    Thanks, I needed that.

    One last shot:

I thought I remembered that Illustrator could do this.  It took a bit of research to regain the skill.

I'll let JeffB get back to posting about jaunts.

I suggested you try wedge sandals sometime and you did by a visit to the grocery store.

I kind of thought folks might notice that I wasn't wearing boots. :penitent:

I'll admit to being comfortable with the look, but I did not find the shoes particularly comfortable. My little toe slipped out from under the strap several times, and the height of the platform proved precarious.  I'm starting to realize how comfortable I've become with a 4" heel with no platform.

I think my next trip to the cobbler is going to be to put toe plates on all the OTK boots I've been wearing.  With the wear pattern I put on boots, a toe plate should at least triple their life.

    do a Ponytail!

I wore my natural hair in a ponytail for 30 years, until there was too little to collect.  With the summer coming on I'll probably give it a try.

Read this as "Old Fart that likes boots" :penitent:

Since my last post I wore the black boots long hair outfit to the Post Office.  The gal behind the counter motioned for me ti step back.  I did and she looked me over, checking out my boots, and gave me a thumbs up.

    Thanks.  Nice boots.

There are some things for which I have absolutely no concept, such as making a sound like Plácido Domingo. Seriously, I can't even imaging making a sound like he produces seemingly effortlessly.  That yoga pose (but not wearing the boots) fall into the came category.

  5. That one sentence described mishaps that have occurred over many years of heeling and sometimes in a worn out boot.  The other culprit is worn heel tips.  I chalk all this up to "Lessons Learned" and "Adventures in Heeling".  However, I do find that a broader heel is more forgiving.

I think its several factors, the thinness of the heel, the height, unlike a chunkier heel a finer stiletto shoe is affected by where the heel is positioned under the foot - some heels are at the very back of the shoe, others are more forward from the back of the shoe - these are my preferred option as I like the classical feel.

Where getting into quite technical analysis here...

Another issue with stiletto heels is that it is easier to take a misstep if the heel gets angled towards the side of the shoe so that when your weight is applied it kicks out sideways. This can happen if your shoe doesn't fit snugly enough, your on an uneven surface, or just take an awkward step (I've experienced all three).

I should've mentioned that it had been fully rebuilt and hot rodded

That would have been nice to know, along with the new tires. :penitent:

It looks and sounds like you had a grand time.  I'll bet that truck turned a few heads (especially at 80 mph [129 kph]). One nice thing about the U.S.A is that there is always a bend in the road with something interesting awaiting.

It also sounds like your shoe quest was successful.  Looking forward to the pictures.

I know. I see it all the time. It amazes me more of these doofuses aren't killed.

I used to bike a lot (in boots) so I notice cyclists.  I live on hill on a state route that is very popular with serious cyclist (touring bikes, some for serious $) and they generally acknowledge my greeting, at least the ones going up the hill do when coming down they are too busy.  This road is also busy with cars/trucks but they share the road.  I have never seen a cyclist with headphones/earbuds, but a couple times I have seen teenagers, riding on the sidewalk, on mountain style bikes with one hand on the handlebars and chatting away into a cell phone in the other hand. I wonder from where they learned that? :penitent:

Bought these just before sale finished. Got them at $113 from 205 Including shipping.

Only slight concern is the squishyness of my toes... should be alright haha

I hope you went a size large to reduce the "squishyness". :penitent:

    Other than that, cute booties.

  10. I went looking for other pictures from Life Ball 2017 and that one looks like the cream of the crop.  I only found one picture of anyone wearing tall boots. :text_sigh:

I haven't had that much hair since I was a teenager.

Mine thinned out when I was in my 40's and is now quite thin but artificial hair is available at reasonable prices.  I am enjoying exploring my options.  I well offer that trying on hair takes an much nerve as trying on heels but I will add that it is just as much, if not more, fun.  We have to get used to the image we present when wearing heels and once we are used to it it seems like a natural thing to do.  The same thing applies to having hair, it takes time to get used to seeing yourself with hair.  It's a whole new image. :feel_rough:  Even if you eventually don't like the image, the exploration is fun.

    Admittedly this is selective reporting.

As a former Data Base Administrator I generally didn't care what was in the database, rather, only that it was available for the user community so for those interested in further analysis , look at the posts in this list:

  12. @JeffB, based on your "NUMBERS" going back to 2011I have noticed a disturbing trend.

It seems that you wearing of thigh boots has leveled off since July 2015 at 45 jaunts.  Its been a while.

My doggie here is a 35 Meg Nikon raw file, this upload is a 280Kb file which is only sharpened and reduced.

I use Photoshop to crop my images and then reduce the image size to 7" high at 72 dpi which generally produces a file in the 30k range.  This generates a decent image for the web with good (user friendly) download speed.   Nice dog.

but I need a cane now in the beginning...

The shoes look great.  They look like they should provide you with a stable platform for your feet.  Remember heeling is supposed to be fun and not hurtful. Take it easy and stay away from stilettos.

Really want to find a great pair of 6" boots so I can master them...

Be careful of what you wish for.  Assuming there is no platform, there is a BIG (as in HUGE) difference between a 5" heel and a 6" heel.  If your ankle is that flexible, good for you, but if it isn't, you can do some damage to yourself.  Step carefully.

  16. Welcome to the forum!

I've been posting here for over 10 years, and this is a collection of insane wackos.  Just kidding, this really is a good bunch of people with a wide variety of tastes in heels.  Explore the site.  Tell us a little about yourself... how you got started wearing heels, shoe size, you know, the important stuff. :penitent:

  17. Welcome to the forum!

Great shoes.  It looks like you will fit right in here.  As a new heeler, are you comfortable with a heel that high?  And just to make all us big footed guys envious... what size are they?

You will find many posts about heeling in public, especially for the first time.  Almost everyone starts by trying to find a secluded place but most of the experienced folks advise going to a crowded place.  It's great that you have tried shopping for shoes in a store.  Don't worry about saying the heels are for you (a sale is a sale, and a happy customer comes back).

Looking forward to more posts and enjoy your heels.

  18. Welcome to the forum!

There are a lot of us here that enjoy exploring our feminine side, and even though this site is about heels, topics about those explorations come up from time to time.  It looks like you have a good support group in your mentor and your dog and a great view from which to enjoy life.

as I entered Barnes & Noble after about an hour in the park, the security guard at the door, a thirtysomething black woman said, "Good afternoon, Miss."

Glad to know I'm not alone in my assessment. :penitent:

Great outfit.  The necklace, bracelet, and watch all work together to complete the look. To really finish things off add some small earrings (or great hooped ones) and more feminine glassed frames.

    You look great, @JeffB

forgive me asking... but what kind of underwear do you wear on your jaunts?

In years past, the answer to this question brought an admonishment from the Admins that it was  "Way too much information".  I suggest this be continued as a PM.
