Maybe we get used tp it over time, but how many here got, or still get, that "suddenly taller" feeling when putting on heels. And I mean it was a rush, or even a turn on, where you were like "Wow, this is awesome". I am not a short guy, but still get the rush of standing so much taller in my heels. It really changes your body dynamics and gives this strange empowerment feeling. So of course I have gone for some ridiculous heels just for the fun of feeling NBA sized. The ones pictured are nuts, but have me soaring around the house. Curious to hear other's thought.
2,03m here (or 6ft8 for those imperial) so I already tower everybody in da place, use 9cm heels on a daily basis, 7cm when I'm on the low side. I'm called tall all the time so a bit more doesn´t change anything.
Just wear what you want and feel the power.

Just crossposting about my latest sandals. I'm too happy to wear them and not post in this good old thread.

These are getting a lot of wear. Obviously very eye catching without being too high, three inches block heels. Bought from the men's collection from Asos Design.
Got lots of compliments from men and women as well.
They're very plastic/synthetic on the upper and rubber soles but well made. Very comfortable. I really like them, don't know how much time will last.

It's not security as much as safety. The brown shoes in the photo are steel toed safety shoes.
I wanted to say safety but my Latin origins caught me again. In Portuguese (my mother language) we say "segurança" for both safety and security. 😃

Awesome! A lot of people have reevaluated their lives and how they want to live it over the last two years. Glad to hear you are in a supportive environment.
Yes, the last two years are big part of the decision in my case too.
3 hours ago, Jkrenzer said:So good. I've done the same thing now. Been wearing openly at work for nearly a year now. Have been no issues at all. My basic work attire now is, high end polo shirt, pants and 5 inch stiletto pumps. Classic pumps and mary janes mostly. No sandals or open toes. I keep 4 pair at my desk. Since it's a factory I'm limited to office only just like anyone else.
I'm in the information technology industry so no security restrictions.
Your Pumps look great on you, thanks for sharing. Very classy.
Since I don't change at work and I have to walk a lot, I'm more into boots and block heels for comfort, but also the overall look. It might change in the near future...

Hi everyone
I just want to let you know that, from this week on, I have started wearing high heels to work.
I'm on this forum since the beginning of the 2000's, have worn heels in public sometimes, have observed society reactions on the subject, have lived a hidden life, have shared some pictures with you.
Time has come. I work in a very supportive company where diversity is encouraged, so people will work better and be more creative, express how we are is very important.
I said beforehand what I was going to do, so people could get prepared and avoid bad laughs. After that, I just did it. Commuting, street walking in plain daylight in rush hours, going to take a lunch, believe me, I was nervous at first but it was a lot better and safer than doing it at night in empty streets with freaky bystanders. Needless to say, it was uneventful. Colleagues were supportive and welcoming. I felt normal.
For those who never did it, whatever the reason is, I'd like to say that living a real day in heels is a lot different than other types of outing. It's real life. It's hard to explain. It's vibrant, fun, I felt complete. Do it if you can do it safely and if you feel like.
This forum is a part of me, people here are inspiring. I'm happy because of what I did so you should know because you're part of it, my time to share.
So that's it - thanks to all.
Keep moving on.
Life is short.
Be yourself.

I have plenty of "socially men's" shoes because of... society. Around 6 or 7 pairs.
I have now 5 pairs of "passing" shoes (shoes that are more or less "manly") but are sold at the women's department. 3 pairs of boots, 2 pairs of clogs. Needless to say that I wear these 5 more than any other pair I have.
I don't count the "socially women's" shoes anymore because they're in a closed out of reach storage but I think about 10 pairs today.
Cheers

Today I had to fly from Paris( Orly,an airport I don’t like) fo Madrid.
Before boarding I bought a coffee and sat close to the counter I got it.
I heard a male voice at the coffee counter saying to his female coworker: “ the world is turning wrong side, look at the shoes of this guy!” She didn’t answer,or I didn’t heard. Then 5 minutes later he called a guy from the security, probably a friend of him( and same physical aspect) and said very loudly:” look at the shoes of that guy” Again I wasn’t able to hear the answer.
Sad that it happened to you at Orly. The comments were in what language?
I have to say that french society can get quite conservative easily and there's a macho culture around here that I just plain don't understand. Fragile masculinity and while women can be more open, some are conservative amongst other women (you shouldn't wear this or make something like that, you're not a teen anymore, etc) and can think that heels are their privilege, their right to be a woman, nothing screams femininity more than heels.
I got out like this on Halloween:
It was at a small mountain village where skiers and bikers are rule trying to look as manly as possible to their female counterparts.
I got looks. I got comments. Mostly bad comments (and a few quite good). My wife heard more than myself (I was too happy to mind).
Adults in France just thinks getting dressed for Halloween is for kids only (some women are allowed because, you know, women raise kids).
Yes, it needs courage to street-heel as a man in some countries/cities.
Paris is more open in some neighbourhoods but it's not the norm.
Well, keep doing whatever you want, I'm trying to.
Cheers

This is my final good bye post for hhplace, in the remote chance it'll impacty anyone reading.
First, we live in an increasingly decentralized world. Instead of relying on centralized sources for information, a new social media world that is very LGBTQ friendly, with way more protections than exist here has blossomed since 2006. Social media is very LGBTQ friendly. The protections are like an umbrella and spill over to men who wear heels. In 2006, there weren't many online community options for men who wear heels as men. In 2020, there doesn't even need to be special options anymore. Men in heels in such an integrated part into society's expectation for what is normal, it's astonishing. And the information is decentralized. On Instagram a search for the #heelsformen hashtag pulls up 2,256, #meninheelsevent hashtag pulls up 128 posts and #meninheels pulls up 64,803 posts. On TikTok a search for #meninheels, pulls up 50.5 million views. That's 33,180 views per day on average since TikTok's inception in September of 2016. Why spend time creating content for hhplace when I could create content for my own audience and possibly even monetize it, or at worst, get free product?
Second, on a more specific forum note, locking up JeffB's thread was the straw that broke the camels back for me. Locking up Thighbootguy's thread set the stage. Cancel Culture times two, literally. In 2006, hhplace's landing page used to say, "Whether you're a man, a woman, or in between, whether you wear high heels yourself or just like the looks of them. It doesn't matter, you've come to the right place". How times have changed.
Some may rationalize this is a forum for both men and women. It's like because that's what they say, they reality follows. That is not the case at all. The reality is men create the bulk of content that creates the page views, page clicks, and what little advertising revenue this site generates. And with the huge number of options available to females in the digital age, the probability they'll plant a flag at hhplace is low. That's the reality. For me, Tech's bat bashing, bull in a china shop mouth is no longer worth tolerating. He has never taken personal responsibility for his bat bashing, bull in a china shop mouth. He will no doubt say I'm being too sensitive, or misinterpreting his statements, or find some way to point the finger back at me. I guarantee it. Yo man, take responsibility for your reckelss mouth. The pattern hasn't changed since 2006. Tech rocks the boat when there is no need to rock the boat. Besides his professional contributions to keeping the site running, his unruly mouth knows no bottom.
I'm not going to build someone elses audience, page views, page clicks when my voice means little to such a reckless mouth.
May hhplace live well on into the future. I wish no ill will on anyone here, but after nearly 20 years here, multiple in Real Life Heel Meets, and lots of evangelizing, my time here has expired.
Best,
Kneehighs
I hope you still read this kneehighs
I have you as friend after all these years in hhplace.
I do understand your message. People change, society changes, this forum is private and has rules set by the owner.
I'm not posting too frequently here, I do crossdress sometimes and I'm free to do what I want. If the owner doesn't like it, patience, I won't post anything that offends him and his policy, and I understand his side. Other places and forums are not always welcoming to people that are only interested in fashion and there's a tendency of going to the fetish side. Human relations are complex.
But I like this place because I met genuine people that taught me that wearing heels (or anything else) is not harmful and, the opposite, it's good for the soul. So I'll keep coming and try to encourage more people to wearing heels.
Keep up mate. I really hope to crossroads with you in real life one day.
Feeling a bit sad, sorry... it's like a part of me that disappeared.
Flavio
For Tech - I really would like if a part of the forum were dedicated to non-binary people, like we have for men and women. And that you change the policy to forbid nudity, for example. People are not black and white. I really miss kneehighs, thighbootguy and JeffB. Please, consider.

I'm fortunate my marriage is going stronger and wearing heels more frequently helps it because I feel better with myself, so I can feel better with whom I love.
So if you're forced to give up something you like, heels or anything else, it's not worth it and I strongly recommend to settle the issue or leave.
Life is too short. And everyday I understand that I'm in the right direction.

Tell us more if you want, have you ever worn heels outside after your first outing?

just bought these beauties. Size EU 47 (more like 48, I use to wear around here).
I'm in Milano Italy for a conference and visited the physical store of Ghigo Calzature. Their physical store has the same stock as the website. They have a great customer service. I could try them on at the store (and several other great models).
Heels are thin 5 inch stilettos, leather is stretch, they fit like socks, no zippers, easy to get in. Really comfortable and soles are strong, good arch support. Goes to the knees.
I'm really happy. They are a dream come true. First time I go to a store to try heels that are beautiful at my size. I just had to share this moment with all of you.
I'm sure these will get a lot of wear.

Not sure which of these 3 is the best...
I'd like something between 2 and 3, but that's me and I think that you should be who you are and wear what you want.
I like 2 because you don't appear as a "straight hourglass", like, girls have more an hourglass figure when they're slim. In your picture number 1 you have almost the same look but not curvy. It seems a bit odd to me .
Picture number 3 is good because the jacket created the "curvy" look and the belt created a proper waist, making you look taller and not too skinny. I'd just change for a colour that matches the skirt better. Or just go for a dress.
Anyway, you're an inspiration to me.

@p1ng74 seems to have happened at Palais de Tokyo, not too far from where I work. Didn't know in advance though, would be nice to watch, Rick Owens is always a step ahead (pun fully intended).

Some nice styles, for men. I wonder if they are any different to the woman's versions, or rather exactly the same?
They're all the same.
Can be custom made (100 € extra fee) by sending all measures of feet and several parts of the leg. In my case that's what I did and they fit just perfectly, having tried a ready to wear pair before, but my legs are more to the gigantic side, they should fit most people.

Yes, I noticed that Fernando is really making a great showing of men in boots. There are several new videos, but they won't be out for awhile....
Sure, and his products are top quality and goes up to EU 47 (around US 15), my model 113 boots are 47.
Only problem (I'd say barrier) it's the price tag. But you get what you pay for, everything is real leather, inside-out and made in Portugal. And they love their male customers.

I lost more than 20 years of my life for fear of wearing what I want. It's been 2 years of public display of heels now.
After the first couple of times it gets easy and you just don't care about what others think.
Life is too short, go for it.
(and be prepared for some compliments, yes they come)
