Amanda Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Me to Amanda, I can't go higher than 5" without platform. Did you have trouble when you tried to go higher? I just found that they forced my feet forward rather than any higher. I tried for a while wearing them around the house but just didn't find it comfortable.
Louise28 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I just found that they forced my feet forward rather than any higher. I tried for a while wearing them around the house but just didn't find it comfortable. yes i know what you mean Amanda, and the higher the heel is the more likely that the foot can slide down the slope, especially when wearing heels with tights or stockings.
Amanda Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 yes i know what you mean Amanda, and the higher the heel is the more likely that the foot can slide down the slope, especially when wearing heels with tights or stockings. Exactly
killer heels Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Totally Louise, I find wearing hose with strappy sandals particularly slippy and of course there's less support when ur feet do slip!
Louise28 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Totally Louise, I find wearing hose with strappy sandals particularly slippy and of course there's less support when ur feet do slip! and the higher the heel the more likely your feet slip. especially with no platform sole coz the angle of the foot is much steeper and as you suggest, with a strappy sandal there is less shoe to grip!
killer heels Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Hmmm yes...these kind of heels are best worn at home or selectivley ...as u say u almost have to grasp the soles with your toes to get some grip
Louise28 Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 5 inchers proved a bit of a struggle getting to work yesterday. Fortunately after I arrived the events of the day took my mind off the discomfort for the most part.
MartaGanz Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Hi everyone. I am still in progress. Nowadays I can handle 4 inches heels comfortably. My goal is to get it in 5 inches. I think it's the perfect height in my size, but I don't rule out out higher heels ... sometimes Hi, ladies. Finally I wear 5 inches heels and I do so comfy. Boots, sandals & pumps. I thought that it was the perfect height (I'm size 42 EU) but I was wrong. Maybe it will take a year again, but I know I'll walk in 6 inches heels as if nothing had happened. Regards, MG 2
killer heels Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I agree with Louise wearing heels outside in winter can be tricky, I really try to avoid wearing 4 inch plus heels outside at all at this time of year.
Louise28 Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 I agree with Louise wearing heels outside in winter can be tricky, I really try to avoid wearing 4 inch plus heels outside at all at this time of year. First frosty morning of the year today, so i know what you mean!
Amanda Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 I was in town yesterday and it was sleeting and raining. It went on too freeze glazing parts of the pavement. Getting back to the car with no one to hold onto suddeny became a daunting prospect. So, it's time for boots or at least rubber soles here now. Oh the joys of winter!
Louise28 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 my Carvela "Aligns" at 4.7" have been very good this autumn winter. Got a pair of 5 inchers on today tho :-)
diannega Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 I totally agree with highheelchic, 4-4,5" for daily wear and up to 5" for going out..
Louise28 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Yes, I am about the same Dianne, can do 5" at work but 4.5" is more regular.
Amanda Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Yes, I am about the same Dianne, can do 5" at work but 4.5" is more regular. Lol....hmm well that's easy enough when they're mostly laying on the floor under your desk 1
Louise28 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 lol, well thanks for being encouraging Amanda I do a 25/30 min walk in mine every morning en route to work you know! :-) x
MollyFabs Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I can walk without any problem in 5 inch heels, but if it's higher I defiantly need a platform...
Louise28 Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I can walk without any problem in 5 inch heels, but if it's higher I defiantly need a platform...Hi Molly :-) yes I am about the same, do you wear your heels for work hun? Louise
dianiheels Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I wear 4" - 4.5" no platform at work, 5" no platform for partying etc ... I can wear 6" with 1" mini-platform easy

Work usally 4.5" to 5" can do all day in these. Sarah, i voted for 5". But i agree in all that you have stated, our tastes ideaolgy are very similar. Love the feel, height and confidence when I wear. 3
HeelsWearer Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 I have 6 inchers but can only do short stints in them. But I am able to go all day in 5 inchers with no problem, so I voted for 5". 5
Amanda Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 (edited) Alicia :-) hey! i thought you had gone for good. Edited May 3, 2017 by Amanda

KatjaTheToy Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 14 cm/5.5" is sort of the practical maximum for my shoe size but technicaly I can stand and take steps on higher ones. 1
Heike Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 when I was younger, I used to be able to wear 6" stilettos without platforms. At 63, those days are long over. If it's over 4", I need the platforms. I consider myself blessed that I can still wear heels. 2
HelenInHeels Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) Most of my heels are around 5", but i can take 6" for a few hours like going to the opera or theater. 7"? I can walk in these for short distances but it will not look gracefully. I can however sit gracefully in 7" heels, and lying works as well. But to me 7" is clearly fetish-territory. cj1981 Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 i often wear ballet heels around the house for my man, in public though i usually wear 5 inch heels, because i really don't like anything lower 2
cassie Posted June 5, 2023 Posted June 5, 2023 I can walk in ballet heels but they aren't very practical beyond bedroom play. I mostly wear 5 inch heels for work and doing the chores such as grocery shopping. I like to please my man so I change into 6 inch heels at home or when we go out together. I can manage 6 inch heels all day long so it's no trouble. Cassie 1
