  1. I purchased these today in a thrift store. They are burgundy color and leather looking high-rise pants with slim straight legs. I could tell they were brand new because all the original sales tags and size stickers were still attached. They had a $60 store tag on them, and they were being sold for less than $15 in the thrift store. There is no change rooms there so I was not able to try them on. But the fact that they were my size, I was pretty sure they would fit. When I got them home, I immediately tried them on. And just like I thought they fit great from the knee up. But the problem is below the knee. They keep rising up. I'm starting to wonder if they're an inch or 2, too short? So I posted some pictures of me wearing them with heels so I could get some opinions from others here on the fit and length.

  2. No picture this week, so I had to take a couple of poor quality screenshots from the church livestream. It is an interesting time in the life of our church, as we presently have no music director, no education director, and no pastor. We are getting a new pastor, but not until August, and there are as of yet no likely applicants for the other two key positions. As a result, people like me have to take on a bit more responsibility than usual.

  3. Well, I never thought it would happen, but I have started to warm to open toe sandals. I was reluctant because it seemed like such a fuss to do "correctly." Well, without getting into all the nitty-gritty of it, it tried it and I was quite surprised by the outcome! I would be inclined to believe that the maintenance to ensure that the look is desirable is much, but, in the end, worth it for the summer. So, here is my first try at it.

  4. Yes the more you do, the more second nature it becomes. It feels quite odd to me sometimes taking my heels off at the end of the day

  5. It is at least interesting to know what sorts of activities involve actually walking a lot versus those that just seem like it. I've never worked in an office before, but I've built a lot of office buildings. With the job I'm at right now, I'm lucky to get in 5,000 steps by the end of the day, even though I'm on my feet 95% of the time. When I was foreman at a building which was 400 meters long and sometimes had crews at opposite ends of it, it was very difficult to NOT get at least 10,000 steps in a day. Outside of work, it is completely dependent on a) how lazy I am, or b) whether I have lawns to mow. That activity does add a lot of steps. I guess I should mention that we have only walk behind mowers. As far as walking in heels, I guess I've never personally known anyone who walks in heels as much as I do, so I can't really compare notes. I have a feeling that the secret to my heeling success is based on just sheer number of hours spent walking.

  6. Those boots are amazing, great heels indeed, my favorite classic styling, love the chains as well! Looks like the link to your blog was removed though... What brand are the boots, what size do you wear? How are they to walk in? Sorry for all the questions, love those boots. D
