  1. Glad things worked out, but if this also happened to your neighbor I'm thinking the construction is poor. One reason i won't buy a home built after 1970. To keep costs down builders really skimp on materials. Modern home construction is sub par.

  2. It's been awhile since I've posted, so I think it's time for a little update. I managed to get out tonight for the first time probably since my last post. I wore some black leggings with my black aldo booties (sorry no pictures) went out shopping! Nordstrom, dsw and a few other small stores, I didn't end up buying anything but I was very delighted to see the shelves weren't empty! For the first time since covid started the shelves were full and I could actually shop. Was a short fun outing cant wait for the next one!

  3. I’ve tucked the bottoms of my jeans into socks - it’s a handy expedient

  4. Looks great to me. I have that issue sometimes with the jeans. I supposed skinnier jeans or leggings would be better. I have also seen girls tuck their jeans into their socks, maybe that's a quick and easy solution? Anyway, the boots look suits you!

  5. Agreed. I also have a pair of black flat OTK suede boots, just a few inches over the knee. They are very "normal" looking.

  6. Suede softens the look of a thigh boot. And a lower thigh boot helps too - a few inches or less over the knee

  7. Same here. Always looked a little too "prostitutish" to me... (No offense...), Or cheap looking, especially with the patent look. But then I saw this beautiful stiletto style boot, black suede. Very classic looking, and they really looked good And on special. So, I took the leap

  8. You are correct, there were plenty of tucked in pants in the 1980s, girls only of course. But it wasn't nearly 100% of the time like it is now. I think it's because the usual cut of pants back then gave you a choice, inside or outside. Also, there was not "leggings as pants" back in those days. Today you almost have to go inside, unless you specifically buy a bootcut jean. I see them less and less.

  9. I've never had a desire to own thigh high boots, but the way the snow keeps falling here today, I might need some! This is getting ridiculous.

  10. So cool, haven't gotten any compliments in awhile...Except the other day, while passengers were boarding my flight, a young guy said: "nice boots sir".... I looked down quickly, he had a nice pair of cowboy boots as well, I told him I like his boots as well. Oh well, was only wearing my Tony Lamas, but was happy to have a compliment. I was very careful to spot the fellow while deplaning and said: "take care of those nice boots buddy....". My coworker looked at me strangely, I advised her that us boot guys are a tight knit group indeed...

  11. I wear these boots with 2.5” heels, and I switch to higher heels if I have to go get a part lol.

  12. I know what you mean. As a guy I do like wearing high boots. I wear my crotch and knee high boots around London and elsewhere. Yes you do get noticed and get many compliments from both women and men as crotch highs are not that common. All my boots have to be custom made. The boots in the photo are 75 cm (30 inch) tall on the inside rising to 85cm/34inch on the outside. The heels are 9cm (3.75inch high). Really comfortable to wear these boots all day.

  13. Seeing nice heels out and about in my very ordinary London suburb is rare. I might see 4" stilettos once or twice per year. 2.5" block heels are commonplace. Today I saw something even more unusual. Genuine thigh high boots. Not just OTK but well up the thigh, I couldn't see the tops of them under her coat. No heel, but can't have everything. Somewhat similar to these: https://www.overknee-stiefel.net/product/long-overknee-lady-olga/ She wasn't young or stylishly dressed, though I couldn't see what was under her coat. The boots weren't highly polished. All utterly ordinary except for the

  14. Not new boots but new pictures of old boots,14 years old to be exact and still look like new. These are mens size 9.5,crotch high, made with thick leather and very well constructed. They have a 1/2 inch platform to offset some heel height. I these are made by motorcowboy.com and I have no regrets. They were bought off of an ebay auction for 1/2 price. Check em out as this is the toughest pair of boots that I have ever owned.

  16. Still working on my outdoor camera angles. Today was the second time back at work since last March, been virtual. Only there for only a very few minutes to drop something off. As I was getting back into my car a young male told me "those are some really nice boots, I mean I got my mother boots like that for Christmas - but not as nice, so I know those are really nice". I thanked him and got back into my car and drove off.

  17. It's been awhile since I've posted. Been a very busy last few months at work. Managed to get out today wore my aldo boots to do alittle shoping/errands. I hope I will have more time for heels next year! Considered wearing these instead but I was liking the boots more for how much walking I had to do!
