If he really was English, he certainly wasn't 'vertically challenged' - just 'short'.

He was a British expatriate, I know the difference between Kiwis, Aussies, Brits, Scotts, ...

    And "short" is a understatement.

I'm on the verge of acquiring an over-the-knee boot.  Any one know anything about the JLO JENNIFER LOPEZ LAKEL OVER-THE-KNEE BOOT.  Do JLO shoe run skinny?

So I pulled the trigger and bought the JLO otk boots.  I hope they fit.  Will find out next week.

I’m getting a pair of boots that appear to be somewhat similar to that - block heeled brown knee boots. Should have them next month. Looking forward to having them. It’s a nice look with jeans.

I think it is a look that is both fierce and bold. I get envious looks from both men and women.  I wear shorter jeans under the boots so they don't bunch up at my ankles.

  4. I'm taking my mother to dinner next week, but she has seen my heels for over 7 years. She has never seen my stilettoes and she wont this trip, the resort where the restaurant is located is not stiletto friendly, however, I no long hide my heels.

  5. I've seen -25 F in California. I am also a skier and have seen and skied may days in single digits or lower.

We have had nights in the 30's lately, it may not be COLD for some of you, but it is cold for me.

  6. I go to a small 2 - 3 person salon that does manicures and pedicures. Been getting pedicures for about two decades, ever since I hurt my hand.  I have seen only a few men getting pedicures at the same time, but I know they have many more male client since I know the husbands of many of their women also come in for pedicures. I have damaged the roots of my fingernails and need to cover them with acrylic to keep them together.

  7. What is missing from the article is the author's height and shoe size.  10 cm might be challenging for a size 5 (US) shoe. But unable to manage heels is also a function of weak ankles and muscles. A friend's daughter can run in her 4 inch stilettoes.

I was already wearing 2 inch heels when I went to 4 inch heels.  It took me about a minute to find my new balance and off I went. I had been doing years of ankle exercises after several ankle reconstructions (cause partly by men's shoes). So it was no big deal to go to 4 inch heels.  I will wear my stilettoes for up to 16 hours, walking, standing, sitting, driving. If I know I will have to walk a lot, I will wear a block heel.

  8. I was at my nail salon (only two pedicurist and one other client) getting a pedicure and we were all talking. And I said something to the effect of "... and I wish I was 6' 3" ..." and with out missing a beat the owner said " what are you talking about, you're 6-3 in heels."

I have recently had the pleasure of enduring my company's annually required harassment training. And every year, I say the same thing. I will probably say the same thing next year. The entire two hours or whatever it is could really be boiled down into one pithy statement: "Don't be a jackwagon." Mr. Bryan evidently forgot that rule.

I have to go to one of those trainings every few years.  But since they pay lots of money to go, I don't mind.

Several years back a woman (falsely) accused me of sexual harassment.  It turned out to be her M.O.  Every time a person would challenge her statements she would threaten them with sexual harassment and they all had back down. But I was disappointed in the job she was doing and had put together a list of reasons she should be strip of her job, how her actions was hurting the institution in general.  And I submitted those to the administration.

Then one day she came into my area (where I was in-charge) and started to behave erratically, I asked her nicely and calmly several times if I could help (I knew exactly what she was looking for), but she refused my help.  She continued to behave erratically then yelled at me and the next day filled those sexual harassment charges against me. When in fact she was the aggressor. After several stressful months of meetings with HR, it was proved that her claims were invalid and she later resigned.  It was amazing how many people, both men and women, that thanked me for standing up against her.

  10. It's sad that fit and comfort are secondary issues that make people forget.  They end up with heels that look in the closet and they say they can't wear heels. I am often asked how I can wear heels all the time, "don't your feet hurt?"

I tell them that fit and comfort are the most important things, and of course I must like their style just to take a look at them. If they don't fit why buy them, why keep them?  Then I tell them the most important thing a women told me when I got my first heels over 2.5 inches: "Life's too short for heels that hurt."  What a novel concept!

  11. Knee high envy.

I was heading to my car in a grocery store parking lot, A woman passed me (going to the store) with flat knee high leather boots. I saw her look at my knee high suede boots with 4 inch block heels and you could instantaneously see the look of envy on her face.

Since the pandemic I have mostly been working from home (great commute), I have mostly gotten the occasional "Wow I love your heels" comment from women and a few men.  As a result, there not much to write about
