  1. WisHighHeels, Nice to read your post. I am glad that you were able to try on heels and walk out of the store with them. I love to try on heels in stores and I do it all the time. I am usually wearing heels when I go to try on heels and I usually get great service from where ever I shop at. I love DSW , Naturalizer, Aerosoles, Payless, Famous Footwear, Macy's and a lot of other shoe stores and on-line shopping too. So keep up the posts we are all behind you and your heeling 100%. Happy Heeling, bluejay

  2. Lovyourshoes, You had a great time heeling and for a great cause too. Keep on heeling you will enjoy it, as I do. Sounds like your gal is a very special woman. Hope to read other posts on your heeling. Happy Heeling, bluejay

  3. I will echo what Steve said. You had some nice heeling events

    Thanks for your comments guys.

Sure I think the hair does play a part in creating an overall impression that blends in with what people expect to see. My aim isn't to "pass" as a woman though, and I've only every been addressed as "sir" which I like because I'm not being misclassified as anything other than a guy who happens to dress differently from the male norm (but actually quite conventional to the female norm). That's the thing, they're not "unusual" outfits, they're just unusual for men. I admit that places me on the more subtle end of the spectrum while others can be far more extrovert in creating looks that clash the norms more explicitly. I admire that too, we're all breaking new ground in different ways and I think it's not necessarily "easier" or "harder" to be at any point on the spectrum, we just do what we feel happy and confident about. It always takes more guts to go outside your personal comfort zone, wherever that comfort zone may be.

Not exactly "adventures" but here are a couple of incidents from the last few weeks:

    1) I went to one of these sportswear discount warehouse stores. I decided to wear my grey courts with black skinny jeans and a grey short-sleeve polo-shirt (womens, a nice fit, not at all baggy). As I was browsing this guy walked past, mumbled "disgusting!" and was out of sight before I'd even processed what he'd said. That's got to be far stranger behaviour than wearing nice shoes.

    2) I was in a public washroom drying my hands with my back to the door. I was wearing my new black suedette courts (5" heel with a 1" hidden platform), black opaque tights, stretch skirt (just above the knee) and a black turtleneck top under my blue denim jacket). I heard the door open and then a guy said out loud "Oh, am I in the wrong room?". I turned and casually said "No, you're in the right room mate!". He seemed totally relaxed about it in an oh-well-these-things-happen kind of way.

Actually buying those black courts was a pretty cool shopping experience. In the store I found a pair on the rack in my size and tried them on but they were too small which was strange because I've already bought the same style in blue and oatmeal and they fit great. Luckily I found another pair in my size and they fit just fine. I took them to the cash desk and after paying I asked the assistant "is it ok if I change into them before I leave?" and she said "yes, of course" just like she'd say to any other customer. I changed into them and they looked so stylish with my womens bootcut jeans. As I passed her on the way out I asked "So, what do you think?" and she said they looked really cool, asked if they were comfortable to wear and said she'll have to buy a pair. I said thanks and wished her a good night. Buying boring guy shoes was never this good!

You had some nice heeling events. Don't let the comment of one JA get you down. Wear your heels with pride as I do always!

    Happy Heeling,

  4. geot, I was in Indianapolis this past August and I did wear heels out without incident and while I was traveling wearing 2" block heeled sandals with red polished pedi did not receive anything negative between Indianapolis and western New York State, where I live. If you happen to get to the western part of New York State send me a pm and we can meet up. Happy Heeling, bluejay

  5. Something a little different for an "old" shoe.

Its suppose to cool off this wseek so I am thinking my "used" baker boots an

    Hose all week.

Like your heels with the black hose. that is a favorite look of mine too. Just last night I wore black women's cropped length jeans and a pair of black fishnet hose with my heels which was totally visible , for all to see, with my wearing cropped length jeans. Read about my heeling, For the Guys section thread, "Heeling with bluejay".

    Happy Heeling,

    bluejay

  6. Heels2U, Last Sunday in the supermarket I saw a woman 40ish, wearing multi colored socks with her 5" platform heeled pumps and was wearing cropped length jeans so the colorful socks were quite visible and she looked good too. I told that I liked her look that she was making a fashion statement with that look. Normally I wouldn't think of wearing socks with heels, but her look did impress me! Happy Heeling, bluejay

  7. I have several brands that I like. Aerosoles, Naturalizer, Easy Street, Born, Born OC, Modo Spani and Clarks in shoes. For Boots I have Nine Nest, Born, Naturalizer and several other brands that I don't recall. I have a lot of variety in shoes and boots. Happy Heeling, bluejay

  8. Friday, October 19,2012 I had a nice heeling event going to Kay's Jewelers to get some ring cleaning for my wife. I wore black cropped length(4" above my ankle) jeans with a hot pink polo shirt, black light weight, leather jacket and paired that with my Aerosoles "Tapestry" hot pink patent 3-1/2" heeled pumps and because I had on cropped length jeans I wore a pair of black fishnet thigh-hi hose. I thought the combination looked great, especially the pink accents for Breast Cancer Awareness, this month. The clerks and manager all have seen me in heels before and they are always interested to see what I am wearing. Tonight was no different. One of the female clerks, about 40 told me "You look hot" and the manager told me that the pink looked great on me especially my pink heels. The male clerk, who also has some feminine traits asked permission to take my picture to send to a girlfriend of his that is a breast cancer survivor. I said ok take my picture and send it to her. He said that he will send me a reply on her comments on what I was wearing. They also commented on my hot pink polished little pinkies too. For the next 15 minutes we had a great conversation about wearing heels. It was a great time for all of us, as the store was not at all busy last night. As I left I thanked them for the great time we had. Another nice heeling event! Happy Heeling, bluejay

  9. Mr X, Looking good. On Sunday I wore off white dress pants with pink shirt , hot pink tie and matching pocket square in my royal blue blazer along with my Easy Spirit "Parnella " royal blue pumps. I got several compliments on the combination. Wear white if you like too. I am sure that the fashion police will not cite you for wearing white pants after Labor Day! Happy Heeling, bluejay

  10. Rei, Go ahead and give it a try with the magenta. I have hot pink polish on my little pinkies only, because I keep those nails long. I have been complimented by mostly women on my look especially this month of October and wearing pink for Breast Cancer Awareness. At first my wife was not thrilled with the color pink (she has seen them in red at times and has come to accept red, purple and blue polish on my little pinkies) but a couple of days ago she did say she is starting to like it, maybe not 100%, especially as a waitress at our dining out complimented me on the look and thanked me for wearing pink! Happy Heeling, bluejay

  11. Jeff, Another nice outing for you. Your outfit looked great on you! I read that you put some sway in your walk, good for you. Be proud as you walk in your heels. I always do. Since the cool weather is here, I am getting my boots out of their storage totes for future wearings and look forward to boot heeling. By the way, your compliment on the necklace that you received from the woman clerk is a good sign that women like jewelery on men. I wear lots of jewelery and do get complimented often from women. Happy Heeling, bluejay

  12. I always do mine in clear. Sometimes I do my little pinkies in color like red, bright pink, royal blue and purple. I keep the nail longer on those fingers and just last week had them in bright pink color for Breast Cancer Awareness month and I did get a couple of compliments from women that like the look on me. Incidentally, I have a red pedi too and I do show it off wearing heeled sandals when the temps are warm enough , but I think that is over until next summer. Happy Heeling, bluejay

  13. BootCat, the last time that I went for my pedicure, the nail tech asked where I got my sandals from and that she just loved how they looked on me. They were Naturalizer "Daquiri" slide sandals in natural canvas (off white) color with a 4 " stacked heel. I like them very much. I put them away now that fall is here. I wish that I would of bought them in black too. I would still be wearing the black ones till the snow flies or it got too cold for sandals. Happy Heeling, bluejay

  14. Dave, I hope that you get a chance to wear the boots. They are very nice. Wear them for a short outing some evening maybe doing an errand or the like. After you wear them once you will do it over and over again. You will be making a fashion statement. Recently I have seen some men wearing riding boots (flat heels) with their jeans tucked in. I have gone out last year with that look but I have heeled boots and have gotten compliments on the look. I even have a pair of Frye men's black boots with a 2 1/2" heel that I have worn with the jeans tucked in, but I prefer to wear my women's heeled boots. I am even practicing wearing my Nine West 4" stiletto heeled boots with that look too. So try it you will like it!!!!!!!! Happy Heeling, bluejay

  15. Nice outfits SleekHeels. Well put together. I like the first one best. I like your red pedi on your feet with the sandals. That is a favorite look of mine since I also have a red pedi too. keep up the good work! Happy Heeling, bluejay

  16. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month are any of you wearing pink clothing or heels when you go out. I am and wondering how many other men are doing the same. Today, watching NFL Football games there was a lot of pink being worn by players, coaches and ref's too. I saw pink shoes, towels, wrist bands, head bands, caps and yes the ref's also had pink colored whistles. On Friday, night in the mall I noticed many people, both men and women that were wearing pink clothing and shoes. I have hot pink polo shirt, pink dress shirt, pink ties, pink baseball cap and yes pink shoes. In shoes I have hot pink patent pumps with 3 1/2" heels from Aerosoles and a pair of Dansko pink heeled open back clogs with a 2 1/2" block heel. I also have a pair of hot pink Easy Street "Traveler" sneaker clogs that are on their way from FootSmart.com. Today I purchased a pair of hot pink colored women's capris to wear hopefully on some warmer days this October. If you are wearing pink of anything let us all know. Happy Heeling, bluejay

  17. It's been a while since I posted a heeling event, been busy lately, but I do heel regularly each week. Today Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, I wore navy dress pants, with a light blue dress shirt and tie and because it was quite cool this early morning, I added a natural color (off white) sportcoat and wore my Naturalizer "Entice" navy pumps, with a 3" stacked heel and dark navy sheer knee-hi hose and as usual lots of jewelery including several finger rings, matching necklace, bracelet and anklet all in gold tones. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, I added a Breast Cancer Awareness pink pin to my lapel on my sportcoat and polished my two little pinkies in hot pink polish too. As always my first stop was to church service, but this morning no seemed to care I was wearing heels. I did get a couple of comments that I looked nice. After church, I went to the supermarket to shop as usual. My first stop was to the bakery to show myself to them each and every Sunday. All good comments on my appearance. The Oriental woman came out from behind the counter to get a better look at me. She noticed my lapel pin and mentioned that I supported Breast Cancer Awareness. She said that she was in the mall on Friday night and noticed how many people were wearing pink. I said that I love to wear pink too and I would be wearing pink during the month of October too. At that point I showed her my hands and my hot pink colored little pinkies. She said that it looked nice and I was not at all embarassed to show off my pink colored nails. I thanked her for the comment. From then on I made sure that my pink colored pinkies were visible for all to see. At the check-out the woman clerk was wearing a pink polo shirt and I complimented her on it. She also commented on my pin on my lapel too and when she handed back my change saw my pink nails to which she said " they look very nice on you". I thanked her, for her compliment. Next stop was to Walmart. I was greeted by the usual middle age woman greeter on Sunday mornings. She always has to look me over from head to toe and she knows that I like to wear heels and this morning was no different. We chatted briefly about what I was wearing and that the heel height this morning was not too high and that I always walk so well wearing heels and always present my self as a man dressed very nice that likes to wear heels. I complimented her on her silver glittery polish on her fingers and she said she has the same polish on her toes. They have to wear closed toe shoes (Company Rules), so she was not able to show me. She asked me if I still had my red pedi and I replied of course I do. I slipped off my pump to show her. the red color of my toes which was visible through the navy hose I was wearing. I then showed my pink little pinkies which she said looked nice and I did them in pink for Breast Awareness Month. She said did your wife do them for you? I replied that I do my own nails except that I do get a professional pedi on my toes, at the nail salon and I really enjoy the treatment very much. She said that for a man to color his fingers and toes takes a lot of courage to which I responded that I have a lot of that and I do like to present my self as a man nicely dressed that wears heels, lots of jewelery and also likes polished toes and at times my fingers too. She gave me a great big smile as I bid her a good day and went about my shopping in Walmart. As I was walking in the cosmetics section I walked my a nicely dressed woman (40's) who was wearing knee boots and leggings with a leather jacket. She looked sharp and I commented to her how much I liked her look this morning. She replied "thanks" and that was the end of the conversation. Later on in the office supply section of the store I ran into that same woman again. I smiled at her and she said, "I really appreciated your comment about my appearance, but now I have to return the compliment on your fashion and especially the heels you are wearing this morning. That was the only compliment on my heels today. Mostly others noticed my Breast Awareness pin and my pink colored little pinkies. Even the check-out woman in Walmart noticed my pink polish and did comment, thanks for wearing pink today. I really did enjoy all the comments and exposure this morning. It was another happy heeling event for me! Until next time, Happy Heeling, bluejay
