  1. im not a happy man because i have just noticed that one of the ankle straps on a PLEASER DELIGHT 609LN sandal is trying to part company. what makes it worse is that they have only been worn indoors. i purchased them to do a 10 mile sponsored walk but the way it is looking i would not trust the straps for 10 yards let alone miles. i have contacted the company that i purchased them from to see if they will refund or swap them but im not sure as i have had them 2 months but i believe that they are wearing premature especially as they have only seen indoor wear. if i cant swap them is this an easy repair? i hope so as they fit well and are comfortable. I HAVE POSTED A PICTURE:mecry::smile::mecry::):mecry::silly:

  2. i now have a bigger problem. the heels are the least of my worrys and they have not even seen tarmac yet. it seems as if one of the ankle straps are trying to part company as the enclosed photo shows. im not pleased as i found these sandals fitted me well and were also comfortable. they were great around the house and were starting to bed in to my feet just right:mecry::smile::mecry::)

  3. We'd be paying tax on it years ago if they knew of a way to meter it.

If they tried to microchip our bins I'd be putting all my rubbish in a big bag and dumping it at the end of the road.

i will go one better and put a match to it. i can then dig the ashes into my veg plot which gives me cheap vegetables. as i only live 1/4 mile from the local waste dump i could always dump it there once a fortnight
  4. You say tomato and I say tomato......my, this is just plain silly......TDS, who licked the red off your candy? :pulsingheart: Chill -- it's not that big a deal! If he wants to wear herring boxes without tops.....who the hell cares......

thanks mate. glad someone can see some sense and where im coming from
  5. Thus meaning that it was, indeed, a pair that was not on the list. You just said it yourself.

It's a bit like saying the Golf and the Golf GTI are not two different cars ... they are built by VW and are both Golf models but one has more power and looks nicer.

In this case they are both built by pleaser and are both "DELIGHT" models but ones an LN ... which came in pink and had 3 lines down it...

    Regards.

    TDS

a golf and a golf cannot be compared to a pair of sandals. both handle differently for a start. the 609 and 609LN will both feel identical to walk in. if you had a pink golf gti and a red golf gti would they be diffent cars or the same
  6. I think this poll is going to be as completely useless as the last poll he made ... 10 mile walk in platforms ... apparently 4 or 5 forums took part and had chosen a pair from the 6 or 8 pictured ... only to choose, himself, a pair that wasn't on the list.

I believe he's been banned from two or three of these forums either for being "completely off-topic" or for "making threads that were a complete farce"

I think it's safe to say he's doing the same here ... gogo50's were discontinued either 2008 or 2009 from what I've seen on many retail websites ... I may be wrong but surely retailers won't take them off their shelves, virtual or otherwise, for any other reason ... ??

    Regards

    TDS

i quote you that the pair i choose in the last poll was on the list but the style name was slightly different. the style i choose was a DELIGHT 609LN. there was a DELIGHT 609 in the poll which is identical except that the LN version is available in pink. the only other difference is the LN version has 3 lines around the heel and sole. the GOGO 50 is still widely available and to my knowlege is not discontinued. my threads are also not a complete farce. if you think they are why dont you come down to swansea in august and watch me walk the 10 miles in the heels or better still why dont you do the walk in high heels as well. i have also not been banned from any forums to my knowledge. it may also interest you to know that i have already done 1 high heel walk wearing the heels that i am wearing in my avatar. if you dont believe me read the paper article i have posted

  7. I'd wear trainers...

so would i normally but at the end of the day i will be doing it for charity as as i have proved, high heels will get more attention than a pair of trainers. take my first high heel walk of 5 miles. i wore 7.5'' heels to do the walk and recieved lots of attention and sponsors and i raised over £700. ask yourself this. how much attention and money would i have raised if i had been wearing a pair of trainers? not a lot i think
  8. This might sound like a rather stupid thread but not as stupid with what I hopefully aim to attempt next year if all goes well. What I am asking is if a person put a gun to your head and said ''You are going to walk a 26 mile marathon by choosing one of these pairs of shoes.'' Which pair would you choose?. You have to remember that it is 26 miles you will be walking and unless you complete it you're dead. For this reason you are going to pick the most comfortable. pick the pair you you choose from the picture and vote on the poll.

  9. no problems. Pleaser have a vast range to suit all tastes. try AMBERS SECRETS NITELIFE (exotic dance wear) ALTERNATIVE FOOTWEAR make sure that you check out the sales section. you can get a pair for as little as £25 like i did. look at my pic. heel is 5.75'' with a 1.75 platform and stiletto heel. HAPPY SHOPPING

  10. could anyone guide me to where i am likely to suffer blisters? when i completed a 5 mile walk the only blisters i had was on my little toes. i was wearing the same sandals as in my avatar. i also had a blister on the ball of 1 foot. i have uploaded a picture showing some shoes. there is a pink pair of sandals that i will be wearing this coming august to do a 10 mile walk but the other ones are what i consider would be most suitable. you will see that i have marked all of them with coloured spots. this is where i think that blisters are most likely to develop. does anyone agree with my opinions. what style would you think would be best? colour and looks are unimportant

  11. I would have to say that being in the military we do 12.6 mile Ruck Marches twice per year. Doing 12.6 miles in combat boots, with a 50 lb. ruck sack is extremely challenging. I could only imagine doing a 26 mile walk in heels. I would absolutely love to attempt it, but I don't see that happening in the near future. I voted for the Dolly 50, but the Betty 1 or Divine 440 should be suitable, a long as you make sure to use gel insoles and give the shoes at least a month of steady wear for breaking in. Also, if you are to do this marathon, be sure to use microfiber walking socks. They are two layered socks that runners use because all of the friction on the heel is absorbed in the two layers rubbing together. You could also try a well fitted pair of microfiber tights with a pair of microfiber knee highs under them, but that would also generate a lot of heat and keeping cool, along with proper hydration, are essential for doing any type of walking over 5 miles.

I WAS DOING 10 MILE RUCKSACK WALKS WHEN I WAS IN ARMY CADETS AGED 15. THE WEIGHT WAS ONLY ABOUT 40 POUNDS BUT I FOUND IT NO PROBLEM. 26 MILES IN HEELS WILL BE A BIG CHALLENGE BUT I THINK IT CAN BE DONE. I HAVE NONE 5 MILES IN 7.5'' HEELS (SEE AVATAR) WHICH WAS ALSO MY VERY FIRST TIME WEARING HEELS AND I FOUND IT EASIER THAN I THOUGHT. IT TOOK 3.5 HOURS:smile:
  12. This thread reminds me of a film i watched some years ago where a woman was being attacked. she eventually got free by kicking the attacker in the forehead killing him instantly. her shoe was stuck firmly meaning she had to leave with no shoes. (what a waste) i cannot remember the name of the film but it shows how leathal a heel can be. just a good stamping on someones foot is enough to cause very serious injury to a persons foot.

  13. this poll is not about what you consider to be most appealing or sexiest or even the nicest looking. it is what pair you think would be most suitable to walk a marathon in. my choice would be either DIVINE 415 / 440 and DOLLY 76 / 37. You have to consider factors such as comfort and stability. after all you may love your 6'' stilettos but would you attempt to walk over 26 miles in them

  14. i have been doing a bit of thinking over the last couple of days wondering if anyone has ever walked a full marathon in heels. it has dawned on me that if i complete my 10 mile walk with reletive ease then a marathon is a possibility. the problem is what heels to chose. i have set up a poll of 10 styles that should be fairly comfortable over such a distance but suggestions are welcome. my choice of heel would be 3'' with a single sole or 5'' with a 1.5'' platform and chunky heel. does anyone know of anybody who has done a similar distance? this would be endurance walking in the big league. not quite up with hiking over a mountain in heels but not too far behind and also a lot safer. i think the platforms would be the best bet as the heels would last a lot longer. the picture just shows examples and colour is irrelevant. the idea is what shoe is most suitable or put another way. least likely to give blisters or sore feet.

  15. Yesterday was just the day of all days. Started with loads of problems at work so it got cinda late before i got off and as luck would have it half way home the car broke down . And even more lucky me i forgot my handbag at work with my cell in it :) so couldn't call anyone for help.

So i had to walk the remaining 4 km's home in my 13cm pumps, ( se picture ) on a road with a little snow on it and it was -3 c. outside so much pain in my feets where expected but when i got i home i had no pain in my feets only my finger hurt a little but that was from freezing. The shoes where extremely comfortable to walk in and because of the metal heel and worn down sole it was no problem at all walking those 4 km's home.

So when the weather gets a little better i think i might just try and walk home the entire way from work one day. Thinks its prob gona be a friday so i have the weekend to rest my feets if needed. And i will try it in the same shoes and the full walk is 8,1km not sure how much that is in miles but if you want you can prob http://google.com it. So this is really a bad situation with a good outcome:D Although i didn't like the low temperature cause its was really cold.

If the full walk turns out good i might start walking alot to and from work in my heels cause i really enjoy walking in heel's.

Any one else have the same desire for walking long distances i heel's?

    Love Leigh.

8.1KMS IS JUST OVER 5 MILES. i have done this distance in 7.5'' heels (19cm) they are the heels i am wearing in my avatar. it took me 3.5 hrs. no problem:smile::blinkbigeyes::smile::pulsingheart:
  16. dont forget that if you intend to go up in heel and platform height that the feel will be different. you just need a bit of practice. dont forget that higher the platforms are that there is a very high risk of losing you balance and tripping. i know from experience. i walked 5 miles wearing the platforms in my avatar and i would like a pound for every time i tripped. luckily for me i never injured myself.

  17. these would be an ideal pair of heels for long distance walking. if the heels are under 4'' they could possibly be ok for a marathon as long as the heels had steel tips fitted. if they had chunky heels they would be 100% ideal. they have open toes and sides which offer good ventilation and the ankle support is supurb:smile:

  18. 5.5'' Would be a bare minimum as i wear heels for fundraising walks to raise money for charitys. for this reason higher is better as the extra height gets more attention especially when worn by a man. these are most likely to have a platform sole of at least 1.5 inches. i intend to (hopefully) walk a full marathon in a couple of years and as yet i have nor decided what heel type to wear. it is most likely to be a 3 to 4'' single sole or thin platform with a padded insole and very good ankle support with a chunky heel. an ideal style would be a pleaser divine 415

  19. i choose SHOW OFF. my reason for this choice is because when i go heeling in publec, its for a good reason. the reason is not to keep my feet dry or stop them getting cut on a stone. the reason is FUNDRAISING. i have only done 1 fundraising walk which was 5 miles in a pair of 7.5'' platforms (see my avatar) and i raised £723 for HELP FOR HEROES. i am doing a second 10 mile walk in august wearing a pair of 5.75'' platforms to raise money for CANCER RESEARCH UK.

  20. i cannot see any problem in a girl posting in the boys forum as long as their reply is boy orientated. a girl can after all give an opinion as if they were a boy. you could compare this dilemma to a person who has had a sex change so if a girl has a sex change to become a boy would she/he be allowed to post in the boys forum then?:-?:pulsingheart:

  21. I LOVE! my Pleaser 378(?) mary janes with the 3inch platform and 7inch heels but there just alittle unstable to wear most of the time. At the moment 1" plats with 5"heels seem to be my heel to wear around the house

you should try walking 5 miles in a pair of Pleaser XTC826 they have 4'' platforms and a 7.5'' heel. you are forever looking to the ground for things that you would not want to stand on (small stones etc)
  22. If you had been around in the 1970's when most men wore high heel platforms would you have considered the platforms in the picture mens shoes? They are both Pleaser womens platforms from the present time. Heel height is 5''

  23. I'd say Delight 609. I've ordered a pair in white two weeks ago. Still waiting for them to arrive, i'm so excited!

i have a pair of 609ln's which are basically the same except for some lines around the heel and sole. they are very comfortable as they have padded insoles. i think you will be very pleased with them. the heel is only 10mm round so if you do a lot of walking you may be better off tipping them with steel heel tips. they only cost about £6 a pair to do:smile::blinkbigeyes::smile:
