I remembered Kylie Jenner wearing something like this, so I had to go searching, found what I was after plus more...

    http://footwearnews.com/2017/fashion/celebrity-style/kendall-jenner-topless-boots-selfie-344906/

They were shiny enough I thought they were high quality leather, nope, satin... and in typical Kylie/Kardashian/Rhianna fashion, EXPENSIVE  They’re currently available for $4,590 on Net-a-porter.com.

I would love to have a pair of the copycats even, as long as they are all leather and have that same shape footbed, god thats sexy.  Too bad all the aliexpress vendors stop at 10, I need US11

Somebody must have liked them as they are sold out in all but one size on Net-a-porter.  I did contact several of the AliExpress vendors and they confirmed the boots were not available in a 12/13.

Out of curiosity, where did you find them?  All I could find with that description were fishing waders. :penitent:

  2. I am somewhat surprised at my reaction when I scroll down in your post and see the pictures of a guy in a skirt or a dress.  For many months now the reaction has been "looks good".  I really don't see anything odd or unusual, rather a natural expression of fashion.  It has taken me a while to get to this point.  Thanks for bringing me (and all of us) along on the journey.

Repeating myself, the outfit looks good and very casual, but I still think some clip on earrings would be a nice accessory (as well as a pair of boots :penitent:).

I have no doubt Thighbootguy will say that's because I successfully identify as female at first glance, even though I'm clearly not, still, I'm perfectly fine with that, it means I've done everything right when it comes to the appearance I present to the world at large.

    Yep.

Great outfit.  The blue bracelet is a nice touch with the blue top.

Interesting choice of words.  Ridiculous - "deserving of ridicule".  I hardly think this is the case.

Being from Kentucky I am sure this is how it is done, but here in Charlotte NC we change the tires, oil, and top off gas all under 3 minutes. If you go over that time we ask that you move to Kentucky.. Lol

And everyone is welcomed to Kentucky.  The state with fast women and pretty horses. :penitent:  (The official state slogan has it the other way around, but the horses really are pretty).

If you work on tires that quickly, you must use this method.

Seriously - Milrosplant is a serious guitar and cello player (other instruments too) and a slip doing mechanical work and slow you up for a long time.  I managed a small cut on the tip of my little finger of my left hand and couldn't really play for well over a week.

I can't explain why the need is so strong either. Does anyone has the answer to this about themselves here on this forum? I'm curious about that.

I have been trying to answer that question for a LONG time.  Some days the need is much stronger than other days, and I don't understand that either.  The best answer so far is that I'm wired that way (with no real desire to change it).

TBG I have too many gophers for heels that narrow.

Students or the burrowing rodent kind? :penitent:  The burrows of either could cause a nasty turn of the ankle, but these boots only have a 3" block heel and the sole has widened (this is a really beat up pair of boots) so they are reasonably stable on uneven and soft surfaces.

Well it finally happened.  A while ago I mentioned to my wife about me wearing heels. Yesterday, we had some time alone and I wore heels around her as we did some housework.   Not glamorous, but successful.    She was more accepting then I hoped.

What a wonderful woman.  Her main concern was was for my feet and legs.

Congratulations.  I'm sure that took nerve on your part and understanding on her part.  Keep the conversation going, and be sure to listen louder than you talk.

but she did enjoy watching me vacuum in heels.

I suspect she would have enjoyed seeing you doing the vacuuming even if you were wearing a suit of armor.  Vacuuming is a great way to a ladies heart.:penitent:

Absolutely, especially if the heels are on boots. :cheeky:

So is my next stop skirts?

This is a big question.  There are several approaches to taking a "next step"; Jump in with both feet (wearing heels) and go full CD, or take small steps (also in heels) exploring your comfort level at each step.  If you are really curious and in a hurry to get an answer the first approach works but it takes a lot of nerve.  The second gradual approach is much less nerve wracking and prolongs what I thing is a fun journey.

    I recommend exploring @JeffB's thread:

Well oh yea I have a problem but it's my vice  I have just a few pairs

Pair 397 Wild Diva work boots now that spring has sprung I think I have found the boots to do the yard work ?

I think Cali and others have mentioned boots/shoes for yard work.  These are my "Grass Cutting Boots".

    GEDC1847.jpg.aaa8bb4cf5110dce42e7451100a29e49.jpg

They are an old pair I got from Payless years ago and I have: narrowed the shafts, added leather around the toe, reattached the soles, reattached the heels, added insoles, replaced the shanks.  One of these days I'll give up on them but it is kind of a challenge to keep then going.  I do not wear these boots anywhere I am likely to be seen (my standards are a little higher than that), but they are great for pushing a lawn mower and offer protection from stuff flying out from under the mower.

  10. When working on a car I have never been able to keep anything clean.  How are you managing to keep those shoes that clean, or was this the before picture?

I may have shared this in other threads but it seems appropriate to include it here.:penitent:

    Oil Change

    Oil Change for Women:
    1.    Pull into Jiffy Lube when the mileage is 3000 miles since the last oil change.
    2.    Drink a cup of coffee
    3.    15 minutes later, write a check and leave with a properly maintained vehicle.
    Money Spent:
    Oil change: $20
    Coffee: $1

    Total: $21

    Oil change for men:
    1.    Wait until Saturday, drive to the auto parts store and buy a case of oil, filter, kitty litter, hand cleaner, and a scent tree.  Write a check for $50.
    2.    Stop by 7-11 and buy a case of beer. Write a check for $20 and drive home.
    3.    Open beer and drink it.
    4.    Jack up car.  Spend 30 minutes looking for jack stands.
    5.    Find jack stands under kid's pedal car.
    6.    In frustration, open another beer and drink it.
    7.    Place drain pan under the engine.
    8.    Look for 9/16 box end wrench.
    9.    Give up and use a crescent wrench.
    10.    Unscrew drain lug.
    11.    Drop drain plug in the pan of hot oil: splash hot oil on you in the process. Curse.
    12.    Crawl out from under the car and wipe hot oil off of face and arms.  Throw litter on spilled oil
    13.    Have another beer while watching the oil drain.
    14.    Spend 30 minutes looking for the oil filter wrench.
    15.    Give up; crawl under car and hammer a screwdriver through the oil filter and twist off.
    16.    Crawl out from under the car with dripping oil filter splashing oil everywhere from the holes.  Cleverly hide old filter among trash in trash can to avoid environmental penalties.  Drink a beer.
    17.    Buddy shoes up; finish case of beer with him.  Decide to finish oil change tomorrow so you can see his new garage door opener.
    18.    Sunday: Skip church because, "I gotta finish the oil change".  Drag pan full of oil out from underneath the car.  Cleverly dump oil in a hole in back yard instead of taking it back to auto parts store to recycle.
    19.    Throw kitty litter on oil splashed in step 18.
    20.    Beer?  Drank it all yesterday.
    21.    Walk to 7-11; buy beer.
    22.    Install new oil filter making sure to apply a thin coat of oil to the gasket surface.
    23.    Dump first quart of oil into the engine.
    24.    Remember the drain plug from step 11.
    25.    Hurry to find the drain plug in the drain pan.
    26.    Remember that the old oil is buried in the back yard, along with the drain plug.
    27.    Drink beer.
    28.    Shovel out hole and sift oily mud from drain plug. Re-shovel oily dart back into the hole.  Steal sand from the kids sand box to cleverly cover oily patch of ground and avoid environmental penalties.  Wash drain plug in lawn mower gas.
    29.    Discover first quart of fresh oil is now on the floor.  Throw kitty litter on oil spill.
    30.    Drink beer.
    31.    Crawl under car getting kitty litter in your eyes.  Wipe eyes with oily rag used to clean the drain plug.  Slip with stupid crescent wrench tightening drain plug and bang knuckles on frame.
    32.    Bang head on floorboard in reaction to step 31.
    33.    Begin cussing fit.
    34.    Throw stupid crescent wrench.
    35.    Cuss an additional 10 minutes because the wrench hit your bowling trophy.
    36.    Beer.
    37.    Clean up hands and forehead and bandage as required to stop the blood flow.
    38.    Beer.
    39.    Beer.
    40.    Dump in five quarts of fresh oil.
    41.    Beer.
    42.    Lower car from jack stands.
    43.    Accidentally crush remaining case of new motor oil.
    44.    Move car back and apply more kitty litter to fresh oil spilled during steps 23 -43.
    45.    Beer
    46.    Test drive car.
    47.    Get pulled over: arrested for driving under the influence.
    48.    Car gets impounded.
    49.    Call loving wife, make bail.
    50.    12 hours later, get car from impound lot.
    Money Spent:
    Parts: $50
    DUI: $2500
    Impound Fee: $75
    Bail: $1500
    Beer: $40

    Total: $4,165

But you know the job was done right!

    Work safely.

I agree JeffB. I was just curious as to why so many wore boots and not heels/ pumps

Speaking only for myself, I have two reasons.

The main reason is that I like the look of boots on me more than I like the look of pumps.  @JeffBwill attest that I have been grumbling about this for years.  I just haven't felt comfortable with my look wearing pumps.

The second reason, and I suspect a more universal reason, is that boots are easier to wear.  If the shaft is tight on the ankle it provides a great deal of lateral support.  Also, when is the last time you heard of someone walking out of a pair of boots?  You just don't have a problem keeping them on your feet.

You also mentioned folks wearing block heels rather than stilettos.  I find block heels much easier to walk with than stilettos.  That may be because I'm getting older and/or have a weak ankle but I find the additional stability of a block heel makes walking a lot easier.  However, I do have two similar pair of boots, one with a 4" block heel, and the other with a 4" stiletto.  I wear the block heel when I'm just out and about or playing guitar, but when I want to look good, I wear the stiletto.

    :wavey:

  12. I asked a couple of the AliExpress vendors if those boots were available in a US12/13 and both said they were not.  That lead me to think if they were available, would I buy them, and would I wear them in public?  In a moment of weakness I would probably buy a pair but I'm not sure about wearing them out and about.  I currently have two pair of crotch high boots with 5"+ stiletto heels that look great with jeans, but in both cases the boots are hard for me to walk in with any semblance of grace so I haven't ventured out in them.  I know, practice, practice, and more practice.:text_sigh:  Maybe I just getting old (no maybe about that) but wearing crotch high boots in public just doesn't have the allure for me that it used to have. :penitent:

  13. Do you buy shoes even if you do not need them?

Of course I do.  My favorite haunts are thrift shops so the expense of buying shoes/boots isn't that great.  Most of the time the only criteria is that they fit (at least reasonably well). Since I wear a 12/13 that tends to limit what is available.  However, recently I passed on a couple pair of boots because I wouldn't want to be seen wearing them.  Another limiting criteria is I'm running out of space.:penitent:

it seems to me most on here are all about boots. I must be honest in my opinion a boot with a block heel is just a boot.

Guilty.  I wore 5" stiletto heels for years until my left ankle failed and I had a choice of block heels or no heels.  Block heels won.  I will challenge the idea though that a OTK boot with a 4" block heel is "just a boot".

    GEDC1502.jpg.62d9380ef23d249c07ce8cf25eefdccb.jpg

But when I want to "show off" my boots I wear a 4" stiletto heel.

Really great look!  I shudder to think how my old HR department would have reacted to a request like that.  At work, do you interact with external customers or just deal with your companies folks?  That may have been a consideration for HR.
