I prefer guys casual shirts like Nike sport shirts for casual wear and always wear those women's jeans that I've retired from work-wear due to fading. I still wear high heeled boots when it's practical and regular old boring guy footwear when it's not. It really depends on what I'm doing. Charlie

  10. "Never mind darling, you've been passed over for that £150,000 but hey, you can still wear heels whenever you like!"

This made me think back to around 25 years ago when I attempted to secure a higher position in the company I was working for at the time and the decision came down between myself and one other candidate out of a field of around 10. I remember telling myself that if I didn't get it, life would still be good because I still had my motorcycle to ride around. I lost out and having the motorcycle didn't help at all. Had I been wearing heels then, it wouldn't have made me feel any better to know I could keep wearing them either. I agree that anyone saying the above to anyone else would be of questionable character and/or mental development.

  11. When you are brought up that all feminine incl. heels is for women and a man is never to wear that, whose fault is that? Most children are brought up by their mothers. They introduce the machismo with the assistance of the father in latter stages.

I wasn't saying that there's no reason for the way men pressure themselves to conform to this ridiculous standard that we've arrived at, just that they do. In my opinion, you're largely correct.

  12. You would hope that these bloody advertisers who write their own google ad's would realise by now the adverts work far better if you make then gender neutral. Exclude nobody, sell to everybody. Morons :silly:

I see the same kind of thing with the new ecig ads all over American TV these days.. They show a bunch of obviously non-smokers puffing on ecigs.. It looks ridiculous and demonstrates that in general advertisers are.. well.. morons.. LOL

If I were in the woman's shoe/boot business one thing I'd make very clear on my website would be discrete packaging. Very few do this and I'm certain it hurts sales as not all guys can be home when the package arrives and many don't want anyone else in the household to know what they've bought..

  13. Anyone ever seen a dude in heels working at Gucci, Louboutin, Walter Steiger, Lanvin, Dior, Chanel, Bally, Balenciaga, Choo, Versace, D&G, Fendi, Vuitton, Gina, Lacroix, Givenchy, Ferragamo or any of the others?

No, but when the higher platform shoes for guys were briefly trying to make a comeback at Aldo shoes in the local mall, one of the guys there wore the highest ones they had. I just knew that he had women's shoes and/or boots in his collection as well. I gave him a thumbs up!
