  1. I had a chance to wear the b.o.c. Apple wedges pictured above for some shopping today. While I have had a couple pairs of wedges in the past, that was prior to me taking my heel wearing public, so I never really had much real experience walking in them. I now understand when the ladies (and guys here) talk about the greater comfort of wedges despite their height. These were very comfortable and stable to walk in despite the 4" heel height (mitigated I admit by a small platform under the forefoot). Typically, after an hour and a half of shopping and walking about, my feet would be aching an

  3. Unfortunately, I know exactly what your going through. It hasn't been 6 months since I lost my mother. I'm still recovering from the emotional & physical toll of it all. It still isn't over as her will was deemed invalid, probate has been postponed, hidden taxes she owed came out of nowhere, and we are still fighting to keep her house from being confiscated for back taxes. It has been a slow, stressful process, but hopefully it will be resolved soon. I want to get away from all this stress and get back to the fond memories I have of her...

  6. i'm not sure what summer it was, summer of 2015 or earlier, i was at the cottage for July and August and getting a very nice tan! if memory serves, it was one of those weekends in August when my gal pal called and begged me to please come visit. i left my cottage paradise on a Friday and drove to the city, stopping at the last enRoute on highway 400 before the city. of course the reason for the stop was to change from cottage wear to white 6 inch spike heels wear! i went into the men's washroom, ducked into the biggest stall and wiggled into my dark blue skinny jeans and a black t shirt an

  7. Just to be clear, I was aware that you had an injury in the past, the exact details of which I of course don’t know. However, the humorous way in which you referred to it gave me a bit of a chuckle.

  8. Yes, this theory makes some sense....Also uses the heat off your legs to help dry the boots gently..... Post some pics of the Frye boots and how the fit your legs, with and without jeans.... I love Frye boots, but they seem to run a little small, tough to find in larger sizes....Surely worth an attempt to make them fit you better....Wondering if a good shoe/boot cobbler might have some suggestions also...

  9. It's because you don't have a body that contains many pieces of titanium, polypropylene, nylon, teflon, .....My hand was experimental surgery, one of the first of it's kind in the world when it was done. It was after the first experimental surgery failed, at that time only 2 of the 28 surgeries of that version failed. The damage was too bad to begin with.

  10. From what I was reading, the idea of wearing them after soaking them is to keep them from shrinking too much. What I was reading suggested that they’ll shrink regardless of you wearing them as they dry, but using your feet/legs as a form. This way if they did shrink a considerable amount, it wouldn’t be too much so as to make it uncomfortable to wear.

  11. I think the first method may work ok, given enough time, which you obviously have. However, I cannot understand how actually wearing the boots after you get them soaked could possibly do anything but stretch them out further. I mean, unless you sat in one spot and didn't move for several hours. I would just try letting them dry without wearing them. Possibly put them under an incandescent lamp to provide a minimal amount of heat. I think you are right to be reluctant to use a hair dryer, even on low.

  13. on my last weekend outing i was thinking about my brand new Pleaser brand 7 inch heels but when i put them next to my 7.5 inch heels from Highest Heel, i just had to go with my 7.5's! here are my new Pleaser 7 inch heels: i bought them last September before i took my 7.5's in for a tune up and a paint job. the gal i was going to see in September was extra special and so i wanted to be sure i was at the top of my game and wearing some very flashy shoes plus everything else. i loved what she said: you can drive in those?!!! yes i do like these 7 inch heels but i

  14. @mlroseplant I hoping I wont have to use this portable laser treatment forever. Maybe once a week just to be sure. The laser worked thru polish as well. Most of those other treatments kill the fungus but not the spores and those can take weeks to emerge then re-infect. That's why you have to do a "program of treatments" to kill the spores as the emerge. For me this has been 3 times a day for the first two weeks, once a day since. I saw significant difference after the first week. Now I'm just waiting for my nails to grow out. It can spread from one nail to another, from you to your

  15. So sorry to hear about your Mom, she was lucky to have you....Sad times indeed, please take care of yourself while tending to the sad job of dealing with your Mom's estate. Perhaps you can treat yourself to a pair of heels to enjoy while dealing with everything. Seems like the stores are reopening, perhaps there is a good deal waiting for you.... Please take good care of yourself, your Mom is looking down wanting you to be OK....

  16. Height is out of my range, but they look nice! With stores finally open, I was able to pick these up Friday. Apple by b.o.c., size 11, 4" wedge heel. Got them on sale at DSW for $19.99. I've never really been a big wedge fan, but I tried these on last fall and liked the way the felt and walked in the store. Nicely padded in the ball of foot which helps with my medication related foot issues. Didn't buy them at the time as they wanted $50 and it was going into winter with no real chance to wear them. Looked again back in February but they were still $40 then and still being winter, a

  17. Was out ealier in the sun, with my Aldo handbag ,skinny jeans and the ted bakers sandals in the pic. Just before i arrived home i was caught by one of my female neghbours and been showing my toes public for the last few days. Cant wait to get them done professionally and a manicure too. I was ,"caught" by one of the security guys on my estate in skirt , fishnet tights and flats 2 days ago in the evening lol, after a brief outing to the shops which was a first in a skirt. I have carefully tried to avoid my neighbours and other people on my estate for the last 2 month I've been

  21. These would be the girliest shoes I have at the moment. Haven't had much chance to wear them except in the bedroom a few times. These are by Vince Camuto and I bought them at a going out of business sale for $19.99, regular $165.00. Right place, right time.

  23. Hey, I've been away a while, from this site, and from LA. My mom was diagnosed with cancer in early March, so I came to St. Louis to care for her. Unfortunately, she passed away May 5th, and I am still in StL managing her estate and selling off her property. I miss my shoes, I miss my friends, and I miss normalcy. It seems, especially after last week in Minneapolis, that 2020 is truly a cursed year, and as things fell apart here at home, they fell apart out there with commensurate rapidity. Currently taking care of business, and I have family to help me through this, but just thought I'd say t
