  1. Believe me, I try really hard to push myself to get through a series of shoes to probe each time I'm in a store. I can hardly keep myself from blushing most of the times. I know this is nuts and might contradict with what I've written somewhere else around here but it's true. Sometimes I'm more confident (that resulted in the stories I put here) sometimes less. Haven't found out yet the root cause. On the other hand I've already been bold enough to go to a gym where the place where shoes are left is right in front of the dojo's entry (I was taking Aikido-lessons back then). The boots (1.5"P/5.5"H) were kinda noisy so they could be heard and seen clearly. The only thing that worked for me that day was that when I was changing shoes before and after the lesson nobody was with me in the change area. And if my memories serve me right I didn't actually care about the whole thing that particular day. As I said before I have no idea why I went for it and didn't give a damn what others may say... 2. Hi Gary!

What size do you wear? I think I have a pair or 2 or Jazzberry Boots. They are probably US womans 11 or maybe 12. I will check.

    Yeah, right, I'm a US ladies 12.

Jazzberry is a common brand here in the US.

    Interesting.

I have seen them in "The Shoe Dept" and I think at "Famous Footwear".

Do they have online shops or something else/alike to get in contact with them? I'll Google anyway...

  3. Hi!

It's too bad that Payless & Co. won't ship stuff to foreign countries. I did some research but couldn't find any Payless-Store in Germany. On the contrary, we have 'Deichmann' which is a great resource but shoe sizes usually stop at EU41 or EU42 (if you're lucky). Some of the EU41s sometimes fit my EU43 - but very rarely. So, following this thread, Payless and Burlington seem to be great for our needs as they sell stuff in US ladies 12 (or even bigger). And this is where my problem comes in: I'd actually like to try on shoes in the store but it would be embarrassing if you've already picked the largest size possible for that particular model but it's still not gonna work for your feet while somebody standing next to you notices it. I'd feel a lot better if the attempt to get the shoes on my feet would have been successful and then I'd be able to demonstrate that I can handle those heels. So in case I already fail in putting the shoes on I can actually 'feel' the comments: 'See, pal, those aren't meant for you... Got that?!'. OMG... On the other hand, whenever one particular style worked for me regarding size then no one cared about that and the clerks were very supportive in getting me some more similar styles to try on. Anyway, I believe the thing with the bad comments is only in my mind giving myself a tough time in turn. Thought I would have been more advanced in handling this topic but every now and then I don't feel that confident I'd actually like to be.

BTW, does anyone know who sells shoes/boots of the brand 'jazzberry'? Got a pair of Buffalo-like platform chunky knee leather boots (1" platform, 4.5" heels - see below) from them but through an online-auction. So I don't know where to get another pair in case my present ones wear out. They are quite comfy and I do wear them on a daily base (to work, while shopping...). Any ideas?

  4. Terry, they have velcro underneath put it doesn't pull off itself. You can actually tighten the strap pretty strong. When I received the shoes and I was about to close the padlock I checked its function several times since I wouldn't end up locked in the boots forever. ;o) Upon closer examination of the locking-thing I found the velcro underneath the ankle strap and felt a lot better - just in case one of my folks comes home unexpected I don't have time to fiddle with the lock... 5. In the past I hid them by putting them amongst other electrical stuff in the shelf. Since my folks didn't know much about electricity and didn't want/dare/try to figure it, this method provided a rather safe place for the shoes. By now I'm at 190 pairs or so. This makes me to keep them in 'categorized' cardboxes otherwise they would take too much space when put in a drawer, a shelf or so. The cardboxes can easiliy be opened by everyone who stops by my room. Until now it just didn't happen that those boxes were ever examined... CU! -Mike

  6. Nowadays, I wear my 4.75" chunky-heeled knee boots in public and to work. Only one Indian co-worker found out about that since my walking style drew her attention. She told me that probably only women would ever notice (because they know what walking with high heeled shoes on would be like, she said). So the shoes were obviously not the primary thing that came into focus although the heels were/are quite visible (even more when walking). Besides that I didn't get any reactions yet when wearing these boots... CU! -Mike

  7. ... The shaft of the boots in your avatar seem to be too tight (I’m sure they feel great) to wear over jeans. ...

The material is sort of soft-stretch-leather. The boots are knee-high and they feel great!!! But even if they had a shaft to be worn over the jeans, then I wouldn't probably do that (yet) either...

  8. Let me digress again for a moment

... The small one is a 3.8 lt V6 and the larger one is the GM Gen111 engine 5.7 lt.

I especially liked 'The small one is a 3.8 lt...': That's actually quite huge for German conditions already. If you would ask a German cardealer if (s)he has your desired model with, let's say, a bigger engine than a 2.5-lt-one, you would get an answer like 'Trying to take part in the Formula 1 or something?' ;o) -- Okay there's some Mercedes, Audi and BMW on the roads with up to 6 lt engines but those are extremely rare and damn expensive (to get and to operate). A common engine in Germany is around 1.8 lt. :o(

(its not Gen3) I think also the bodies here are stretched slightly to make a bigger car, but that could be incorrect. ...

    Hm, didn't measure them... ;o)

  9. The thing is there's so many guys around here telling that they go street-heeling, but where are they? I've been to the places where they said that they were there and would be there again some time but I haven't seen anybody except yesterday for the first time... Do I have to change specs? CU! -Mike

  10. Hopefully he's reading along and understands English... Today I drove Dresden (my hometown) and while cruising "Tharandter Straße", around 3.15pm, I noticed a guy wearing like 3" .. 4" heels quite visible. He walked down the road, heading Freital. Sorry folks, that all doesn't mean much to most of you but if the one I've seen reads this, he'll probably know. Male attire, male (short) haircut, 'male moving' (just regular, not gay), dark clothing - it appeared like that against a snowy-white background - but pretty obvious he wore high heels (from the 'casual'-, meaning not the fetish-stuff-shelf), just a coordinated appearance. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop for a second because some other cars were right behind me so I would have caused a crash stepping on the breaks like in an emergency-stop. I went on, turned around next intersection, but when I was back at the point where I'd seen him a minute ago, he was gone. Too bad. I'd like to have talked to him for a minute... CU! -Mike

  11. I do wear high heels myself in public but use long flared (boot cut) jeans to cover them somehow. For the more chunky-heeled shoes I do, however, wear them quite visible but they don't require a lot of guts anyway. I wish I would be brave and bold enough to wear the boots from my avatar the way you do. Anyway, Thighbootguy, way to go! Amazing accomplishment... CU! -Mike

  12. Hi!

... to go somewhere wearing boots. ...

To clarify: You really wear them over your trousers and hence they are clearly visible? And you didn't receive any (bad) comments directly aimed at your boots yet? Wow, that's impressive, almost unbelievable...

    CU!

    -Mike

  13. Yeah, if she doesn't want you can't force her, unfortunately. And that's all to it. Maybe you start to wear heels when around the house or in public? Let's see what happens then... ;o)

    @TXT-1

... Holdens (australian eqivalent to Chevrolet ...) ...

I thought Holden was GM? At least when I'd been to New Zealand last year those 'Holdens' looked awfully like what we call 'Opel', 'Vauxhall' or even 'GM' in Europe. What do you think?
