  1. I'm always in regular guy's shoes and save my heels for indoors and in public in some selected parties. Since those shoes are so boring, heavy and uncomfortable, I prefer to not care about them. The only thing I do is to rotate their use so they breathe, what is good for my feet. Since I don't care about them, I don't even have a point to start here, so, I pass.

  2. I really don't care if the shoe looks feminine, masculine or neutral since I like them. For me, the most important thing about heeled shoes is the delicate appearance, the challenge and the different feelings you have when you wear them. All of its features are related to the most feminine looking ones. And there's nothing more appealing for my eyes and feet then a very good looking - "feminine" - challenging - stilletos - pointies - what else you want to add here - shoes.

  3. Dear friends In the next month I'll be in France to visit some wife's relatives and to know Paris as well. Since I'm a train addicted, I'm planning to take a ride in the Eurostar and take one day to know London. Yes, I know it's too short time but it's what fits in my budget and I have to give relatives in France some preference. I wish I could be in the World Heelmeet but it's not affordable for a while. Well, let's get to the subject... Since I'll have a very short space of time, some of you could help me and say if there's any store around or close (read as "you can go there walking") to the station where the Eurostar arrives, and that carries large sizes (US 14, I think it's UK 12?) and are men friendly? Sorry to bother you with this direct question, but I really need this shop to be close to the station, then I can spend as little time as possible and have time to know more places in London. Of course if someone have some spare time in october 1st (it's a wednesday) I'll be very happy to meet in London, just PM me. I'm planning to arrive 9AM and depart at 7PM after a pint, of course :o Many many thanks in advance for all your help! Flavio

  4. I want a pair of these, i just love that insane colouring scheme, hell it would even be nice to just put it on display and look at! My next purchase may very well be these ones!

I see some girls around here in Brazil wearing what seems to be a copy of this design thatotherguy!

They really look great in the girls feet, unfortunatelly they're not available in my size.

  5. I loved it too! It just doesn't need to cost as much as it does. Let's wait for some other brands to "copy" the design, make it a bit different (sometimes better then the original) and then we can buy it!

  6. I told my wife about the site in the same day I told her about my passion for high heels. She's absolutely ok with it, sometimes she asks me what are we discussing around here and even asks if I'm taking some spare time to come to the forum when I'm stressed at work. She doesn't want/need to participate and is not passioned for shoes, she wears high heels for work as an obligation and in the weekends to coordinate with her clothes.

  7. I think that no archaeologist has studied the origins of high heels thenselves, but some finds in google says some trends like: - women were celebrated for giving children in stone made pedestals and them decided to tie-up stones in the feet (I think this is scam) - workers (men) in fields attached wood stacks in the shoes to keep it clean (to be confirmed) About the modern heels as we know it have some contraditorious stories like beeing invented by Leonardo Davinci, Catherine de Medici or courtesans from the court of King Louis in France. The stiletto has first appeared in the 50s.

  8. In extreme heels, more then 4 inches, yes, my feet hurt a bit in the ball area. I was studying those insolia technology: 1) they're not available in Brazil 2) they're not available in sizes above 12 But I started reading about it and the concept. The secret is to reduce the weight that is shifted toward the balls of the feet, NOT to cushion that area in the shoe. To do it is simple (they say it's rock science): I tryied to insert some cushion in the arch area of my highest boots. The idea is to gently support the feet in this area. Since feet are different from person to person, the amount of cushioning is variable. The heel (of your foot, not the shoe's) is then shaped in the pointy position. This way, the heel of the shoe + the cushion in arches + the toe area receives a more distributed pressure. It worked great for me, I can wear and stand up a lot more time then I did with regular ball cushioning!!! It seems that modern shoes from good brands come with this arched shape in the sole (some come with insolia itself) and it helps a lot to distribute the pressure in the sole of your feet. I expect that this helps those that have pain with the highest heels. If some point is not clear, please ask.

1: Do you think the pants could work on a guy?

    Yes!

I've seen girls wearing pants like these everywere in Brazil, my wife incuded.

I think they coordinate very well with pumps, nice sandals and ankle boots, if a guy is wearing some of these shoe types, the pants will work for sure.

2: If so, maybe I could get some ideas for a top half that might work well with the pants and heels.

I think that a white regular well cut t-shirt that is a bit loose will work fine!

If it's cold, a leather jacket will complete the look.

  10. I liked the look a lot and want to thank DonnaWonna for the excellent find! I'm not gay, he seems to be gay, I don't care if he's gay, sometimes I wanted to be gay but I really like girls, not boys. What he really seems to be is a nice and fun guy to talk to if walking by California! And congratulate him for the coordinated look and stunning boots. Why in the hell people like to label others negativelly? Did Freud write something about it?

  11. Hey Flavio,

I think you meant John Galliano (Dior Haute Couture Designer) instead of Christian Dior. I have a feeling Dior would bring back the Guillotine if he saw a man in heels.

    Thanks for the info Ben!

I really made a mistake about it when thinking in Dior Homme heels for men from the last year collection.

  12. These lovely boots - and I say dreams as I can't afford something so pricey at the moment......

    Jealous here.

It's amazing the amount of wonderful shoes that are available in large sizes in North America. Here is Brazil is VERY hard to find them. And when find, as JeffB song said, they are very very ugly.

ShockQueen, I'm shocked on that stunning model.

  13. I never had to use boots or thick heels to feel comfortable. In the first night out in heels I prefeered a pair of stilleto sandals (no ankle support at all) that was 4 inch high and had a paddled insole that kept the balls of the feet away from burning. Sandals are not my favorite (I love boots) but they were very beautiful, classy, sexy, functional and my feet was fine after several hours standing on them. I prefeered the sandals because they were the most comfortable shoes I had, not because they were sandals! My advice is: try a shoe that you like (I don't feel good in comfortable shoes I don't like), whathever style (pump, sandal, boot, etc) that have a heel that you can walk confidently and that have comfort in the ball area. You will be ok for a lot of time and this gives you practice to try wild shoes next time.

  14. King Louis for me. I would take the time to say him to make a law prohibiting high heel shoes to be confined to women's feet. All other options are people that relate high heels with women (particularly Manolo) and I prefer not beeing in the same space with them. I would love to have this time with people like: - Jean Paul Gaultier - Christian Dior - Rui Leonardes - Marc Jacobs - Alexandre Herchcovitch (famous brazilian designer, has a heel colection)
