    Happy New Year to all!

May it be filled with great things,

Mine’s certainly off to a stylish start with a pair of lovely brown knee boots with slender 3” block heels. Thick soft deerskin leather.

    Any grand plans/resolutions for 2023?

I would have thought one of your goals for 2023 would be WHITE GO GO boots.

  2. It's hard.  Pre-pandemic, I would be in heels from 8 to 16 hours a day, 4 to 7 days a week. However, working from home, its hard to keep my heels on.  If I wear my Steve Madden mules I tend to kick then off when I sit in my office and then walk around barefoot.  I haven't been getting the daily minimum time in high heels I need for my hip.  For this reason I will sometimes wear my knee highs around my house because I don't (can't easily) take them off.

  3. 4 inch platforms are a little too much for me (unless I want to clean the top of my refrigerator), but I have plenty in the 2 inch range and a few higher. We all have different taste/styles and we are lucky that there is the variety for us out there.

And now to get most of the members here upset, I don't wear pumps.  😂

On another note, my new J LO OTK boots don't fit, so back they go. 🤨  And the search continues.

Is this considered sufficiently 'normal' (ignoring optional hat and sunglasses)?   The pic has been seen here before and is (or was) an advert for 'Omano' boots, from Spain.   Although posed, it seems to me to show a relaxed man wearing everyday clothing with plain-looking boots that just happen to have a (very) high but well-proportioned heel.   A look - indeed, a lifestyle - which I suggest most of us would be happy to emulate.

    That's normal.

This is not a look that will help pave the path for more men to wear heels. The dainty purse looks out of place and balloon pants ... come on.

This is about as good as a photo of a guy playing a round of golf in stilettoes and a midriff.

What needs to be out there are photos of "normal" men in "normal" attire doing "normal" things in a "normal" way AND in heels.

I have not had any luck at DSW the past few years in finding larger sizes.  At least at the stores.  Most everything there stops at size 10.  I like trying on the shoes in person.   Merry Christmas all.....    sf

I'm waiting for the after Christmas sales. 😀

Link to Christian Louboutin "Yoz the Lips" 70mm high heel boot for men.  Only $1895, lol.

I need to go and buy these for only $1895 before they are sold out. (NOT)

Where gender fluid fashion isn’t aimed at the Alphabet folks, it is all too often drearily neutral, studiously avoiding anything that could pin it to either side of the fence. It tends to be neither fish nor fowl, but rather uniform and uninteresting.

The opportunities for the Alphabet folk are there, undoubtedly. And that’s great - for them. But the marketers and fashion writers need to be aware of the broader market and make a point of telling regular guys that these new gender fluid fashions are for them too. That means presenting them in ways that will seem accessible. Nearly all the fashion articles one reads in mainstream media wax lyrical about the new openness and tolerance for the LGBTQ+ folks without ever mentioning the vast bulk of men who are paralysed by tradition and unlikely to budge without some clever salesmanship. And that is utterly lacking.

If you want it to be come more mainstream, then you have to be part of the movement.  You need to have the courage to be a leader in the change; early adapter?  You can't sit on the sideline and wait.

I have purchased many non-conforming items (other than heels) and have been surprised by the men that have asked me where I got the item because they want one too.

I’m really tempted - it would be very satisfying. I’d love to find something that was nicely made, of buttery soft leather, with the chic look and style that evoked what it was I liked about go-go boots c.1970.

A couple times I’ve looked around to see what was available but all I could find were costume boots, cheap and plasticky. Alas…

When you find them let us know. I wouldn't mine a pair myself😀

  9. Okay @pebblesf, here’s a more detail photo of the Jessica Simpson’s Rollin stiletto boots.  Five inch heel, 1 inch platform, size 11. I find that Jessica Simpson heels are pointed so I need to go up a size. I found these late in the run and they only had this color (which I like) and a leopard print left in size 11. Would have liked another suede one in chestnut or a dark brown. I’ve even emailed the company to ask them to bring this model back.

So today is a cold, windy, and very wet day. Great for the Nine West leather boots and leggings.

It just so happens that a member who was formerly quite active on this forum gifted me a pair of low heeled knee high boots. I have never worn them. I suppose I ought to try them, just to see if they get public reactions in the way that my high heeled boots get. It would obviously be a very unscientific test, and probably not a very informative one, but it might be fun!

Wear them on the outside of your pants and see what happens.

  11. Wore one of my favorite winter outfits last week. Cold day and this sherpa is warm.

Started out going to Costco and had at least 8 compliments on everything.  But the funny thing is I ran into my Ex-wife there. She knows I wear heels and have seen me in many different one, she had never me in knee high stilettos. First time for everything! 😆 She was surprise, maybe because I towered over her, who knows/who cares.

Then went to my eye exam test and after it was done the tech told be how nice the boots are how well I walked in them.  I love wearing these Jessica Simpson boots.
