OK, sorry. How about we start, or you start a thread called "HIGH HEEL CHALLENGE"

High heel challenge? that sounds good to me. does walking 5 miles in 7.5'' platforms count as a challenge?. if it does lets see if anyone can better it. just to let you know i will be doing a 10 mile challenge next year in 6'' platforms. that will take some beating if i manage to complete it. anyone wanna join me LOL:smile:

I am now running a poll to find out the most common heel and sole types. pick 2 choices in total. one for the heel type and one for the sole type. My personal choice is chunky heels and thick platforms:smile:

WOW just what i thought. shoes styles are most common with a 5'' heel which is actually a bit higher than i thought. 5'' would be my highest without platforms but with platforms i could easily manage 8'' as long as the platform was at least 3;; thick. i will have to set up a poll to find the most common heel types and sole types. next year im doing a 10 mile charity walk in 6'' stiletto heels and a 1.75'' platform. i just hope they are hard wearing and comfortable. im thinking on wearing pleaser kiss 209 sandals:smile:

Well my polls on various forums have been doing extremely well with a total of nearly 400 votes. The top choice is the PLEASER SEDUCE 208 with 97 votes. This is followed by the PLEASER DELIGHT 667 with 75 votes. I think personally that my favourite is the PLEASER KISS 209 which has 6'' heels and a 1.75'' platforms This choice has nothing to do with looks or fashion. During some online research I have found out that this style has the thickest padded insole. The top forum choice has none. I have posted a larger picture of the sandal on its own in pink so you will get an idea of what its like. I think my next choice would of been the PLEASER LIP 109 or the PLEASER DELIGHT 667. Just to refresh readers memory's I will be wearing them to walk a distance of 10 miles. I just hope the sandals can take that sort of punishment. The PLEASER XTC 826 sandals i used for my 5 mile walk had minimal wear but they did have a chunky heel. They are the same sandal as my avatar. Lets hope the kisses will be as reliable. All I have to do now is find the cheapest suppliers. Any recommendations please?

Well it is now 3 months since I completed my 5 mile walk in ''those heels''. I must admit I was over the hill and well pleased that I actually completed the 5 miles. Not only did it feel good to have completed the walk but even wearing the heels felt good which I can only put down to the sandals being well made. I would recommend the Pleaser brand to both men and women if they are after a good quality budget pair of heels.

As I previously mentioned I promised my wife that I would double the distance for her chosen charity next year wearing the same heels. she has now decided that I dont have to wear the same heels but whatever I wear must be pink and very high as you will see by the picture I have uploaded. If you go to my poll you can pick the pair that you would like me (or yourself) to wear on the 10 mile walk next year. The poll is at:

The only pair I wont use is the red pair which I have found out is not available in pink. It is not just the heels that will be pink as I will be dressed in drag which will also be ALL pink.

So far I have had a total of over 340 votes to pick me a pair of shoes for my marathon of a walk next year. To date the order of popularity is: 1st SEDUCE 208 - 89 VOTES 2nd DELIGHT 667 - 66 VOTES 3rd KISS 209 - 55 VOTES 4th LIP 109 - 51 VOTES 5th CANDY 09 - 51 VOTES 6th DELIGHT 609 - 32 VOTES Personally after a bit of consideration I believe I may suffer badly wearing the SEDUCE style as the insoles are not padded and the soles are thin. The style is ideal offering good support and for this reason if SEDUCE wins the poll I just might pick the DELIGHT 667 which is a similar style offering good support but if the largest size is a bit tight I may go for the KISS style. last saturday i walked 5 miles in 3.5" stilettos. I just wanted to tell someone

i can better that. On 22 aug 09 i walked 5 miles in 7.5inch platforms with a 4 inch platform. To top it all off it was the first time i had ever walked in heels

This is interesting. I expected the most common size heel to be lower than 5''. I was expecting 3'' or maybe 4''. Shoes over the other styles is what I expected.

Three inches: no problem, I have walked around in them the whole day.

is murder on your feet. But that holds for almost any shoe type).

5 inches I know I cannot. I have some shoes and boots like that that I wear

occasionally around the house, but probably a quarter mile outside would wreck my feet

for the rest of the day.

4 inches, would depend very much on the specific shoes or boots.

Some might be fine, some definitely would not. That is why I voted safe at 3 inches.

i can easily walk 2 miles in a 7.5'' platform and i prefer a sandal style. i have done upto 5 miles to date

This poll is to find out what size heel a person can comfortably walk in up to a distance of 2 miles. it is based on a stiletto heel with a single sole to half inch platform. it also ask if you prefer shoe, sandal boot or mule style. NOTE: 6 inch and higher is with or without a high platform

pick the pair of heels in the picture YOU like best. pair with top votes will be worn by me to do a 10 mile charity hike. personally i like the LIP109 and delight 667 styles

I only wear high heels to raise money for charity but if i ever did start to wear them everyday there is no way that i would even think about driving in them. its not worth the risk. There is no way you can have full control over a car with high heels especially platforms. I drive a manual car so it would be twice as risky. Could you ever forgive yourself if you killed a person? i dont think so. Let common sense prevail and wear flats or trainers. Any one who thinks driving in heels is safe should have their head examined.

I agree with Bubba. Tall platforms don't seem the best for a marathon.

so which one LIP or SEDUCE?. Oh by the way i have already done a 5 mile walk in a pair of XTC826 which is what my avatar is. it was easy so im not worried about the platforms

None. Don't wear real fem looking shoes or open toe. But for wife, lip 109.

im not too much worried if they look too feminine as i will be wearing them for a charity walk so i need to get as much attention as possible. sandals allow my feet to breathe and stay cooler

hi. i have already posted this question in another part of the forum. i have posted it again elsewhere as i am not having many responses. i want forum users to pick one pair of heels for me so i can participate in a 10 mile walk for charity next year. i have already done a similar 5 mile walk in heels. i have posted a picture with a shortlist of 6 pairs that i think are ideal. just pick one pair and send a reply. i know this sounds a krazy question but it is all in aid of a very good cause which is cancer research. i will of course let everyone know how i get on. many thanks K K PS the lip and kiss styles are my current favourites followed by the 2 pink pairs:unsure:

5 miles in 3.5 hours? That's barely 1.5mph, were they that hard to walk in?

they were quite easy to walk in considering the height and that it was my first ever time in heels:smile:
