  1. Still, deep down inside, I did sort of wish someone engaged me in conversation about my attire.

That is always my hope when I go out too. But I usually come up empty handed on that front. I guess no pointing and laughing is a small victory. So beggars can't be choosers. It would still be nice though. I like the capris of yours by the way.

  2. The weather was nice today and I had a day off from work. I had some errands to run, banking and such, so I decided to combine it into a Mr. X day. First I made sure all of my planned errands were taken care of. Once those were out of the way it was all about Mr. X.

My outfit was actually very basic at first other than the heels. But on my travels I picked up some items and basically added to my outfit on the fly.

First stop was Aldo. Always a stop on a Mr. X day. Of course my favorite sales associate was working which is always nice. I wasn't in there very long. I didn't see much I liked. Plus she was busy with some shipment or something.

After that I went to a couple of the local thrift shops. I needed some shirts for my outfits. Most of my shirts I have now don't really complete my outfits and they don't go with many of my heels. I can dress my bottom half ok but I don't really have much in my closet to make a good top half. I managed to find a couple of tops.

After leaving I changed in my car into one of the shirts I bought. my outfit instantly looked better. So off to my next stop. Another clothing store, "Winners", for those that live in Canada. The store is for men and women, but it is definitely geared more to the women. I was in there just long enough to purchase a ladies belt. It was the final piece of my outfit puzzle. My outfit was totally good to go now. Last stop was Future Shop. It is the Canadian version of Best Buy. Gadgets and Audio/Video are my thing. So even if I don't buy anything there I am happy when I leave. But I usually end up walking out with something. Not today unfortunately.

Finally I headed home to document and take pics of the journey. Enjoy!

Here is a link to the shoes I wore today.

And here are a few pics. The first one is the shirt itself because it doesn't show to well in the other shots. It is almost military inspired. And the other pics are the entire outfit as it was when I arrived home after changing into some of my purchases. Heels, ladies jeans, brown belt, ladies top, and some bangles/wrist cuffs Enjoy!

  3. I was out doing some shopping yesterday. I spotted this older beauty coming out of a store. She looked like something straight out of one of those "Real Housewives" shows. Everything about her just exuded sexiness. From the way she was dressed, to the way she walked. Sorry for the poor quality. This was extracted from a video I took with my digi cam. You should see this women walk, Wow! Enjoy!

  4. I was on vacation and in a thrift store the other day. I was browsing through the rack of womens jeans. I found a pair and tried them on. They fit great and, looked good on me, so I bought them. Other than slight wear and tear they were in pretty good shape. They were only $9 no tax as well. The brand was Paige Denim and they were a flare/bootcut style. I barely new the brand but I though they were pretty high end. I was pretty sure I remember a lot of celebs talking about them and wearing them. I figured I would research them when I got home. The tag on the inside of the jeans says "Laurel Canyon". So I went to the website and here is what I found.

There are a few kinds of "Laurel Canyon" bootcuts, as evident here. http://www.paigeusa.com/Women_Style_Bootcut/pl/c/204.html

As best I can tell they are the sunset brand, as evident here. http://www.paigeusa.com/Laurel_Canyon__Sunset/pd/c/204/np/204/p/40001185.html

They may also be the "McKinley brand but I am pretty certain they are the "Sunsets".

So according to there website these jeans cost $189. Everywhere else on the internet they are similar price as well. So unless they are extremely well made knockoffs(I doubt it), I managed to snag close to $200 jeans for $9!! Is that not the deal of the century?

  5. Enjoyed reading about your outing Stormclaw. You will be amazed at how far you will progress now that you are "out in the world". I am still amazed at how far I have progressed from the days of ankle boots hidden under my jeans.

I am also glad to meet a younger "heeler" like myself even though I have a few years on ya. And an apparent guitar player like me as well, as evident by the acoustic in your pic. Me and you are going to get along just fine.

In terms of the outfit, I love the boots! You were going for a casual look but your outfit looks almost 2 casual with those boots. One thing I find is that I am now more into presenting an entire image when I go out in my heels. And I am more into coordinating outfits now. So when I do go out people are not just focused on my heels. You almost have to think or do like women do. If you look sloppy when you go out in your heels that is when I find people are more likely to give you "the business" so to speak. As long as you carry yourself like you belong in heels, and present a good overall image, you will rarely be given the "time of day' by others. I have even managed to receive some very positive comments from several ladies. Those are the best times. When you can engage in friendly conversation about your outfit or theirs.

By the way don't be afraid to check out my thread either.(shameless plug)

  6. Well today the weather was nice, and I had a day off from work, so I decided to travel. For my outfit I chose a somewhat edgier or rocker inspired look. Blue jeans, a grey t-shirt with rocker inspired designs on it, A bracelet/cuff on each arm, and my new sandals. Here is a weblink to a picture of the sandals. As well as a thread I started regarding them.

Most of my travel was day to day errands that needed to get done. But of course I also had to make a stop at Aldo. It is now one of my favorite shoe stores. I think I am vast becoming one of their best customers. And my favorite sales lady was working. She always gives me great customer service. And makes me feel right at home when I shop there. And she is usually very eager to sell me something....lol

Many of their reduced sandals were an extra 30% off today. But unfortunately there wasn't much I liked. The one pair I did try on looked better on the shelf than they did on my feet. They also had some other reduced shoes that I assume were end of the lines or remaining stock kinda deal. Plus they were an additional 50% off. That is were I spotted my purchase(pics to follow). I tried them on and they fit great. They felt and were really high.(just the way I like em) And they looked sexy as hell on my feet. They were reduced to $50. And with the 50% off I scored them for $25!

One of my other for me time stops was a local thrift shop. That is where I spotted my second purchase of the day. I spotted this pair right off. They were like brand new. And the price was right at $15.

I am at home still smiling as I write this. Not only was my day uneventful. I got 2 new pairs of shoes for only $40. The only thing that would have made the day better was If someone had said something to me while I was out. I would love to chat up someone regarding my outfit or there's. But I guess I can't complain.

Anyhow! Feel free to comment. And here is a link to pics of the shoes that I purchased which I posted in the new shoes thread. Enjoy!

  7. Here are my latest purchases.

The first ones are from Aldo. They had been marked down to $50. But the bonus was that they were another 50% off. So I got them for $25. These shoes feel really high. And they look sexy as hell on my feet. The heel itself is 5 1/4" with a half inch hidden platform.

My next pair was purchased at a thrift shop for $15. The brand is 725 originals which I believe is a Walmart brand. They are shiny patent purple with a round toe. And the heel measures just over 4 inches, even though they look a lot lower in person.

Not bad at all. 2 pairs of heels for $40 total. Enjoy!

  8. Just got these nice boots from Aldo.

I saw them last fall and I fell in love at first sight. But the price was too high (They are in real leather)

They are now on sale (less than 50%) so I could not resist from buying them :)

It is too warn to wear them now but I will be ready for next fall !

Those look nice Daniel. And apparently you got them at a good price too. Enjoy!

  9. Just remembered that I just got these from my friend's house two days ago, so I guess I felt obliged to post them here. (NOTE: These are NO Designer heels). I ordered the boots from a site (last pair in stock) and the wedges from eBay (also the last in stock), so I feel pretty lucky to have the "last" pairs on the block! ;D

I also posted a lengthy post on my blog at the bottom, so be sure to check out the "after story" of the boots (soon, the wedges too! ;D

Can't say I am a fan of either of those Dude. But they are interesting none the less. Especially the boots.

  10. I think I may have hit a home run with my latest shoe purchase. I was browsing one of the local thrift shops when I spotted a pair of sandals in my size. They are leather faux snakeskin with a hint of purple. The had a clearance tag from the original retailer on them that said $72. And the original price was over $100. They were fairly new looking with just a hint of wear and tear. And they fit perfectly. And the best part of it is is that I walked out of there with them at the thrift store price of $10!

The shoes themselves are by Victor Alfaro. He is a fashion Designer of Mexican descent who now works out of the U.S.(thank you google). Apparently a lot of celebs wear his stuff. Online I was told they retail for around $90-100. And the cheapest I found was Ebay at $50.

Firstly, and most obviously, I want opinions on the shoes and my apparent bargain. And secondly, does any one have any experience with his designs of clothes and shoes? I mean if the celebs wear his stuff, and they are featured in "In Style" magazine, they must be good right?

Here is a couple of links.

  11. Mr. X: Indeed! It's why I so enjoy my little adventures, mainly because I never know just what will happen, or what someone will say to me. And that compliment on my bag truly took me by surprise.

I feel the same way when I am out and about.

  12. as I reached into my bag for my wallet, the cashier, a young woman rang grinned and said, "Nice bag."

Don't you just love getting little comments like that. I do admit is was strange of here to comment on the bag though the way you were dressed.

  13. Mr. X have you seen this thread yet? (Oh, add on here) you might not be able to see the whole thing but check out any ways.

The video is not available to me. But thanks for the link anyway. Sounds interesting.

Remember that it is far more difficult for an individual in high school to wear clothing that is "out of the norm" due to extreme social pressure from peers, than it is for us men in heels. Remember that this is where social programming occurs. Whoa to anyone expressing individuality.

    That is so true Shafted.

  14. These finally arrived today - Pleaser Domina 402 :)

After checking the fit, fitted them with metal heel tips (naturally lol). Had some D'orsay heels before but only with 5" heels - loved the way they felt and sounded (gave a great sound walking on a hard floor!) so I bought these as they're 6" :)

    Those look great!

  15. #101, 6/11/2011:

After dressing up to the nines last Sunday, I decided to tone things down a bit for today's outing

It's interesting how are mindset and wording of our postings change depending on how far each individual has progressed. Or where are comfort levels are at when we are out and about. Your at a level where a dress is considered dressed to the nines. Yet a skirt is considered dressed down.

Next guy comes along and says yesterday I was wearing my 5 inch heeled boots with jeans. I was toned down outfit wise. Today I switched it up and put on a skirt and loafers for the first time. I was dressed to the nines....lol

  16. Nice sandals. I never noticed that Winners were selling shoes !

I will make a visit there soon...Do you know if they carry size 11 ?

As far as I remember they only go to size 10 at Winners. Plus I am usually hard pressed to find anything I like. Only maybe a handful of my shoes are from Winners.
