  1. Just a general feeling about fashion : it seems that women recently prefer "pretty" shoes with bows, thinner shoes, etc. Not only the heel make the difference with male shoes. Even regular pumps seems not to be "girlie" enough. That was different a few years ago with all the "ugly" block heels shoes.

that might be a window for men to take the block heels (and all the heeled shoes that have not these "pretty" add ons, as the heel is not anymore a mark of feminity by itself.

I was impatient and took the block heels a few years ago even though the girls were wearing them. Because of their neutrality, block heels can easily be worn by either sex IMHO.

  2. Well I had a great time at the party. Comments came from the men at the party, all very positive including my brother in law saying ''Have you got heels on, brilliant, fair play to you.

Stopped off at our local supermarket on the way home to pick a few things up on MrsFoxyheels suggestion, got to love her for giving me an extra public heeling opportunity.

Several at the party have suggested we go out in our local city centre in our outfits in a few weeks time, can't wait will probably have to wear the boots MrsF had on as I have an identical pair in my size seeing as my original boots were no problem.

    Anyway here are the pics.

The pictures really capture how much the two of you enjoy each other. I hope you have many many more years of enjoyment!

  3. I've waited 39 years for this! When the clock was counting down the last few seconds of game 7 I just couldn't believe that they actually pulled it off. Thomas was absolutely awesome in the goal. Cat-like reflexes. 2012 can come now... I feel fulfilled. LOL Charlie

  4. In the end, the school just couldn't make a case that stuck. The reacted out of shock and looked like fools in the end. It's the same fight the women faced when they donned pants. I'm not into dresses myself, but have to say that he looked good in the thing. Charlie

  5. Thanks for the advice Charlie and 5.5 Thrill.

Mine are 5 inches high and I'm only really used to wearing 2.5 inch heels out and about, so it is a big step up for me.

I've been practising around the house, moving some boxes up and down stairs, doing the dish washer and laundry, including putting the washing out on the line, and even clearing out the shed. But due to having two teenage kids (including one that's at that awkward age) it's only been once or twice a week when they are out.

Charlie, how have you been getting on with your 5" Miguel Jones boots?

When I start to make any progress, I'll post on the thread I started, but I don't want to steal KZColt's thunder here.

    Hey Rob,

It's a work in progress. Since I've been wearing my several pairs of 4" heeled ones almost exclusively now I can wear the 5" ones much longer now. I'm talking hours instead of minutes and that's with a lot of walking. The 4" heeled boots feel like gloves to my feet now though.

  6. Getting use to wearing heels by walking around in your house will surprise you when you go public. The short walks here and there inside are nothing compared to the long aisles, the walk from the car, and then the walk back when you discover you are really not ready for this.

IF you are serious about public heeling, practise at home absolutely, don't just walk around, do house work.....sweep the floor, carry laundry, move furniture, do things that force you to learn to BALANCE in your heels.

The walking will build muscles the working will build balance. Without balance the unexpected person, cart, corner, or dropped unavoidable object will put you down.

Have fun out and about in heels, doing it right makes that fun easier.

    Thrill

I can't agree more and probably should have elaborated a little better. Thanks!

  7. Until high heels are known as men's and women's shoe, this is an unfair question. A lot of factors come into play from many perspectives of heeling. Whether it's territorial, religous or social indoctrination, and/or fashion cycles, society has usurped the right of personal choice to choose one's own adornment from what their personality dictates. We have laws and rules that limit what others expect from us. This puts life kind of in a two dimensional existence. If you don't adhere to the establishment, then you are quarantined or exiled until you are deemed to be in compliance.

A movie called "Pleasantville" that came out in 1998, takes a look at a culture that existed in television land before color was achieved on the screen. People were content to live in their black and white community until they were introduced to a greater knowledge that caused them to get color in their visual experiences. At first, those that became colorful were shunned by the stalwarts of the community. Eventually, color came to everyone, but this didn't happen with out a bit of tension and strife.

Heeling for men has been put on a level of color in a black and white social attitude. Society continues to program its stereotypes into all our understanding. Those who are willing to follow their instincts from the beings they are, see the faulty parts of what they are being taught as they compare and evaluate all the truths of the color spectrum that become known to them. Heeling, on its own, is one of the visual ways a person has to express and exhibit their self-image. It is to be used freely by those who have the desire. Putting limits on choices such as these only stifles the greater potential of the person to be a better social asset. Do women like men in heels? Women haven't had enough experience with male heelers to be educated either way. Neither have men! If you knew such activities would bring happiness and help a person to better relate maturely, how could anyone continue to hold on to the present stereotypical ideas?

    Very good and insightful post!

  8. Back in the 70's when men were wearing the high-heeled "disco/platform" shoes, there were some styles that were for men, but they looked more feminine because the heel was higher and slimmer. They were very pretty and they were advertised "for men." I couldn't agree more with Histiletto. If the shoe makers knew that men preferred a more sleek, feminine high heel, this could make a big impact toward not only fashion but men's heeling.

I hear what you're saying roniheels, but I don't prefer more feminine slimmer heels. This is the essential problem someone faces when they try to make men's high heels. Who do they try to market to? Personally, if I were a shoe/boot designer, I'd be thinking that the market is well covered for those that like more feminine styled heels already. These boots/shoes are an attempt at something unique and different. One must break a few eggs to make an omelet. LOL

  9. Hi Kzcolt,

One of the best posts on here in a long time!

It is great to read your experiences. - I have a pair of Miguel Jones boots and hope to start wearing them out and about soon. As they look very masuline, I don't think I have any concerns about what people will think seeing me in them, but I don't want to wear them out until I can walk completely naturally in them and I also want to take my wife's feelings into account (she is unsure about them).

Did you show your wife this blog, and what did she have to say about it? Have you had any more comments from your wife about your boots (or anyone else you might have shown)?

Have you worn them much since? If so, it would be great to read about your experiences.

I look forward to your further posts!

(PS: UpBy5, as another new owner, I would also be interested to hear about your experiences.)

It's very easy to pull off wearing Miguel Jones boots all day and evening long. The best advice I can give would be to practice with them at home until it becomes effortless. Anyone, man or woman, who's struggling to walk in their higher heeled footwear in public tends to look a little foolish. Good luck!

  10. My thoughts as well.

The results here say that 72% believe that women like men in heels...and only 50% say that we don't.

My last wish is to upset anyone here, but it just goes to show how much denial or skewed perception there still is around this subject - the reality of the question is that 72% of women - or more - DON'T like men in high heels - and less than 50% would say that they do.

Let me just hang this in the air. How many of you guys here, have had an instant reaction of joy, elation and encouragement from your partners/wives when they have discovered that you wear high heels - and how many of you have had a real job gaining their support....?

We've discussed the acceptance of male heel wearing by women, at great length, but it still seems that some folks don't want to see the truth of it. Had this Poll been taken on any normal High Street then (sadly) the results would definitely be the reverse of what we see here.

The fact that as little 200 years ago, man were regularly seen in heels simply doesn't register in today's so called 'open-minded' society....perhaps because humans have short memories, perhaps because History is hardly taught at school now - more likely though, it's because the 'herd instinct' still prevails in this day and age, and that the majority of people's intellectual capacities, seem to be RE-gressing rather than PRO-gressing.

As usual, you're spot on IMHO. It's been my experience that with long, bootcut jeans, the subject is rarely brought up and when it IS brought up it's by those that think my Miguel Jones boots are cool looking. The bootcut jeans act as a filter here though and if I were to wear them with tight, straight leg jeans I'd bet that I'd get negative reactions here and there from the fairer sex as well as from the unfair (lol) sex. It's all good though.

  11. I'm actually starting to comfortably wear my 5" heeled Miguel Jones boots. I find that if I stay with at least the 4" ones all day and in the evening during the work week that the 5inch ones become tolerable for all day wear by the weekend. It's a work in progress. Charlie

  12. A bit too fem and in your face for the average guy IMHO.

But have you seen these on the same site? Personally I find them a bit ugly, but if heels are going to become more mainstream for the average guy, then these are the kind of shoes that will help achieve that, rather than silver glitter platforms.

I would say to every guy here, that if you like these boots it is almost your duty to buy a pair. They are men's heels made for men, and we should support any manufacturer doing these to prove there is a market.

Now is the critical time - Jeffrey Campbell are just dipping their toe in the water to test the demand. If they don't sell well, they may not bother with any other styles and it will be an opportunity missed, but if they sell well they will introduce more styles of heels for men.

I imagine that there are other manufacturers who are aware that there is a niche catwalk trend of men in heels, but unsure if it could translate in to mainstream sales. Those aware of the Jeffery Campbell boots will be watching closely to see how well they sell.

Please support JC in their brave new venture. They are doing this for us!

I'm considering buying a pair. I'll have to see how big the root canal bill (OUCH!) is first though..

    Charlie

  13. If women wear these "men's" heels from Jeffrey Cambell, does that make them women's heels?

The designers may be attempting to prevent this by only selling them in the size range of men's 9 - 14? It's effectively the reverse of what those of us face when trying to find women's shoes or boots that aren't too small.

    Charlie

  14. The only high heeled boots I've ever worn out are the ones I bough from Payless several years ago. The were 3" heel height but it wasn't the heels or sole that wore out, instead it was the stress point near the toes and I believe this was due to the man made material. My 3" and 4" heeled western boots are all quality leather and will need new heel pads from time to time but should otherwise last many years as the soles are easily replaceable as well. I just keep tabs on the pads and will stop wearing them when the wear starts to get close to the stacked leather heel part. Charlie

  15. I agree high heels should be 4 inch or higher in womens or mens wear.

I tend to think that footwear becomes high heeled when the heel height is 3" or above. For me personally, I don't get the sensation of high heels until I hit the 4" mark, so your comment isn't far off the mark either.

  16. Heelster

Great story! Nice to hear there are other riders that wear High Heels

I own a 2003 Heritage Harley and have been riding motorcycles since I was 14 - many years:)

I also love to wear high heels and have worn many styles of heels on my Harleys. The pictures below are the latest boots that I have been wearing - hope you like.

I wear these 3 inch boots - also bought these at DSW - tried them on at the store and the sale lady loved them on me.
