Steve - This is Stiletto Lesson Two: You need to watch where you step. Having that heel come down on an uneven surface can be disastrous. They are especially hard on natural stone.
But then there are people like NZ that live in them and wonder why wear any other type of heel.

I have 4", 6", 8", 10", 30", 32", and 34" inseam pants, 30" was pre-heels, 32" and 34" depending on the height of the heels.
What you have is fine, I wear this lenght often when I wear long pants.

You could go an extra inch, but 2 inches maybe too long.

Great you had another heeling adventure and the world did not stop to take notice.
And you learned another lesson on stilettos and wet floors.

I walk on hard surfaces all the time. You have to embrace the click and enjoy it. Watch those heads turn...see if you can give someone a whiplash. Become one with the click.
(Too new wave for you...LOL)

Yes, it's that idiotic handling fee that is the most vexatious. And if they erroneously charge you the VAT - as has happened to me - you still don't get the collection fee refunded.
Just be glad they don't get charged a Refund Fee and a Collection Fee for the Refund Fee.

I have the same gold accents on a pair of Cathy Jean booties. Love these accents. Too bad Cathy Jean went under, they had great Argentine boots and heels in leather and suede.

It took me less than 5 minutes to go from flat shoes to a 4 inch heel. I did it while lecturing. But I had just done years of ankle surgeries/reconstruction (due to wearing men's shoes) so my ankle were ready and flexible. I had continued to do my ankle exercises for years. I was able to walk for 10-15 minutes on my toes, so wearing heels was no big deal. All I needed to do was find my center of gravity - balance.
