  1. @whynotheels: I agree. -- But I must admit, I did use 'excuses' like such in the past. Nowadays, I do wear 3.75" and 4.5" heels on a regular basis (together with long flared jeans - yes, they do cover the heels a bit but I think this looks cool and adds to the illusion of heel height) and if I want something new I just walk into a store, check the ladies' section and try stuff out (at any time and season). And if I get asked I reply that I'm alright and if they ask further I turn it around and ask them if a particular style would be available in my size and that I'm looking for high heels for me. Sometimes they got something appropriate, sometimes they don't. And that's all to it. CU! -Mike

  2. ... but my size 12 are just way too big for her. ...

Maybe I haven't read all of your previously written posts thoroughly enough but am I right that your folks are aware of your high-heel-wearing? What do they say? Obviously, even your daughter is fine with it, right? Curious...

  3. Folks, I got the boots just yesterday evening. Right now I'm wearing them and they feel great. I don't even need toe padding (although there's still some space left for this in the toe box) since the feet are held in a position so that the toes barely reach the ground. I blame it to the leather :D and the fact that the front lacing allows for perfect fit. I paid € 166,- for the boots and € 6,90 for shipping which makes it for a total due of € 172,90. I think this translates roughly to £ 110.- or $ 180.- if I'm not way off track regarding actual currency conversion. So, I must say I haven't seen them that cheap anywhere else... @chris100575: Nice link! And they got a lot of very interesting prices on some cool items though... CU! -Mike

  4. Yes, I tried this myself a couple of times. But this drew too much attention so I couldn't sleep. :D Guess I got to refrain from wearing them to bed. BTW, nice looking shoes that's shown in your avatar! Where did you get them from? CU! -Mikey

  5. First and foremost, like sscotty727, I like how it feels. Next I like the look (of course), they alter my walk (it just feels better walking that way) and I had pains in the lower back when standing still for some time and problems with my knees which disappeared once I started using high heeled shoes on a regular basis. CU! -Mike

  6. Yeah, right. Almost unbelievable! Look awesome. Way to go! And noone ever commented derogatory? -- One question though to your online-photo-album: What does the word 'bone' in 'bone heels' (the white ones) mean? I do know what 'bone' is basically used for and what rude meaning it has. But what with the heels? Not the slightest idea... :D CU! -Mike

  7. In another thread FF said:

"... given some care to coordinated appearance. ..."

So, what do you guys consider "coordinated appearance" aside from the appearance by ones who are bold enough to go for the flashy, eyecatching look to present/perform their high heeled shoes in public? -- Hopefully I got across what I tried to ask... :D

  8. When I got my thigh high Devious ballets from the seller (was on eBay actually) I asked about the size and was told to go one size up. After all they fit very well leaving some space for necessary toe padding. On the other hand my experiences with shoes made from real leather instead of patent stretch material are that they didn't feel just more narrow but also one size short. So I was rather tempted to go for a 13 instead of 12 (which is the US-ladies size I have) initially. I also have a friend around here who owns ballet ankle boots of another brand and he went a different way. The shoes were ordered true to his size and he crafted aluminum insoles which give more stability to the shoes and reduce the 'available' foot-space so that the feet are held by the leather and the toes are prevented from touching down. Quite nifty. When put on it kinda felt like walking on clouds. So, after all these experiences I'm still not sure what size to go for actuallly but I do like these knee high ballet boots shown in the pic... CU! -Mike

  9. Jim, I will! I just found that these boots sell for $219. Wow! Somehow expensive. Do you know if Devious has an own website (and sells to the 'end user' directly?)? I just want to check the prices and find out the best offer. Here in Germany someone sells these boots for 166 Euro... CU! -Mike

  10. Folks,

does anyone have experiences with those knee-length leather ballet boots?

    Posted Image

They have a full length inside zipper and front-lacing. I'm about to go for them. I own thigh highs from this manufacturer. They are very stable. Now I wonder if the knee-lengths give the same stability. And should I go for one size up as I was adviced for the thigh-highs? Does anybody know?

  11. JeffB: Agreed! Does anyone know if someone sells them in US ladies 12 or 13 (EU43/44)? Bubba136: I got the ones shown in the middle row. But in my case they're dark-brown and have side zippers instead of the front laces. Those are my daily worn boots. Even when the heels are entirely on show nobody did ever give a damn about it! chris100575: Cool story. I must say I wore stiletto heels uncovered only once - in the regular shoe shop where I bought a pair of knee-length boots. I also went for a walk in my 17cm platform courts/pumps from the car to another heels shop. but back then it was dark night and I wore long flared jeans. Some girls were waiting at a nearby bus stop, looked my way when they noticed the serious clock-clock-clock that my shoes made but didn't care much actually. So, Chris, good job! Way to go!!! 12. Folks,

this one might not be too exciting but I thought it's worth sharing. Just a short story...

In the morning I came to the company carrying two backpacks (Huh? Backpacks? I wonder what he's getting at; this is a shoes' forum! - would you probably think. Yeah, but this is required to illustrate the situation). The one I always have with me is a small one that holds things for 'daily needs'. The other (the bigger) one is the one I have with me when I plan to do some sports in the in-house gym.

So what backpacks do have in common with shoes? It's quite easy! I'll tell you in a second. - The ladies at the front desk, however, are entitled to search employees' suitcases, bags, backpacks and so on in order to check for cameras, unregistered laptops and stuff like that. Our security is very strict about that.

Today my favorite lady was on duty. She must have seen me managing stuff from the trunc of my car into one of my backpacks because this time I parked in a position where I could be clearly watched (from the front desk) what I did when leaving the car. I must mention BTW that she always looks down on me when I come in to obviously check for the shoes that I wear (it's easy to extrapolate her looks). So I think she was kinda curious and wanted to know what's in the 'box'. And, right, this morning I had another pair of high heeled shoes with me in the bigger backpack. I would have worn the 'packed ones' right away (and in fact I did last week to work and when I went shopping) but today it was likely that I go for some sports and of course had to change prior to start exercising. Then the heels would have been clearly visible and could be identified immediately as women's shoes. I don't like to present the guys lurking around in the boy's change room on Monday with these shoes (too much muscles but too little brain - no comment, you know!). So I planned to change shoes shortly before leaving for the gym. The alternate pair of boots are also higher heeled but look way more chunky with the heels and at all they could easily go for men's shoes (in fact I've got no idea if they are from the men's or the women's shelf since they came to my hands from the US from a non-professional-dealer and I have no idea where he got them from). Look:

They aren't one of the more exciting styles that I prefer but it's high heels and look quite decent. The brown color isn't as much glowing as it appears on the picture. I'd blame it on the flash. The boots I had in the backpack looked like that:

    Posted Image

I like their shape a lot more although these boots might not be everybody's most wanted style. They are only half an inch taller than the heels I usually wear (first picture) but their heels look much more slender than the ones on my 'regular' shoes. So I wanted the less catching heels for the gym's change room. Anyway, since I wanted to wear the higher ones as well today I had to bring them along in the backpack. And somehow the lady at the reception knew that it was special today because I came in the other day with the backpack even more filled with stuff looking way more suspicious and wasn't payed any attention at all. But this time it appeared as if she wanted to 'confimr' what she had in mind. And she was right. :D

Of course she found the shoes and said (while I tried to keep myself from blushing): 'Lemme look... Ah! Okay, I see! - You may proceed...', somehow implicitely asking if these were mine. To me this sounded furthermore like: 'Now I really know what I've actually always thought and what you're like!' - with a smile. I must admit, I somehow wanted it always that exactly she checks on me and my stuff when I had shoes in the backpack. But this time I wasn't prepared and didn't even think of it to happen. I'm basically kinda cool with such a situation in case I had the chance to mentally 'simulating' it several times the days before. But today it all happened way too sudden. And it was obvious that these were my shoes. But how to explain? Actually there's nothing to explain but, again, I'd like to have some minutes to get this straight with myself first before I get to the public with that. Finally, I admitted and she was still cool with it and kept smiling. -- When wearing my high heels I can control how much I show to the world of my passion by choosing trousers of a particular length unveiling more or less of the shoes - depending on the mood I'm in.

In the evening when leaving for home I will be wearing the higher heeled shoes that I brought along in the big backpack. I really like to see what happens in case she is (hopefully) still on duty.

[Mike] Unfortunately, she wasn't on duty anymore that day and since then was busy with registering other visitors and/or employees when I saw her at her desk. 09/13/04 [/Mike]

  13. Damn! From home it even displays the picture in your first post. Anyway --- That's what I call serious boots! I have pumps with that kind of heel. In my case they are 7.5" inches tall. So I do know what we're talking about here... Does she like or hate 'em by now? CU! -Mike

  14. Besides all the back and forth about and whether or not you get ripped off when ordering w/ Archenemy's - did somebody already place an order directly with '6 inch heels forever' as it is obvious that Archenemy's order the shoes from them? How do they respond? Are they reliable? Any experiences?

  15. 'Guest', come on! You can't be serious! -- This is not just gonna be a turn-down for ladies who are into high heels and who were right about to start wearing higher heels in public but really scary. There's been the dumb prejudice that a higher-heeled woman is kind of a 'pro' (which is BTW complete nonsens in my opinion - but that's the very reason some girls aren't gonna show up in high heels because they think they are considered like that in case they do so) which is emphasized even more by posts like yours. Unfortunately, by now the girls DO know what others might probably think and will be very likely refrain from showing off in their beautiful shoes - which is hence quite understandable. All this kind of posting does is damage! Ladies, please don't take Guest's posting as the other guys' perception. Guest: Please stop talking like that!!! CU! -Mike

  16. Okay, I've been away for while but here is another little story I want to share... Roughly two weeks ago I took part in a course at the gym as usual. Our trainer (she's actually with police and trains her colleagues there as well) once in a while tells us what she experienced when she was chasing the bad guys - so she must have seen a lot of 'strange' things already  and this must be why IMHO she made the following comment. -- We did some calf/tendons stretching when she pointed out that this particular exercise would be a good compensation for the stresses of everyday (high) heel-wearing. And she said: 'Guys, this is also good for you since there are high heeled shoes in male sizes out there as well! I've seen it!!!' (participants giggled). I thought she must have come across several stores of that kind where such stuff was offered because of her job (later that day I found she's into gothic stuff and such). Anyway, nothing wrong with that. But then only some mere seconds later the cutest girl in the room suddenly said: 'Heels for men? Why actually not?'. And she seemed to be serious. - Words failed me... CU! -Mike
