The Hue corduroy legging fit fine; the mediums are long enough and go to mid ankle. I have only worn leggings/yoga pants a few times in public. This is one area I would like to wear more of. It is common for runners in my area to wear what looks like leggings in the winter time. Just hoping it will become more common around here.  I sure would love to wear leggings into work with my knee high boots.

Several times in public I have worn a pair of shorts over my leggings for modesty.  I would love to wear a long tunic and leggings to work.

I have worn my Nike dri fit woman's pants many times while kayaking (basically they are leggings) and have even worn them into work afterwards before changing into other pants. When it's colder I have also worn my Victoria's Secret thermal leggings while kayaking. No one has said anything so far.

How about a denim mini skirt. I've done this around the house, and if you comfortable with the presentation, it may work for you.

  2. I'm enjoying leggings around the house. haven't taken it any farther though. With my proportions as they are, I'm thinking I would be caught on a ""people of Walmart"" site.

  3. In the past and present, i'm not a shorts person. Being in the woods, and construction / manufacturing sites, just wasn't a good idea. Within the last couple years, I've discovered denim mini skirts for around the house in the summer.

When I get somewhere aware from the home turf, I am likely to where some flared jeans an a summer sandals out to dinner if i'm not with customers or co-workers.

Painted toes?? - - Not likely to happen. Co-workers would have a field day with that if they caught a glimpse, and I highly doubt the wife would go for it.

Hate to say this but if you had some sleek, hip, clever young snot (no doubt with a man-bun) who was all the rage amongst the beautiful people and the intelligentsia at New York Fashion Week he could put together an outfit based on all of the above and make the the dernier cri, the season's new looksetting all the hearts a-flutter and fashion houses falling all over themselves to peddle camoflage sweat pants at $800 a pop, flip-flops for $175, T-shirts for $250 and work boots at a cool grand  - each.

Oh I'm sure he could - - - and while the beautiful people and the so called intelligentsia would search out the designers boutique, and pay those prices, the rest of the local yahoo's would sit back in some locals barn, pounding Bud Lights an laugh and laugh and laugh some more - - - - - and call the designer a gay snowflake.

PS - two things. After about the 4th beer, they would realize he's making a killing at the cash register. Second - this is the reality of those I reside amongst. In some cases, the cartoons / memes you see are correct.

BTW, has anyone heard from Thighbootguy or know what happened to him?  Also Happyinheels has not posted in years, since he got married.

TBG is fine. Had dinner with him a few weeks ago. Still doing what he does, and still playing music. He sends his regards.

There has been no discussion whatever of men's style or fashion on this thread, and certainly not as it relates to wearing heels. I simply do not understand your non sequitur responses.  I posed a perfectly legitimate question about why there is such an overwhelming  emphasis on men wearing women's clothes on this site - skirts, dresses, gowns, blouses, pantyhose, corsets, handbags, fake nails, nail polish, make-up - and almost no discussion about men's fashion and how it relates to wearing heels, indeed a disdain for it. It comes across very much like heels as a pretext for cross dressing, and creates an impression that this is not really a fashion site at all. I do not understand why you choose to interpret that question as a discussion of man buns and nail polish....

And there lies the conundrum - - The oxymoron known as Men's Fashion.

Yes @Shyheels,you could  start a thread. And see what happens.

Agreed. Maybe we should look more at what we can wear as men from our side of the aisle while still wearing heels

What are they afraid of ?

Not so sure it's something they are afraid of - it's more toward "it isn't right".

I see you and @shyheel are from Europe, and I'm sure you have been watching and reading the news regarding all the goings on here in the states. A vast majority of all this news is only on the East Coast, and the West Coast. A large majority of the rest of the country considers the two coasts as "Liberal Snowflakes". We are not seeing school kids protesting, there are no gender issues, they don't have a gun problem, they are tired of reviving repeat drug addicts,  Climate change is bullshit, and Trump is their savior.

When liberal snowflake mentality drifts into their territory, they tend to get a bit pissy.

I think it is "normal" that some gay people (as Ashley, btw isn't it a female name ?) are getting out of the closet with heels.

After all, when someone or some attitude is called "gay", it is often because it relates with "displaying one's emotions", which is not acceptable for "straight" men, only for women.  So if it a man displaying his emotions, he should be "gay" isn't it ? There is nothing sexual about it.

I know a guy who's name is Ashley - - - He won't answer to it. He goes by Ash.

In my neck of the woods, If you are gay as you described - - No - - Your full blown gay. You could be married to the hottest bombshell blonde in town, and the locals will still avoid you like the plague.

     = = = = and that's why I don't wear heels locally.

Block heeled boots don't seem particularly delicate - they're high heels. Stilettos are, but surely they can be worn with jeans - plenty of people do. There is a post in another thread about a banker in Sydney who wears stilettos with his business suit and looks quite presentable. For a site that ostensibly isn't about cross-dressing there is a huge - indeed overwhelming - emphasis on men wearing women's clothing.

I wear men's industrial uniform jeans all day. Definitely not flattering by any means. Just functional. They don't look right with any heel I own. Men's dress pants - - especially if the have pleats of any kind look like hell on me, and the wife wouldn't let me out of the house in them. They look that bad on me. Last time I wore a suit or Tux was 1986.

Women's jeans on the other hand fit me better, look better, and work well with any footwear I go out with. Nobody has ever noticed these that I am aware of. I can pull off skinny jeans as long as they are not ""too skinny"" in the calf. Wife loves these so it's all good.

In the last couple years. I have discovered leggings and jeggings, which are super comfortable. I find legging leave me with a profile just below the waist that would not be  - - lets just say not suitable in public. A denim mini skirts cleans this up well, but I could never wear this in the local village without catching the wrath of God and a ton of negative reaction - - Trust me on this one. I could pull it off at a Chicago heel meet with a variety of heels I have.

I have never ventured out and about beyond women's jeans with heels. Usually in T-shirts and pullover polo's. Wife wouldn't appreciate me wearing much else from the other side of the aisle, and unless I show up at a meet such as Chicago as an example, I'm not likely to do so solo.

For me it's not cross-dressing - - it's fit and function with a splash of heel.

I have read a review of the exhibition, and it looks interesting, although I can't see how wearing heels to it - specifically making a point of wearing heels to it - would do anything other than perpetuate the idea the heel-wearing men were somehow different, belonging to a twilight world, and emerging for this exhibition; isn't the idea to make it seem normal?

    You are totally correct - - -

For some, this would be a great chance to finally step out into the world, and nobody would think it out of place.

Most of us here realize that the concept of men wearing high heels being normal may not come about in our lifetime. Doesn't mean we can't push the envelope, have some fun, and in my case, freak out a few folks on the way.

  11. This is a good question, and I have to think a bit more about it.

I realize I live in an area where we don't really need to dress in anything more than jeans and t-shirts. Yes, that's a majority of my wardrobe, but I see no reason to wear anything better for fast food. What's scary is that I'm usually better dress than most of the folks around us. (Thank You Walmart)

Jeff and CAT - - - keep doing what you do.

Damned - - - A night out - - almost all of the places around here (what few there are) have former military insignia associated with it, and almost all have Harley parking in front.
