adorn Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 What does everyone think of these shoes? http://www.shoesusa.com/product_detail.php?prod_id=494 http://www.shoesusa.com/product_detail.php?prod_id=719 I'm usually not crazy about anything with a platform, but I think these are really cute. I think the mules (2nd link) would look good with jeans. They're awfully pricy, but it's rare for me to find something like this that comes in my size. And they look very well-made. Seems they build them to order here in the U.S. Oh, and now I just saw these: http://www.shoesusa.com/productWithPrefilledOptions.php?prod_id=444&img_name=JULIE205N_hozoevc7.jpg Not so much of a platform. Maybe with brown suede and the bottom color in "natural"?
new_look Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 not a platform fan for my personal style, but i like the styling enough to say id wear em!
kennard Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Hello, everyone. I'd wear them, too. K. If the high heel shoe fits, wear it!
asdf174 Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Those are kinda cool. I've own similar pairs. It's all good. ~Arron.
terayon Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 the first 2 arent neccessarily my style, but the 3rd one is not bad.
Dr. Shoe Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Gorgeous. I already have four pairs of their shoes, they go out under the name "Kiss and Tell". Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Heelson Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Hi Dr Shoe does that mean that you know of somewhere UK based where they can be bought?? (the first link particularly). Apart from your garage workshop of course!!
sexyplatforms Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Dear Adorn, I like the shoes in the first link - they have a classy and sexy look. My fave in that selection is the style bottom right in the pictures (with the ankle strap) - v. pretty. SP.
luxxyheels Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I like the ones in the first link. If I was to get a pair, I'd get the brown ones. I think they'd look good with jeans.
Shafted Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Nothing I'd wear, but they're not bad looking at all. If I saw these on somebody's feet, they'd get my attention. Shafted, the boots that is! Bubba136 Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 I agree about the first link. I would buy the camel colored pair. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
jim Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 I own only one pair of platts but then Im not a big fan of them. I'm pleased you like 'em but there's nothing here to tempt me into buying another pair. jim
Dawn HH Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Adorn:-) I'm not a plat fan myself, but if you don't mind them being a bit pricy and want to try them with jeans, you have my blessing. Enjoy! Good Heavens!!! Did I see a posting by Terayon??? It is so good to see that you are still around. Don't be a stranger and post with us a while. Welcome back. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
canadianbeaver17 Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 i love that style. they would look great with jeans. i just wish i can find a good pair in my size
ShockQueen Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 I WANT ONE OF THE SECOND PAIR! OMG! I remember seeing those back in the 80's have wanted a pair like that ever since! Woo-hoo! Someone DOES truly bless those of us with bigger sized pop-tooties! *does happy dance* :drinking: SQ.....still busting societal molds with a smile...and a 50-ton sledge!
Ionic Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 have a close eye on exactly how these are going to turn out. they offer three heel height options, check whether the highest of the these comes at the expense of thicker platforms before committing. they should be fun to wear though. somewhere in a box of my vintage collection, I must have a heeled closed clog in tan like this from the 80s; they're a size small, a uk7, and have definitely never gone out. guess I should sell them. /I
B-booted Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Really like the second pair. Interesting option of heel heights. I remember fancying these when they were around in the eighties - never did get my feet into any! B
BobHH Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 The first ones are very nice. A little pricey, but seem to be nice. They don't go up to my size, though.
luxxyheels Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 There is a "larger sizes" section, and most go up to 14 .
adorn Posted August 22, 2005 Author Posted August 22, 2005 have a close eye on exactly how these are going to turn out. they offer three heel height options, check whether the highest of the these comes at the expense of thicker platforms before committing. Indeed -- in the Clearance section they have a pair made on the same base with the 4 1/2 inch heels, so you can get an idea what those would look like: http://www.shoesusa.com/product_detail.php?category_id=8&prod_id=776 Looks like the platform might be just a tad thinner. I'm guessing the ones in the original pic are the 5 1/2. I wouldn't be surprised if the 6"-ers had an even thicker platform.
c_heels Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Love the clogs in the second link. Remember styles like that from the 80's. Saw some locally, but they only went to a size 10 and I need an 11 or 12.
Dawn HH Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 C_heels:-) Welcome to the Forum. Keep looking around and some day you will find the clogs that you are looking for in your size. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!

Shiela Ann http://www.shoesusa.com/images/large/CANDY202_1l5m37o5.jpg Hi Shiela Ann, I posted already a link to "shoesusa" some weeks ago. Your style is my favourite style too! If they weren't so expensive. Especially the freight rates to Europe The best fashion is your own fashion!
docs41 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I love your first two choices, they are really hot. I've checked the shoes usa website many times and would love to order a pair but I agree they are VERY pricey. No doubt the quality is good but their return policy is pretty steep. Make sure they fit!!! If the shoe fits-buy it!!!!!!
sandalcrazy27 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sandals. Not much of a clog person. Good choices though I hope that my wife asks me if i'm giong to wear those 4 inch leg wrap sandals that i bought from NIKE. Just a wish for the men in the world like us.
Dawn HH Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Sandalcrazy27:-) A very nice shoe. A round-toed, ankle-strapped, Dorsay style pump in a tapestry print. You can't go wrong with that. JeffB:-) Hey! How about this one in a size 13 for the office? You could match this pair with about any outfit going. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
sandalcrazy27 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Thank you DawnHH. Appreciate the compliment. 4" from payless i absolutely adore them. Didn't think anyone would notice. I hope that my wife asks me if i'm giong to wear those 4 inch leg wrap sandals that i bought from NIKE. Just a wish for the men in the world like us.
