  1. The U.S. position on matters was making good sense until I heard GWB refer to Iran, Iraq, and North Korea as "The axis of evil". Nothing like drawing a line in the sand! We all should be encouraging these nations that the world is a better place when we work and play well with one another! Name calling just pisses people off. I also think it's way too early to judge if the New Afgan government is going to work out or not. I sure hope it does. Charlie

  2. I'm in 100% agreement with Rand. In addition, TOS was certainly less refined as the later series, but so was I as a teenager. TNG plots were a quantam leap (pun intended seeing Scott Bakula is the star in "Enterprise") ahead of those of TOS, but both TOS and TNG certainly mirrored the issues of their respective times. All in all, how can anybody not like TOS episode where Kirk fights that lizard dude!? Charlie

  3. I have to say that I totally agree with Calv's assesment of the entire situation. There is no "fashion God" who dictates daily what us men can wear. Our worst enemy is ourselves! It is the fear of any hint of femininity that drives men's fashions closer and closer to wearing only burlap bags and workboots! I think the vast majority of us guys can recall having that horrible "feminine" label being used against us by our fathers whenever they thought we should be a bit tougher. That's where this mindset starts. Charlie

I need some more 4" heeled styles in the collection............................

  5. Well, I like my pants long and flared at the bottom. I can't subscribe to theory that this look is "girly" as these are the only styles of pants I wore as a teenager in the 70's. I refuse to let "bellbottoms" slip away to "women's only"!!!! Heck, my father and his shipmates all had them as standard issue uniforms during the 2nd world war! My heels are usually completely covered. I prefer this look. This was the look I fell in love with in the 70's. On some days I wear pant lengths that let about 1 to 3 inches of heel show, but I definitely prefer the first style mentioned. Charlie

  6. I only wear women's shoes these days. Mostly the chunky-heeled boot styles. I've recently gotten into some heeled shoes/mules. I discovered the benefits of the mules during this past summer! I tend to prefer 4" heels for the most part. I have never encountered any problems at all in public with my heel wearing, by the way. Charlie

  7. September 11th was a wake-up call for the entire world. We just heard the ringing a bit better here in the U.S. We all need to understand that our respective religions likely don't corner the market on all of the right answers to what lies beyond. Because of this, tolerance should be a no-brainer. Besides, we're ALL going to get our chance to see what's there anyways! There are many here in the states claiming that Sept 11th was the cause of the slump in our economy. Personally, I think that's a load of crap. The indicators were pointing downwards well before Sept 11th. Did Sept 11th make things worse than they would have been? Yes! Will things ever be the same? Yes! The world got over two world wars. War is a waste of people and resources. If only we could sustain the creativety during peacetime... In summary, Sept 11th doesn't even come close to having the same impact. Charlie
