JeffB Posted December 25, 2006 Author Posted December 25, 2006 Hi Jeff How do those rsvp pumps compare size for size with Pleaser pumps? I take a size 15 in Pleaser pumps and I see that 15 is the largest size that you can get the rsvp pumps. Do you wear the same size in the rsvp pumps as you do with Pleaser ? To answer your question, I've worn Pleasers in the same size (14 medium) as the rsvp pumps, though the former sports a higher heel. However, I must admit that the rsvp's were noticeably more comfortable than the Pleasers for long stretches. If you decide to experiment with rsvp, do so quickly as certain sizes from Zappos tend to sell out quickly, but I think you'll find rsvp to be a nice shoe that's worth the money. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
JeffB Posted December 31, 2006 Author Posted December 31, 2006 Well, folks, I was at it again! With a little free time to kill before today's football games, I decided to go on an outing at the mall, this time, I wore the mega sharp "Radar" boots I recently bought from Payless which I had been dying to wear. Below are pics I took before going out: I was very pleased with both the look, and the feel of these boots with their slender, four inch heels and pointed toes, resulting in a tremendous amount of pleasure I got from wearing them. I wore the boots for over four hours (including time spent taking pictures in them before I left) and they didn't cause any discomfort. Given the cut and length of the jeans I wore, the boots were easily seen by everyone at the mall, and yet, other than a few odd looks and double takes here and there, no one raised anything in the way of a fuss, but then, I never expected reactions anyway. That got me to thinking: Sometimes I'll wear my long jeans which hides almost everything, and other times, I'll wear the shorter jeans which shows almost everything. It all depends on what mood I'm in when I dress for an outing. I don't worry about what people think when they see me in heels, that train left the station long ago, I just go about the business of enjoying my outings, standing head and shoulders over the crowd like I did today. After a year away from "the passion", I had forgotten how much fun outings in heels really are! So it felt great to be out and about again! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Mr. X Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Nice boots JeffB. And nice picture of you in the boots.

Happy New Year everyone Jim JSpikeheels
JeffB Posted December 31, 2006 Author Posted December 31, 2006 you beat me to it..Jeff..those are my everyday boots for doing my pickups/deliveries..as remarked elsewhere, I love them so much I bought a second pair before they disappeared into the spring styles Ahh, yes! I do remember your having bought the Radar boots! And you have two pairs? I'm envious since I was lucky to have found one, and chances are they won't ever be seen again, so I'm going to treasure the pair I have as they're really cool! I look forward to seeing those pics you promised! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
JeffB Posted January 1, 2007 Author Posted January 1, 2007 Here's a couple more pics of me wearing the Payless "Radar" boots: Enjoy! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
highheellover Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 good lookin boots jeffb. Girls and heels rock.
johnieheel Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 U DA MAN Jeffb! Nice look. real men wear heels
JeffB Posted January 2, 2007 Author Posted January 2, 2007 Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I appreciate your kind words, all of which gives me encouragement to go on more outings in the future! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
dr1819 Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 If you decide to experiment with rsvp, do so quickly as certain sizes from Zappos tend to sell out quickly, but I think you'll find rsvp to be a nice shoe that's worth the money. Agreed. I've a couple pair from RSVP that are quite nice. I've steered clear of the pointed toes, though, as they don't fit nearly as well as the rounded toes in my size (my foot in pointy RSVPs tends to cant off to one side).
JeffB Posted January 3, 2007 Author Posted January 3, 2007 Yet another outing----this time, a weekday trip! Yesterday I had the day off from work for a doctor's appointment (don't get worried, just my annual check-up), by the time I was finished, it was around 11 a.m., so, on a whim, I went back to the house, changed into the following outfit and decided to cruise out to the mall: Because of work, weekends present the only time I have to indulge in outings, and even then, those occasions are rare because of family commitments, so going to the mall during the week offered me an all new adventure. Also, I wanted to see what the rsvp "Crysta" pumps looked like with the long jeans, and they presented a nice image similar to the legions of women who sport heels with long jeans. Being at the mall on a weekday was certainly different, not as crowded as on weekends, fewer teenagers, though little kids seemed to be more in attendance, seemed quieter too. Those factors helped to lend a more relaxing experience for me during my outing, and I made sure to travel the length and breath of the mall so I could be seen, and since I had on tan knee highs on, there was no mistaking what I had on my feet for all to see. Predictably, I got more than a few second glances, odd looks, twisted heads and double takes during my outing, nothing I wasn't already used to. However, the regular routine was broken when I paused in front of a department store and sat on a bench outside the main entrance to check my cell phone for messages. As is my habit (subconsciously I think), I crossed my legs so passersby could see the pumps, apparently that attracted the attention of saleslady from the store who was out on a break I'm guessing. Approaching me, she waved timidly so I'd notice her. This is how the conversation went: Saleslady: Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice that you're wearing pumps. I've never seen a man wearing women's shoes before. May I ask why? Me: Sure. I like to wearing women's shoes. nothing more complicated than that. Been doing it for years. Do you find it strange? S: Well, perhaps a little. It's certainly different. If you don't mind my asking, what size are those? You see, I work in the Ladies' shoe department and those look large. M: They are large, size 14. I bought them over the Internet. Outside of Payless which doesn't have much in the way of a good selection over 11, it's impossible for me to buy shoes in stores. I'd kill to wear Nine West which I think makes the best looking pumps around. I'll bet your shoes only go up to 11. Am I right? S: You are. Since I'm in the trade, I know shoes go up to 12, sometimes 13, but I've never heard of women's shoes going up to 14. That's amazing. Are the comfortable? M: Yup. I wouldn't wear heels if they weren't. Comfort is everything to me. S: I can understand that. I'm guessing those heels are around four inches. Did it take a long time for you to learn how to walk in them? M: Not long. All it took was practice. People seem to think that men can't manage to wear heels of any height, but I'm proof it can be done. What's more, I'm not alone. Lots of men wear heels, they're not just as public about it as I am. S: I see. That's impressive. Well, I have to go back in. By the way, we do carry Nine West. A shame they don't come in your size, you certainly know good shoes when you see them. I wouldn't mind having you for a customer. hae a nice day. M: You too. Not bad, eh? That was the very first person I had a chance to chat with since I returned to "the passion", I surprised myself by how easy it was to chat with a complete stranger about heels. I had forgotten just how much fun that was. I would've stayed longer, but I had to get out of the area before the afternoon rush hour started. All in all, that daytime trip was quite enjoyable for me. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
rxrenesis Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Great Jeff. What mall was it? If the shoe fits BUY IT http://s10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/rxrenesis/Shoe%20Shots/
JeffB Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 Great Jeff. What mall was it? That would the King of Prussia Mall in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, said to be the second largest mall in the U.S. after only Minnesota's Mall of America. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
JeffB Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 Wow, she's one of the few brave enough to strike up a conversation with a man in heels. Nice. As opposed to fulfilling a potentially negative stereotype, I'm sure your demeanor and poise sent the opposite message. Well, I certainly hope I did. Heh! I could tell she was driven by curiosity to approach me in the first place, and I was willing to answer her questions to the very best of my ability. A refreshing change from the hordes of people who ignore me during the course of my travels. And while I was poised, inside, I was quite nervous since I had been out of practice when it came to discussing heels with strangers, so that first plunge into the deep end of the pool worked out well. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
stilettolover Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 JeffB, Congrats on your outing. I recently moved to the "burbs" of middle Tenn. , and I know that, unless I go to the big city of Nashville, people here just aren't ready for that kind of encounter. Someday I will again be able to be a little more public about my passion, but for now, I just have to be satisfied with hearing about yours and other's great experiences through the forum. Happy new year, and heel on! Heels Are GRRREAT!!! S.L.
rxrenesis Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I've strolled that mall in heeled boots. maybe a stare or two but no comments. If the shoe fits BUY IT http://s10.photobucket.com/albums/a145/rxrenesis/Shoe%20Shots/
Guest Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 on the day after Christmas (12-26-06) I strolled in My mall (THE SHOPS @ MISSION VIEJO, a SIMON owned mall btw) with my black DEMONIA platform boots black mens skinny levis (but jeans OVER these boots with those pants) black sweatshirt (got that along with a grey one for xmas) & long black WOMENS trenchcoat I had gotten from a thrift store for only $25.00 I too had gotten a few stares but with all the people on that day @ mall with gift exchanges & using their gift cards (like me) but I really couldnt care less how many stared or for what reasons I had a great day!
Dawn HH Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 JeffB:-) Your "Radar" boots are a great look for you. I particularly like the design embossed into them. A great style detail that adds to the luxurious look of them. I find that when I wear an exta extended toe box such as that that I have to spend a bit of extra "Break-in" time at home before I wear them out in public as the toes catch a bit when new until the soles and toe-boxes get a curvature in them from wearing. Then I can wear them out. Part of that can be because I drag my right leg a bit since my stroke and heart attack, especially when it gets tired and I must be conscious of that and try to compenate for it. Because of my health, I haven't been able to streetheel in public for many months. But New Years Eve gave Mickey and I a first chance in a long time to start back streetheeling with a dinner and the movie, "Casino Royale". Mickey says that I did well for not wearing heels out in such a long time. I need to get out more and practice more. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!

And wasn't the new Bond every bit as good as the previous ones? Personally, I think both Connery and Brosnan made better Bonds, but I'm not knocking the current Bond, as he's quite good! Jeffb, glad to hear you encounter at the mall was positive. While shopping for heels at DSW (discount shoe warehouse) during the holidays, I came across several younger salespeople who were not used to men looking for heels. They were good, though, and adapted rapidly (sometimes withing a few seconds) such that they treated me the same as they would any other customer.
Dawn HH Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Dr1819:-) Any of the Bond flicks are great as far as I'm concerned and quite entertaining. I have about half of them on tape, so you can see I'm a Bond fan. I think the stunts in the new Bond film are fantastic and look quite dangerous to perform. One thing I missed in this film was the phrase---"Shaken, not stirred". Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!

They were good, though, and adapted rapidly (sometimes withing a few seconds) such that they treated me the same as they would any other customer. And the reason for that is because you're willing to spend your hard earned money on something you want to buy, so it behooves them to treat you with respect like every other shopper who comes into their store. If you got good customer service during your visit, that might result in follow-up visits while shoddy customer service will steer you away for good. Simple as that. Aside: While I'm partial to Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Criag wasn't too bad, even though I hoped Hugh Jackman (Wolverine from the X-Men movies) would step into Bond's tuxedo. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
NewfieGuyInHeels Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 All with the exception of "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" That one (staring George Lazenby) was the pits. It was the longest of the Bond Films, drawn out, not even that full of action, and there's just something about Bond being married that doesn't sit right, besides the fact he was duped into it. as far as I'm conerned that film never should've happened. http://s77.photobucket.com/albums/j78/darthraze/

JeffB Posted January 7, 2007 Author Posted January 7, 2007 That was very cool reading. I wonder what I'd do if people asked me Thanks for the kind words. Well, at the risk of making a complex issue like wearing heels in public sound simpler than it really is, all I can suggest to go do it and see what happens. I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
