Larry, That was a nice outing, looking at and trying on heels at Torrid. I have never heard of Torrid Shoe stores before. I went to the store locator and found out there is a store near me at a large mall. I shop at that mall frequently and have never noticed that store. Maybe it just opened recently. I am going to look for Torrid, my next shopping trip there, as I often go to the DSW shoe store in the same mall. BTW, those are nice looking shoes. Hope your charity walk goes well .Enjoy wearing your new heels! Happy Heeling, bluejay

inquisitor, Great shoe haul for you. I especially like the pastel blue pair from Bakers. I love to wear lots of colors. I am now waiting for a pair of Bandolino "Galliegh", purple pumps that are coming from, DSW on-line site. Can't wait to wear them with a purple outfit, that I put together. "Hue" purple corduroy leggings, with a light purple, long length sweater and black leather jacket. It will be an awesome combo. i will post a pic when I wear the outfit, on my thread, "Heeling with bluejay". Happy Heeling, bluejay

I'm in total agreement with you, JeffB. I don't buy heels (shoes or boots) to be hidden by long jeans. I want them to be seen too!I couldn't agree more! HA! When I shop for shoes these days, I think about how well something I'm interested in would look with a skirt as I don't buy shoes so I could hide them under long pants or jeans. To me, that makes no sense whatsoever.
And yes Steve, " a guy can't have too many shoes".

Freestyle75, That's a great combination! It certainly IS NOT TOO FEMININE looking for a man to wear. I am really surprised that some laughed at your style. Shame on them. I have had people take second looks at me, but no one ever laughed at me for what I was wearing. And yes I am a real fashion forward male that wears heels openly for all to see. I don't try to hide them and I always walk with confidence when wearing heels, with men's clothing and other times wearing women's attire, when I am out. Maybe because I have been public heeling for over 20 years now, I have acquired the confidence needed. Incidentally, my wife is OK with my heeling. We even have matching pairs of shoes that we wear out together. We sometimes get compliments on our looks, like most recently on Valentines Day. Don't get discouraged by that recent incident. Keep on heeling and keep us posted too. Happy Heeling' bluejay

JeffB, You certainly had a great heeling jaunt today. Your look was really nice. The long skirt kept your legs warm too, for a winter's day. Glad you enjoyed yourself out and about. Happy Heeling, bluejay

After a few short posts on other threads, recently about my heeling activities, I decided to share with you my most recent outing, last night, Friday, February 15. Since wearing leggings has become a favorite of mine, I decided to try out an ensemble, using brown as my main ingredient. I just bought a new pair of "Hue" brown corduroy leggings and wanted to wear them out. I added a brown and tan leopard print top, brown leather jacket and matching brown leather, news boy cap. For footwear, I chose my "Aerosoles" brown leather, knee boots with a 3" block heel and a pair of brown trouser socks. First stop was to the Verizon store. I walked in to go to the payment machine in the rear of the store. There were only a couple of customers in the store and I don't think anyone even noticed me. I did walk about and look at new phones, before I left the store. My next stop was to Lowe's to get some sandpaper for my sander, to finish a project at my home. Again the store was not very busy for a Friday, night, so I picked up the sandpaper and went to checkout. I felt a couple stares on me in the checkout line, as I paid for the sandpaper, exited and walked to my car. It was about 9 pm now and since I had a late lunch, I was hungry and decided to stop at McDonalds for a quick sandwich. I was going to use the drive-thru, but decided to go inside instead. They were offering a fish sandwich meal on special, so I ordered one. A woman about 30, with a lot of tattoo's, came to take my order. She brought my meal after paying for it, she said, " I like the way you are dressed tonight, you are making a fashion statement". I thanked her for the compliment as I took my meal and went to an open table nearby. She must of told other workers about my appearance as several passed me by, while I was eating my meal, pretending to clean nearby tables. A couple walking by also did a second look at me. I Iooked up made eye contact with them and smiled. The woman about 40 said to me that she liked my animal print shirt I was wearing. I thanked her for the compliment as they went to the exit door. Even though it was a short night out, I certainly enjoyed myself out and about. I have added a couple of pics for you to see what I was wearing. Happy Heeling, bluejay

I totally agree with your comments JeffB and Thighbootguy. I for one enjoy wearing my heels with either male attire or with some women's clothing. If you have read my recent posts and saw my pics you can see that I am really into wearing leggings, with my heels (both shoes and boots) totally visible for all to see. Sure, some may look unfavorably at what I wear, but I get many compliments, especially from the ladies on what I may be wearing. I have found that a lot of women out there, both young and old, like what I wear, especially "MY HEELS", even though they may not be traditionally, men's wear!Well, I for one see nothing wrong with what we do becoming a normal way of dressing. In fact, I think that should be the goal of every heeler/freestyler, to integrate heels and (for bolder members like you and myself) women's clothing into our regular, everyday existence when we go out and about. If we garner attention from what we wear, great, if we go mostly ignored and are treated like just another person on the street despite how we happen to be dressed, that's great too. Normalcy can be fantastic!

Nice choice Debbi. I hope your DH remembered you yesterday for Valentines Day. I gave my wife a card, flowers, red licorice (her favorite) and a "Vera Bradley" heart shaped, change purse, that was on her wish list. (She is a big fan of "Vera Bradley" and has several of her purses and bags) My wife gave me a card, heart shaped box of Kit Kat candy bars (my favorite), emerald green polo shirt and a homemade cherry cheesecake, she made for me, "yummy". I took her for a late lunch/early dinner for Valentines Day We both wore red and got compliments from the hostess and waiter on our appearances. The hostess told me she liked my red shoes I was wearing and yes they were heels. They are Dansko "Rae" heeled clogs with a 3" stacked heel. I have added a couple of pics of what I wore yesterday. Have a great weekend! Happy Heeling, bluejay

I certainly did not take your comments as criticism SleekHeels. I am glad that you liked the band of color between my black pants and my black leather coat. Others on this site did not like the look. Just today, I wore the same but instead of the blue top I wore a bright red top for Valentines Day. I also wore red Dansko heeled clogs with a 4" stacked heel. I had several positive comments from the ladies and number one was from my wife. I see that look on women all the time. I like that look too!!!!!!! And that's why I wear it. We all have our preferences and that is one of mine.Sure, I certainly didn't mean to criticize, I'm just constantly thinking of alternatives to try just like when I look in the mirror. Personally I like the band of colour look especially with leggings or tighter-fitting jeans (but those wouldn't work so well with your funky heels, your looser pants are a better choice, bootcuts might be worth a try too). Thanks for sharing your photos, it's always inspiring to see how others are wearing their heels.
Again thanks for your comments.

Nice red shoes. They're perfect for today, Valentines Day! Happy Heeling, bluejay

Very nice look Debbi. I like the grey stripe on your slacks. It looks like they may be part of a suit you are wearing today.Today, I'm wearing one of the "cutest" shoes in my closet. It's what my DH calls a baby doll pump. They're from Jessica Simpson and feature a rounded toe and a 4 inch heel. Very comfy for a 4 inch heel and all day at the office...thank goodness, no meetings today!!
Have a good day everyone!
What no red? Today's Valentines Day. I am going to wear some red later when I take my wife out for a late lunch or late dinner. Her choice. We don't want to get caught in all the crowds between 5 & 9 pm, today.
Hope your DH is going to treat you today too.
Happy Valentines Day.

Steve, has made a good point. I like to shop at Naturalizer, both retail and outlet stores and the same goes for Nine West. There is no Aerosoles Store in my area, but I do own several pairs of their shoes that I like too. Most of my Aerosoles shoes have been bought from on-line stores. I especially like their "Tapestry" line of pumps and have several pair in different colors. I did get to a Nordstrom Rack store a couple of years ago, in the Mall of America in Minneapolis, MN and was very impressed at the heels they had at discount prices. I bought several pair that added additional weight to my suitcase when checking my luggage before flying home. All good stores for service and to buy heels in, for men. Happy Heeling, bluejay

Thanks for your positive comments, SleekHeels. I like that look with the band of color separating the black of my pants and the black of my leather jacket. I see that look on women very often and I like to do the same, as DebbiNC says, "a pop of color".Those are pretty funky looking boots bluejay... of course I like stiletto heels but it's nice to mix it up a bit sometimes. I also like the flash of bright blue against the dark outfit, maybe the look would flow more with the jacket open to create some vertical lines.

Thanks for the comments Shafted and Steve.Debbi,
I agree! Red shoes with black hose is an amazing combination. I'm sure you'll get compliments!
Bluejay,
I agree with Shafted. The boots look great and the royal blue top looks great, but the jacket you wore left a band of blue around your midriff that didn't do anything for you. A longer coat would have been better.
Steve
I liked the blue band around my middle. It broke up the black of my slacks and the black of my leather jacket. I see that look all the time on women and I do wear that look too. I have had several favorable comments from women on that look, too. Like Debbi says, " a pop of color".

Very nice Debbi. I love your red shoes and black hose. Those are favorites of mine too. I like to wear red heels as the color makes a fashion statement. BTW, the purple pumps that I ordered and received last week will go back. They were comfortable to wear, but not to walk in. Too high of a heel, close to 6" high heel, with a 3/4" platform. The specs stated 4" heel. Enjoy your day! Happy Heeling, bluejay

Just a little post of what I wore last night out. They are not new boots but I have worn them sparingly so far this winter I wore black dress pants, royal blue 1/4 zip Izod fleece top, black leather jacket and my pair of Nine West "7Riffle" ankle boots with a 4" oval heel. I have added a couple of pics too. Happy Heeling, bluejay

JeffB, I agree too. Those are nice shoes. I also never liked wedges until I tried a pair of wedge heel sandals two years ago from Naturalizer. Now I have three pair of wedge heel sandals and hopefully will get a pair of closed toe wedge heels in the future. For now it's leggings and boots mostly for me. But spring is coming! Happy Heeling, bluejay

Steve, I don't know what to read into that cookie. As JeffB said just go out heeling and see what happens! Happy Heeling, bluejay

Hi Debbi, Your purple shoes look very nice on you. Truly a classic shoe with the ankle strap. I like to wear purple too, as it is one of my wife's favorite colors. She likes to see me wearing anything in purple. I am awaiting a pair of purple pumps, that I recently ordered. UPS is supposed to deliver them this afternoon. I will let you know how they fit and will post a pic with a purple outfit. Here we are getting ready for a winter storm with 6-12" of snow on the way for Friday into Saturday morning. Looks like I will be busy plowing snow on Friday and Saturday. May be able to go out heeling on Sunday. Enjoy your weekend. Happy Heeling, bluejay

Thanks Guys for your input. I am not saying that I am a fan of Beyonce. I was just pointing out that she was wearing a pair of heeled booties that had a similar look to my pair, from Nine West, that I got from DSW. As far as being a fan, she is more to the liking of my teenage grand-daughters 14 & 15, than to me. She is in a different generation than I am. I remember when I was a teenager and we were really into the Beatles and my parents couldn't stand listening to them or watching them perform on the Ed Sullivan Show. We were sent to our room to watch on our 12" black & white TV, that my two younger brothers and I shared , in our room. My wife didn't care for her show at halftime , after viewing it on tape, as she was at work during the game, but both our daughters (29 & 33) said they enjoyed her show. So I guess it's a generation thing. Now I know two fellow heelers that don't have TV's in their homes. Not that I am a big TV addict, but I did enjoy watching the Super Bowl game on my 46" HD, screen TV. Happy Heeling, bluejay

Thanks Steve for your comments, I really enjoyed my self on Friday night wearing those red knee boots. I made a mistake in the post. I was not wearing black thigh-hi hose, but instead was wearing my black shinny leggings with the red knee boots.
I was hoping that JeffB saw my post and pics, as he has not commented yet.
Last night, I went to church just before the Super Bowl. I wore a pair of Bridgewater, 2 3/4" square, black, block heel boots, with a 8" shaft height, with MetroStyle straight leg women's jeans, black Izod 1/4 zip fleece and with keeping with the wearing of red for Women's Heart Disease Awareness, my Lands' End red jacket and red leather cap. No one seemed to notice my heels at church as they were a bit noisy and my stop to pick up a newspaper. The clerk at the store was too busy listening to the game last night.
Incidentally, I was rooting for the "Forty Niners", but they kinda fell short at the end. Jeff B should be happy, he's a "Ravens" fan.
I have added a couple of pics from last night.
Happy Heeling,

Shafted,Nice legs bluejay! The boots would be better with less form fitting pant such as trousers. The shaft of the boot looks enormous compared to your leg. IMO, they look out of balance. If the boot shaft wasn't so large, I'd like this look.
I hope that you saw the halftime performance at the Super Bowl last night, featuring, "Beyonce". If you noticed her heeled booties she and her cast of performers were wearing were similar to the pair that I wore and posted that you commented were" too big at the top of my booties". As the clerk at DSW shoe store told me that's the style of them and they looked the same on "Beyonce" last night.

I don't have a co-worker to talk about heels with, but I do have a friend's wife that loves to talk about heels with me. She often asks for my comments on her shoes and we have had some great conversations about heels and other fashion trends. More that once she has commented to me that, I know more about fashion and heels than most women she knows. I always respond that I make it a point to keep up with fashion trends, especially with heels, both shoes and boots. I also have great conversations with the women at the Kay's Jewelery store, that I often go to. They love to show me the heels they are wearing and love to see the heels , I am wearing. We have really had some great discussions about heels and they are totally in sync with a man that wears heels out in public! Happy Heeling, bluejay
