  1. just to let everyone know that after a few problems with the sandals and the supplier im ready to go. the date of Saturday 21st August is now confirmed. fundraising has begun and is going well. the outfit is all done and dusted and most importantly the heels are comfortable and fit well. saying that i know for a deadcert that i will have a blister or 2 but that is expected when doing a crazy stunt like this. at the end of the day its for a very good cause and well worth the effort. bring on the marathon. hope you like my outfit. it should help in getting a bit of support on the walk. i even have a pink builders bucket that will be used to do a collection while on the walk. this will be rather heavy after 5 miles let alone 10 miles. i gues you all know by now why im called Krazy Kev LOL

  2. Ironic! The 2008 winner of the shoe repairer of the year competition was a Mr Simpson!

    Lee

i know the stitching dont match. i told the repairer to do it that colour as they never had any pink thread available. it does not matter to me as they are only going to be used for a sponsored walk. im happy with the result as it only cost £10 to do the stitching and fit steel heel tips that will be needed to walk the 10 miles i intend to do. plastic tips wont go the distance. as for the tips that is how they were made. the strap is only about 1/4'' shorter. there was plenty of room to remove the damaged piece. i now use the second hole in instead of the third. there is no way in a million years anyone would notice the stitching while the shoes are being worn.
  3. I have completed a high heel charity event where i walked 5 miles in a pair of 7.5'' heels. if i had not been wearing heels what attention would i have got? NONE is the answer. im also going to be doing a 10 mile walk in august. the idea of high heels was to get as much attention as possible. 5 miles is not far if you are fit but put on some heels and its a different kettle of fish. especially if like me you had never worn heels before. any woman will tell you how hard my black heels are to walk in and believe me its impossible to cover that sort of distance without the odd trip or two...or three:smile::) the message is that if you want to do something different then a pair of heels are the way to go. just be careful. while you are at it have a look at a picture of me ...you dont have to tell me that im no looker. a mini skirt, leggings and stockings are not my style:smile::P:smile::sad::smile:

  4. i just came across these sandal boots on the internet and i must say that they are rather nice to say the least. when i first see them i thought ''they would be nice to walk in'' support is excellent and your feet stay cool due to the open design. fill in my poll stating if you own a pair or if you would like a pair or not. maybe you prefer a high heel or a low heel:smile::)

  5. I have a pair of platform shoes where the straps are fixed in place. I also have thick ankles. It has got to the point where the buckles are starting to break from the straps. I need to have the buckles replaced and the straps made about 3 to 4" longer.

i just had to have a strap repaired on a sandal. i went to timpsons

    www.timpson.com

for £10 they not only re sewed the strap but also fitted steel heel tips. both jobs were done within an hour:smile::)

  6. If ever there was a company to be gratefull for then my vote goes to Timpsons. After a damaged ankle strap on a sandal, Timpsons came to the rescue. For the pultry sum of £9.95 they repaired the ankle strap and also fitted a pair of steel heel tips. Whats more they were ready within a hour. Now thats what I call good service. They have plenty of branches across the country, 635 in total to be precise so there is a very good chance there is one near you. If you want good service then I highly recommend Timpsons. Check out their website to find your nearest branch at

HERE IS A PICTURE SHOWING THE SERVICES THEY PROVIDE

here are the pics of my repaired strap and the heel tips:smile::):P

  7. my first time was not your normal walk in high heels. it was done to raise money for charity which is actually a very good excuse for a man who is too shy to get to wear his heels in public. my first time consisted of a 5 mile sponsored walk wearing very high pleaser platforms that were 7.5'' high. not the easiest heels to walk in but nowhere near impossible. the feeling of wearing heels was actually quite arousing. i also want to state that this was my first ever time in heels not just my first time in public. im doing a 10 mile walk for charity in august and im looking forward to doing that walk as well. i dont know if cowboy boots count as high heels as i had a pair during the 1970's when i was in school. i did of course also have platform heels but being the 1970's these were mens wear and not unusual for the time. i enjoy walking in heels. not just for the feeling i get as i only do it for charity. it is because im also doing something worth doing which is helping others:smile::smile::smile:

  8. krazykev64 – 10 miles in 5.75” sandles??? Don’t be a glutton for punishment. Ten miles is a looooong way even in flats. May I suggest a lower heel (maybe 4”) on boots or at last something with more arch support. The goal should be to finish the walk, walking, and not have to be carried over the finish line.

i have faith in myself to complete the 10 miles. i have already completed a 5 mile walk in 7.5'' heels with minimal problems. the sandals i will be wearing on the 10 mile walk are actually a better fit than the ones i used for the 5 mile walk and they are more comfortable generally. all i need to do is change the heel tips for steel ones so they will go the distance without wearing out. i know im a glutton for punishment but you must remember that this walk is for charity and the purpose of the high heels is to get the message across to the public of the pain and suffering that cancer patients are suffering. you must remember that i have a choice if i want to suffer. cancer patients dont have any choice at all.
  9. i can imagine what you must have been thinking when you first stepped out in your heels. my first public appearance was slightly different because i was doing it for charity wearing the heels in my avatar. you can read the full story at

    http://www.hhplace.org/stories_high_heel_theme/16396-my_first_public_appearance_heels_tell_us_about_yours.html

my next appearance will be in august when i will be wearing a pair of PLEASER DELIGHT 609LN sandals with a 5.75'' stiletto heel and platform to do a 10 mile walk to raise money for Cancer research. i will of course send in the story and photos of the walk once i have done it. when you have 2 close family members who have had or are suffering from cancer it makes you more determined to succeed. i know i will suffer big time but it will be worth it. you could always consider doing one of the WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES if there is one near you

  10. Yes.....and there should have been about 4 or 5mm more length of the strap stitched into the back part of the shoe upper as well...this is a little surprising, as 'Pleaser' are usually pretty good on quality - even for a mass manufactured shoe.

thats just what i think as well. it seems as if it was only held by about 4 stitches. i have posted a picture showing where it should be stitched to. the strap should go all the way in. the white lines represent the modified stitching

  11. after a lot of problems with getting a response from the supplier i decided to threaten them with the trading standards. it did not take long to get a reply and they have now decided that due to the lack of size 10 heels in stock that they would have them repaired for me. the supplier was NITELIFE in aberdeen scotland who trade as exoticdancewear. the custermer relationship is outright rubbish. there is no way i will ever do business with them again. i would not recommend anyone to go to them. the only good thing to come out of this is that the sandals are comfortable and have nearly been worn in

  12. i believe that high heels should be unisex. they should have whatever sole and heel combination you feel like such as 5'' stiletto with a 1'' platform or a 3'' chunky heel and single sole. as long as they dont look too girly then they could be classed as unisex. you can actually buy a unisex high heel shoe. i have posted a picture of a unisex boot with a 6''+ heel which are actually sold as unisex. there is also a black court shoe with a 5'' chunky heel that MIGHT get away with being classed as unisex but there is no way that you could call the sandal unisex as it is too girly looking. at the end of the day this is just my personal opinion. everyone has different views. a transvestite is more likely to want a girly looking pair where as someone like myself would go for the court style. we must also remember that high heels were worn by men in the 1970's including myself. would these have been classed as unisex

  13. I will always remember my first public appearance in high heels. It was at a supermarket. I was wearing the 7.5'' Pleaser XTC826 heels that are in my avatar. I was raising money for charity and I was wearing them to promote a 5 mile walk to raise money for Help for Heroes. As you may expect I had more than my fair share of weird looks from members of the public. You might ask yourself if I felt embarresed. The answer is NO. The reason is that everyone was very supportive in was I was doing and what I was intending on doing just 2 months later. The heels were a lot more comfortable than expected. You must remember that this was not just my first time in public but also my very first time in heels. Very high heels at that. The amount of women that told me that I would never complete 5 miles is beyond believe. Overall I collected over £200 in around 6 hours. Fast forward to the walk. Much was the same during the walk. Lots of wierd looks from people but also lots of support for my cause. It was a lovely warm day which as I found out was not the best of days to wear stockings and leggings as my legs and feet were roasting. Anyway I plodded on with a wobble here and there and managed to arrive at my destination 5 miles away 3.5 hours later gaining 3 blisters during the walk. You are most likely asking yourselfs what it felt like walking in public in womens high heels. To be honest it did not bother me at all. I even contacted the local paper to promote my event and had my photo plastered on the front page. I had a huge ''high'' as I completed my walk much to many peoples disbelieve. Over £720 was raised in total by various means. If you ask me if I would do it again the answer is Yes. I have even organised a 10 mile walk for the coming August. If you asked me if I would go down the local boozer wearing high heels the answer would be Yes but only for a good cause as I dont wear heels at any other time and only for a good cause. Maybe other men would like to tell everyone of their first public appearance in high heels. Did you hide the fact you were wearing them or did you display them like me? Were you scared or shy? Any photos very much appreciated.:smile::):silly:

  14. the results are roughly what i expected by not by such a huge margin. the 4 inch had nearly 2.5 times as many votes as the 4 inch heel. i had a rough idea that the 4 & 5 inch heels would be the most common. i think personally that a 5 inch single sole could prove rather challenging to walk in for long distances. a 7.5'' platform is challenging but i think that a 5'' single sole would provide more of a challenge in some respects. i think that platforms and single soles both have advantages and disadvantages:smile:

  15. Short house or really tall person:silly:??

    Sorry couldn't resist.

    NO PLATFORM:

    4" is high

5" is comfortable (all day wear)

6" is kick-ass fun (as long as there is a place to sit once in a while)

i could wear the 7.5'' platforms in my avatar all day as they were also comfortable.
  16. Im with you on that - do myself damage if i go any higher .. and I'm not justtalking about ankles - door frames & shelves pose very real risk

That said, it doesnt stop me occasionally trying a pair of 5's

i agree with the problem of shelves and doorframes. i'm 6 foot tall and i was only half inch lower than a standard 6ft 6in door frame when i was wearing my 7.5'' pleasers that i wore on my 5 mile walk. it would of been safer if i was 6ft 6in as i would have been looking at the wall above the door.
  17. Yes.....and there should have been about 4 or 5mm more length of the strap stitched into the back part of the shoe upper as well...this is a little surprising, as 'Pleaser' are usually pretty good on quality - even for a mass manufactured shoe.

That is just what i thought. i phoned the suppliers as they had not replied to my email and they said send them back explaining the damage and they will sort out a replacement or something of the same value which does not leave me much choice as they were only £25 in a sale. theres a choice of about three pairs 1/ another pair the same. 2/ dolly 80 3/ viva 609 but there is also a fair choice at £30 a pair. i would prefer pink but white would be ok at a push. i can always get my old heels back that i used for the 5 mile walk i done last year but 10 miles in a pair of 7.5'' heels would be hard work. they are also black (see avatar)
