I believe that they have large sizes on line, but he was speaking to in store experiences.  I doubt you'd find anything much in a size 13 in stores, and if they had some, likely would not be much heel wise.  At least that has been my experience with Torrid and Lane Bryant.  I've never seen a Woman Within store.  Do they exist?

I must be misunderstanding everything , Then  again , I live in the Louisville , KY area and have found size 13 in both Lane Bryant and Torrid even a few times in the Shoe Show . Woman Within is an online store .

  2. Jeff that Easy Spirit commercial made me want to run out buy a pair of pumps  ........ naa wait, it happened long before then ! However , that is still a good commercial . I could see a basket ball pump getting whole new meaning and in a good way .

  3. I never been to Starbase Q . You can bet after Covid is done , I will try to find it ........ if it's still open . I always liked going to Connection , it was a very laid back atmosphere . It seemed as if I never met a stranger when visiting . Outdide of the drinks being kind of costly ( like most other clubs ) you almost sure to have a great time . The police never bothered anyone leaving .

  4. You must have gone to Connection! That was the place for drag shows in Louisville! When I lived there, I used to frequent that place often!

KneeBooted , that would be correct . Unfortunately they have closed due to hospital expansions on South Floyd Street . The good news , there is another place with drag shows called Play , I have yet to check them out .

  5. Year's ago my wife and I went to a drag show in Louisville , KY . I had a few drinks . I was wearing these faux sued peep toe pumps with about a 1/2" platform . My wife asked me to get her a drink so being a noble husband , I felt it my duty . We were sitting close to the stage on the lower row . Given the fact I had her drink and mine there was no way to hold onto the handrail . So .I proceeded down to my smiling wife and on the next to last step ........ my heel got caught in the carpet and I did a face plant right in the middle of the show . Yes , I did spill both drinks ! What was worse was the Drag Queen on stage stopped and said " QUEEN DOWN , CAN WE GET SOME MORE DRINK'S and Honey , you better check those heels " . I did check my heels and sure enough the faux sued had torn around the heel on one and the platform on the other . What was bad , these were one of the only pair I ever owned with a small platform and stiletto .

After the show , my wife and I were able to meet the Queen that was performing during my comedy act . She was really nice . Some of the other people who had seen the whole incident ordered us some drinks . Looking back , it was more funny than anything .

  6. I ordered a pair of shoes from Torrid when the Covid-19 first started . Torrid's shipping dept was running on a minimal staff . My shoes arrived about 3 week's longer than what it usually takes for their deliveries . I called once just to check on the order because according to the bank my payment hadn't been processed at that time . But eventually they did show up . When the shoes shipped they drafted my payment .

Flea Bay , Try to avoid them if you can . They are like gambling only spend what you can afford to loose .  One other thing , always check the seller's reputation . Most likely if they took you to the cleaner they have done it to other's . Good Luck and Be Safe .

  7. RonC , I couldn't have stated it any better . By the way great looking wedges !

I had a chance to wear the b.o.c. Apple wedges pictured above for some shopping today.  While I have had a couple pairs of wedges in the past, that was prior to me taking my heel wearing public, so I never really had much real experience walking in them.  I now understand when the ladies (and guys here) talk about the greater comfort of wedges despite their height.  These were very comfortable and stable to walk in despite the 4" heel height (mitigated I admit by a small platform under the forefoot).  Typically, after an hour and a half of shopping and walking about, my feet would be aching and feeling a bit numb,  I had next to no discomfort and could have kept going for some time yet.  I could feel the height and enjoyed that, but didn't miss the discomfort.  Might not be the last wedges I ever own!

In general mainstream usage, the term "bubbler" refers to a drinking fountain, not a bong. I've only ever heard older folks from the southeast U.S. use the term, and probably most of those people are dead. It possibly is used in the Northeast, but my extended family is from the Southeast, so I only have experience from that region.

Please read this link https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-bubblers-what-are-they-and-why-use-them-n863 .

We have entire words that are used only regionally in the US.  I still have not heard anyone refer to a “bubbler” in real life but I don’t live in the Northeast.

It's a reference to a Bong type glass for smoking pot . I have never heard that word used in the southern region of the United States either . Weed was never my thing however , I grew up with a few stoner's from way back , they always used the term bong .

Also , here in the United States , "ie"at the end of the word in a name can be changed out with a "y" , Like the name Eddie for instance , one can also spell it Eddy .

  10. One of the things I find rather funny are model instructions . Some of you may have figured out i do a lot of model building . The translations have taught me well . Airfix is a great company for this . Here are just a few of the translations and  pronunciations in the English language I find rather interesting . Some are misspelled intentionally . Chassis UK = Chassie US , Lorrie UK = Truck US , Fuel Bowser UK = Tanker US , Bomb trolly UK = Bomb cart / trailer US . The list goes on and on . This is just a few in English . Throw in Russian , Japanese , Chinese , German , French and Danish . Thank goodness the parts are numbered .  Not to mention color reference , here in the US we have a Federal Standard or FS number the Germans not so much in WWII . . Anyway that's my two cents for the day , please excuse any mistakes in proper grammar . :fine:

  11. The last stores I know of are Shoe Show , Torrid , 6pm and some Lane Bryant . The Shoe Shows in the larger towns / cities seem to have more selection . The 6pm in south Louisville is sketchy at best , hit or miss on that store . If you look on line at the Lane Bryant and Torrid stores they will tell you " online exclusive " then it won't be in any of the stores . In regard to the size 12 if you are not a wide you can sometimes find them in a Nine West outlet . I hope this helps , Be Safe and Good Luck Hunting .

  12. Hello , hope everyone is in great spirits and health . Being stuck at home and not many places to go . I decided to do some window shopping online and found these . They come in black and blush . Unfortunately they were sold out of black , the color that goes with everything . After stewing over them a few days and the fact they went on sale , I ordered them in the blush . WOW , what a great shoe it only took Torrid three weeks to get them to me , given everything that is going on , three weeks was a lot faster than expected .  They are a little wider at the sole than other espadrilles in my collection , making daily wear a dream . The toe box has plenty of room . I ordered a size smaller than I normally wear . Generally a size 12 wide is a perfect fit as of late Torrid and Comfortview shoes work better in size 11 wide . Please excuse the link , not to tech savvy .Be safe everyone .

  13. FLIP FLOPS over all else for me ! The sight of them with the foam sole and plastic thong just makes me cringe . I have changed my seating in restaurants because some clown would wear them in the place . Then there is the fact of disgusting  toes hanging out and dirty feet just a few yards from where I am sitting . Oh , and let's not forget the displaced foam / rubber soles of these things ...... really they need a load bearing weight stamped on the sole . I think the rest goes without saying . Pure laziness or you can't  reach your feet are the only reasons these hideous things are made for .

  14. It's not just FSJ shoes that can blow out on you . I have had 9 West shoes do that as well . Both the same style only a difference  in color . However , 9W did get right with the bad pair .

  15. I remember gasoline rationing in the 70's but toilet paper in 2020 !!! This is crazy . On the plus side , there are some great deals on heels to be had if you look online . Some of the larger retailers with brick and mortar stores are trying to get more online sales . My email has been full of sales . Stay Safe Everyone !

  16. Given the size of my thighs and calf muscles , one would have to pour me into a pair of those , and for wading , my old work boots will do just fine . That's just me , if you like them , get them . Just not my cup of tea .
