  1. Today
  2. Here’s a better view of JS Dany in the chocolate brown. These are size 11 and have a 5.7”/11cm chunky heel.
  3. Likewise, really like 5 inch T-Straps but like Chorlini classic 5 in closed toed pumps for me. I do have several pair of boots I'm Pebblesf would like, but it's summer time now.
  4. Stilettos, over 12cm minimum, no platforms. If it's chunky its not a high heel to me.
  5. It has been a long while since anybody has posted here. I have a few pair to catch up on, so I will try to get those posted soon. Up for inspection today are my Steve Madden Britt single strap sandals in electric blue. Not something that I would normally buy, but I've always wanted to try this style, and I saw these on Poshmark for $25. I actually received them about two months ago, but haven't pressed them into service until this week. They feature 4 1/2" heels which are pretty slim at 5/16" in diameter. You don't get a whole lot more "stiletto" than that. Of course there is no platform, so you get the full steepness afforded by that heel height. In many ways, they are the same to walk in as several other styles of Steve Madden that use the same basic design, but I think if I were actually paying good money for these, I would have gone down half a size. These are 9, and I really could use an 8 1/2. After a time, I get a slight gap behind my heel, causing the ankle strap to work harder than it ought to, which causes my skin underneath the ankle strap to suffer. They are not super uncomfortable, I wore them for a couple of hours with no real issues, but they certainly did not wow me in the comfort department. I'll see how they do next time I wear them. To be fair, I did not vet them at all before I wore them outside, and that can often end badly. I got by with it this time.
  6. I have always wanted a single strap, closed heel sandal. All the girls are wearing them. OK, maybe 10 years ago. I did not envisage that my foray into this style would be electric blue velveteen, but there it is. I seem to have the opposite problem from the rest of youse. The single strap across the toes doesn't bother me, it's the ankle strap that causes me some discomfort. After a time, it starts digging into my skin, but only while actually walking. Part of the problem may be that these are size 9, and I really need an 8 1/2 in this style. Perhaps a ball-of-foot pad might remedy this, but it seems unlikely that I will wear these a whole lot, so it may not be worth messing with. They are actual leather, so it may become necessary to use such a fitment aid in the future if I wish to wear them at all.

  8. This is what I refer to as large or thick toe box. Shoes with un-adjustable straps and pumps cut my toe tendons. I have had a little relief using a strip of dense foam under the strap. The foam coming from packaging of new shoes. I got this idea from a woman shoe sales associate in a Women's Macy's who was using tissue paper. I put my heels on early in the morning and go off to work. Many times I have them on until late at night, 9:30 pm, so this method does not work long enough. I will sometimes use this method with adjustable straps.
  9. I so want a pair of red ankle boots, a white pair as well!
  10. I am partial to boots with tall shafts. I love nice block heels, as well as classic stiletto styling with pointed toes...
  11. My wife loved that style. She managed to convince my daughters to appreciate that feminine looking style. She also bought a couple of pairs for me. But, I cannot wear that style because the strap across the vamp doesn’t like the shape of my feet. Very uncomfortable for me. 😳
  12. All styles are my favorites. Particularly styles and colors of “girls shoes” that I can wear without drawing excessive attention. Loafers, sandals, pumps and wedge heels offerings.
  13. I love the look but I just can't wear that shoe. I always get soreness in the area of the strap on top of my foot. All my weight (175 lbs) is reacted in a small area.
  14. If it was red week last week, I guess it is blue week this week. Part of that has to do with what happens to be hanging in my wardrobe that hasn't been worn in a while. I still haven't got things 100% back to the way they were before I was compelled to move everything when we had to have our sewer line replaced. So I figured, "All right, let's do blue this week." Then I realized I've only got one pair of blue shoes left. The other, which I sort of had in mind when I thought I'd do blue, disintegrated within a very short period of time and I had to throw them out. I'm still somewhat disappointed by that. The one remaining pair is ok, but I need to wear a bandaid in a certain spot, or it rubs holes in my foot. While I was trying to remember where that spot was, it occurred to me, "Hey, wait a minute. You've got a brand new pair of blue shoes you ain't even worn yet." And indeed, I did. I bought these Steve Madden Britt sandals a couple of months ago. The only problem was that they were unvetted. I had briefly tried them on when I first got them, but it is risky to wear something like that out into the real world. I threw a couple of bandaids into my pocket, loaded up the car, and headed out. It was fine. Sometimes you get by with stuff.
  15. I’m far more understated. Black, brown or dark grey suede are my choices
  16. Knee boots with chunky heels

  20. Ah MDW - my old neighborhood - off the NE corner of the runways! Boots - Inferno from Raye (top)/Sorbern (bottom w/black & white skirt). Thanks for the vote! Gorgeous outfit - I guess I am going to have to step up my game! 😁❤️
  21. Loving those boots and jeans! What a great outfit! Those boots get my vote for sure, what brand are they?
  22. From Midway or O'hare? Love those boots!
  23. So here is my first of many to come! Boots by Aldo, dress is Lululemon Define, wristlet is Guess My usual Chicago to Tampa trip. Kinda bummed, only 2 comments about my boots, both in the TSA line, no negative comments. Look forward to talking with people. Will post some more pics soon!
  24. So, if they are truly branded 'Crocks', they are not made by 'Crocs' - but probably someone's idea of passing-off as a 'Crocs' product.
  25. I am not surprised by your initial findings. As the width/diameter of a heel top piece doubles, its area quadruples and the pressure exerted for a given weight of wearer reduces to one-quarter of the original. Allowing for 'rocking' and other differences, a five-fold increase in durability sounds about right. But of course one's gait and the composition of the top-piece will likely make a lot of difference to overall longevity. Your more detailed findings should be interesting - some PhD material there if the University of Life is receptive.
  26. As a update, after reading these posts, I took a second careful look again at this pair last night. There is a small label fastened to the tongue showing that they were made in Vietnam, size “11W.” And the only other printing on th shoes is the Crocks label and the remark “Duel Comfort.” The brand name “Crocks”is embedded into the sole. The overall appearance kinda resembles “Chuck-a boots.” I decided, while getting dressed this morning, to wear them to church. I usually wear a less obvious pair of girls shoes every Sunday. My black or brown Nine West Penny Loafers with 1 1/2 inch heels, for example (nothing as stylish or flamboyant as Mlroseplant ). No problem during the service and none at the restaurant where I ate Sunday dinner afterwards. I believe that I am going to enjoy this pair,
