cjveritas Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 It's sort of my rule not to go out streetheeling. I lack the overall courage and drive to wear heels in public. But yesterday I got so bored I went streetheeling anyway. Not really all the way since I did it late at nite and concealed most of it. First off I wore these black Nike Dunk Sky High under my regular dark blue jeans (to warm up). I love these. They are in my exact size (not even slightly to small). Drove my car in these (no prob), went to the ATM and strolled down the main street. Concealed heels=incognito bliss Then I wanted something else so I change to black womens slacks and put a pair of black suede wedges. Really love these eventhough a size up would have been better. Real sly in combo with an all black outfit. I drove a while to a more isolated location and tried on a pair of short bootie-like shoes with a comfortable heel. I made a little walk to the beach and had to cross the coastal road trough an underground tunnel. The sound of the heels was excellent. Since I had on the black womens slacks and they concealed the heels so well I decided to get a bit bolder and went for a pair of black suede platform high heels. Wonderful look and feel but rather high to walk in for a longer duration. Not the ideal streetheeling shoes but fun. I was lucky not to pass any stray pedestrians to closely. 4 pairs is to much for streetheeling. I overcomplicated things. If there ever is a next time I'm 'bored' I'll try my pair of Buffalo platforms. Not really 'heels', and not really a serious issue but around here it is though.
Steve63130 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Cjveritas, Those are all good choices for public heeling. Glad you went out without any problems. Be careful going to isolated places alone at night. It could be dangerous. Contrary to logic you'd be much better off in the safety of large crowds, such as in a shopping mall, where everyone is focused on himself or herself and would pay no attention to a guy in heels. Thanks for posting. Hope you are encouraged to go public more often. Steve
hhboots Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Agree with Steve, I know it feels so easy to start out that way at night to build confidence, if you do it, make sure you are in a place you feel safe. Be mindful that you could run into some nut in the middle of night who sees you in heels and feels he has to prove something about his manhood and there is no one else around to help you. On the other hand, you will be amazed how little attention you get going to a mall or large crowded place during the day... almost no one will even notice you. The first time you try it can be very intimidating, but just relax and give it a try one time, it will change your way of thinking. You will blend right in while everyone else is more concerned about what they are doing, and not you.
wedgemao Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 first of all I have to like both the nikes and the 2 pair of wedge booties...I agree that you will be much better in a crowded place and actually where you would like to do your heeling, isn't it???
Guest Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I like the wedge boots. I did the same thing. Found isolated places. Also walked some neighborhoods They are right be careful. The more crowded the place the better. I don't really care for malls Too many people just sitting and watching people If you choose your foot ware carefully you will be surprised what you can get away with. I wear heels everyday. There have been times I wanted people to see just To see want they would do and they never noticed. There have been a few times Where people noticed and have not said anything I do wear long pants that cover the heels so I just go about my day as If I did not have on heels. Its wonderful. Now that you have been out welcome to the club You will just want more from now on
Gudulitooo Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Nice choice here cjveritas.I like all except the plats sneakers, but that's only my opinion. I found some parking lots in the rear of malls that are as desert in daylight as in the night are nice to take pictures.Yet for practicing walking, you need large distances. Home and parking lots do not satify it. And I don't like others see my hesitations. The usual advice "go in crowded places" is nice, but indeed fails to take this into account. I would be glad to find more ideas!
Cl0setheels Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Great post! Glad you enjoyed it. I just got the ones you showed with the laces and 'wood' look heel by Anna Field. Love them! I also bought them for street heeling.
inquisitor Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Definitely want a pair of Nike Sky Hi. Haven't found a pair in a great price point, yet. I'll definitely wear those outside, though. Rockpup Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Definitely want a pair of Nike Sky Hi. Haven't found a pair in a great price point, yet. I'll definitely wear those outside, though. Some colors are half off or so on Nike's site (formerly known as "JimC")
cjveritas Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 yeah the nikes are really ok - uncomplicated fun right the buff-plats don't really fit in the list but for me it's just about highschool nostalgia
wedgemao Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I remember in the 90's during raves era, here in Europe the buffalo platform sneakers were quite popular (in some countries like switzerland, germany they were very popular) both among boys and girls...but i never dared at the time...too bad!!it seems however that they are sort of coming back, I see some people (mostly girls) wearing some sort of converse with platforms...
