Tonight I chose a pair of wedges that I inherited from my wife a few months ago (read more here: https://hhplace.org/topic/24422-jeremys-heel-stories-pictures-thoughts/?page=4&tab=comments#comment-375368 )
They are a pair she bought at Payless bunch of years ago, but never got into them said they were on the tight side and not so comfy. They are a 10W (US) and fit me perfectly. They are a very simple pair, and have probably seen better days... but I still enjoy them. A moderate 3.5" wedge heels makes them nice and comfy, as well as the peep toe!
I have always liked that style of wedge with jeans . Well done ! I wear a wedge very close to that with a stacked heel and knee highs . Love the look .

I think my latest acquisition should be here due to the style of shoe . These came up in a search of the Lane Bryant site looking for some slides to wear around the house . My work hours don't leave much time anymore for wearing my wedges out and about . My wife picked them up for me at the Louisville , Ky location . The only problem I have with them is the huge bow . Caution they do run large . I take a size 12 in Nine West and can get by with these in a size 11 . That is a size 11 wide women's in normal sizes . They were on sale buy one and get a second for $5.00 or another item . Guess who got the second item and it was not me . LOL !

Gidday maninpumps,
go for it! I'm all for an intellectual challenge Although I have already admitted I am addicted - so I have stolen part of your thunder in that regard. However a good thoughtful and philosophical debate never hurt anyone (in my limited opinion) so go for it - don't stop - the challenges you portray are part of healthy and honest debate.!!!
Thank's , I believe you see where I am coming from with my opinion . My intention was not to argue but rather make some think about the word addiction . That word is not always associated with drugs or alcohol , it can be with things /actions that one gets from joy or happiness . High heels give me happiness , It's that simple . I am happy you have shared in my thunder because you understand .

hahahaha ! If it is so easy to get rid of your heels then do so . I would be willing to bet you could not last a year . Who is willing to take the challenge (not me) ? My bet would be the first time you saw a pair of heels you like in your size you would purchase them . Let me guess the excuses 1 ) I like them for fashion reasons . 2 ) I don't have to prove anything . 3) I feel more confident in them . and the list goes on and on . Sure enough we can word this as passion , addiction or even a fetish , at the end of the day we all love to wear heels . Then again does this really matter why I call wearing heels an addiction ? The word addiction seems to have been taken out of context , why ? I notice some have been beating my opinion down over this and again I ask why ? If you all would prefer me not answer or post then by all means send me a message and I will be happy to keep my opinion to myself . fair enough ?

My youth group had a costume party at the minister's house . The year was around 1985-86 and wearing heels in a conservative community was a bad thing unless you went to a costume party or such . I remember the minister's wife a very nice woman getting after me for wearing them on her linoleum kitchen floor . She said " if you are going to dress as a woman , you need to know never wear heels on linoleum they make holes or dents ". Fortunately , I kicked my pumps off before I did any damage . Unfortunately , I lost the best costume contest even after all the compliments from the girls about how I looked so good and could walk in my heels so gracefully . I think Freddie Krueger won the contest . My wife has got after me about the same thing when we first got married , we lost part of our renters deposit due to floor damage ( my stilettos ) .

To answer the original question , platform wedges . I do have some of the other styles and they are just not as fun to wear anymore . They are being given away , donated and trashed more and more with each new purchase of wedges .

HMMMM Interesting question , I will have to physically count them someday . Before the purge of 2016 when over 45 pair were donated or given to another member in here (thightbootguy) I had over 150 pair . Since then I have added a few and given more to charity . My wife has encouraged me to start reducing my heels . With 1 purchase , 1-2 are removed .I don't wear them as much as I used to and my higher stiletto heels are just not to appealing to wear anymore . I am just as happy in my wedges or Keds . By estimation , there would be about 70 pair . Eventually my goal is to be closer to 20 or less .

No , that was not my intention
..... I have been told many times by my wife I have an addiction to heels and my planes and sometimes even a fetish for bombers . By my dictionary , what I found on google , she is correct .

Sorry if I have offended ! I would like to direct your attention to the bottom two . That is what I am referring too .
Definition of addicted
: having an addiction: such asa : having a compulsive physiological need for a habit forming substance (such as a drug)- addicted to heroin
b : strongly inclined or compelled to do, use, or indulge in something repeatedly- addictedto chocolate
- addicted to (watching) soap operas

Nice ! I look forward to hearing from you .

I feel we are heel addicts . We are also at different levels of addiction . Same as a cyclist covets different frames as mentioned above or the Ferrari . If you were to ask my brother the difference or even one of my sisters about my shoes all they would notice would be the color . We see more than just the shoe we see the whole picture of the shoe like the heel style the material or the sole of said shoe . To me that would make us addicts . We also try to wear them every chance we can and we take the best care of them we possibly can . You take a cigar smoker look how they covet the taste and try to keep the cigar at the perfect temp.until time of smoking . I have a collection of models kits started in the 1970's to modern day releases of WWII aircraft from Axis to Allied . I keep all my kits at a controlled temp . . Financially speaking , no I will never let any of my addictions get in the way of my families needs , bottom line we all have addictions in some form or another .

Being a self proclaimed wedge lover and admirer . I thaught I might tell you guys in here about an experience I had . My sons graduation from high school was this past weekend . We arrived early as to get bleacher seats close to the floor . My in-laws are in bad health and unable to climb the steps up the bleachers . While in line outside the school waiting I could not believe all the women wearing platform wedges in all kinds of colors and styles . There were not as many block heels as one would think with them being in style this year . I told one lady to the front of us in line she had a nice outfit and her shoes really looked great she smiled and said " I always wear wedges , they are so cute and comfortable " . My wife told her she loved them as well . She and my wife decided the block heels were just a fluke of time and I agreed . I really wanted to get some pictures of her shoes , but some ladies think that is creepy so I figured best to just try to find some on line to share . The picture shown is almost a perfect match only her's were a little darker in shade like a chocolate brown .

A few years back , I ran into one of the girls from my old high school working in a shoe store in Louisville , KY . I was wearing a pair of my wedge pumps and black jeans . She said when did you start wearing heels . Wanting to down play the situation I just said "you didn't know ?" She responded with how long ? I said since our school days . She said "seems like I knew that " Funny how people seem to remember things with just implying something . It was a great visit and I purchased many more pair there until she could find a better job .

Wow !! with all the great style shoes being shown in here over the past few weeks ....... one might consider opening a shoe store . LOL !

Spring has sprung and that means ..... more wedges . jeremy1986 you should really like these . My wife found them on the Payless web site . With all the great reviews , I figured , why not and with a 25% off discount they would be fine even if I hated the fit . They are a great fit and a little wider than Payless usually has for wide width shoes . The shoe name is "Escape" . The ankle tie is long enough to tie in the front or back of the ankle . They are real easy to walk in and fun to wear .

I usually wear wedges , they seem to work on about any surface .

I think I have about 5 pairs of men's and women's to many .

Honestly , during a week about 5-6 pair depending on my mood and work schedule . By the month 20-24 . Unfortunately , there are some heels in my closet that have not seen the light of day in 2-5 years . Per the last question you asked I wear mine based on mood more than anything . Like you , I also adjust my outfit to match the shoes . I never take weather into account ...... can't risk ruining a great pair of heels .

HappyinHeels , I really like the T strap and wedge styling together . I can't wait for your review .
My new Ryan Espadrilles by Comfortview just came in and they exceeded my expectations . They have the back zipper , wasn't sure about that with an ankle tie . With the zipper it has made them easy on and off . The picture in the Woman Within add just does not due them justice . I had looked at them several times on the web site and it seemed every few days they would offer me a better deal . When they went to 50% off after you spend $100.00 USD my wife was ready to jump at that offer . She was more than ready to get some cloths and my espadrilles .
Can feet shrink?
in For the guys

I can say without a doubt feet can shrink . When I was over 400 lbs I wore a 13 wide women's . When my goal of 280 lbs was achieved a size 12 wide women's and today I can wear a size 12 regular women's . The Torrid size 11 wide fits great .
