This may be inappropriate to TBG original post on this thread , been tossing it around as to share it or not . So here goes . Back in March at the Mid America Trucking Show my wife and I were checking out the new advances in the trucking industry . There seemed to be one lady that just kept showing up at or near every display we were in . This woman that was showing up around my wife and I was wearing black wedges like some I posted in another thread about wedges . My wife kept saying she must have been shopping in our closet and we would chuckle and go on . Finally we bumped into each other and my wife told her she had great taste in shoes and her outfit went well with her shoes . She proceeded to tell my wife all about them and my wife informed her I had a pair just like them . The expression on her face was priceless . She smiled and asked me how I liked mine . I told her what my take was on them and she agreed . She said walking on the display carpets were a little odd but overall walking on the concrete areas were not bad . I told her I had worn mine out a few times and hers looked really good on her . She was asking all kinds of questions about wearing wedges .(I even shared some shoe care tips with her) When it came time for up to move on she simply said how cool it was to go to a truck show and have a guy talk to her about wedge pumps . I would have to say that would by far be the best truck show I ever went to .

My sentiments precisely. Unfortunately, ugly platform shoes aside, there are signs that the present decade is beginning to compete - so many obese people of both sexes with disfiguring tattoos and piercings and a generally sloppy attitude to what they wear. (I've just returned from a very pleasant holiday in Spain - only marred by much of the 'human scenery' around me.)
Not sure how to take this ? Do you just hate obese people in Spain or all obese people ? So far as the 70s welcome back ! That is about the time I got into high heels and yes they were funky chunky heels I hope this trend continues cause I for one am not looking for the day we all have to wear those gaudy Cruella Deville pointy toed single soled pumps that have been around since original sin .

I only shave legs and other areas when going out crossdressed . When I am just running around town in my heels and jeans , my toes and over the ankle - knee area that could show when I cross my legs or going up and down staircases .

Jeff , Congratulations on your recent fame ! It's my honor to say I knew you when . Gentlemen ,pie and graph charts ? This is to funny ! Great Day fella's .

Not being much on boots ..... I do like some round toed boots . The ones I have look great tucked in or left out and even better with a long denim skirt . Winter is the only time I wear them and it has to be cold ! The Nine West pair look Great ! For a more detailed picture you will have to click on image ..

I have way more pair than I will ever wear out . When my wife says it's time to stop hoarding heels ( one stack of heels away from an episode of hoarders ) that's time to farm my heels out as Thighbootguy can tell you . Then it starts over again . This way I can purchase better fitting heels as my shoe size may change by weight loss or gain . As a general rule I have been cut to less than 150 pair at any given time . There are my go-to heels for anytime and I do buy several pair sometimes of the same style just because they are available . The funny thing is there is only one pair of boots in my whole collection the rest are mostly platform wedges and a few stilettos . I have been told by many women my mother included , when you buy heels they are only good for about a year then they go out of style . So, never put to much money into a pair cause you may only wear them a few times . Pretty sure it's safe to say I have a thing for heels .

Sorry they aren't hiring. Your company doesn't allow wedges at work?
It's not so much the company allowing you to wear wedges to work, its more "do you have the intestinal fortitude required to wear 5 inch heels in to work for a full workday?"
My company only allows OSHA approved steel toed boots .

Cali is your company hiring ? Great looking wedges !

Yes , with open toe heels / No , with closed toe heels.

Bubba136 , the issue with the stone is exactly the reason why I try to stay on side walks where stones are more visible . Plats are not so forgiving in that aspect . This is one reason platform wedges seem to work well for me not to mention they are good for transitioning to grass / lawn areas . For some reason when the stiletto phase was in my lifestyle it seemed like every pair was getting a new heel caps or being trashed for heel scrapes . The platform also allowed me to have the higher heel without having the calf pain from transitioning from plats to flats .

Payless update ....by mail ? Just received a letter from Payless corporate offices Topeka , KS . The letter contained two 40% off coupons for their St Mathews Mall and Bashford Manor locations , next closest locations to my home . Looks like they will be closing Town Fair Center store that is closest , by the end of the month . Shame they wasted more money on postage .

The boxes in my closet confirms both pair I posted are indeed the Lunar styles .

Cali , you are spot on in my opinion . You are correct some in here that are very much against platform styles . That is their opinion/preference . When the end of the day arrives we all love high heels . For me I need the extra stability platforms offer . Speaking for myself thin soled pumps look more "graceful" on someone with a skinny build . Being on the "fluffy" side I feel better in heels like the ones in my avatar .

Being on the fluffy wide footed side , Payless used to be my fave . Then they stopped selling the wider widths in size 12 women's . Since then I have found Lane Bryant & Torrid to be my go to stores . I am more into the wedges and platform styles they sell .
-
First off TBG they look great . Love the colors . Second , about time you got some wedges !!!!!
-
5-6" all the time ..... with a platform , without around 4 1/2" max . I grew up in plats and wedges .

I hate to see anyone loose jobs . Payless has lost business just because all larger sizes have to be ordered . Shopping should be fun and one should try the shoes on in the store . Honestly , what's the fun in getting a package and trying heels on in the living room or kitchen ? Looking forward to seeing new styles was a great pleasure and now it's like here it is online . Do they ever change the styles ? Zappo's is getting to be the same way . Why bother to wear high heels if you can't go shopping for them ? Just my opinion . I wish all the best to the Payless employees .
