DebbieNC, That's a very classic look on you. You look fab in the jeans and basic pumps. I like to wear that look too. I like to wear a slightly cropped jean, about 2-3" above my ankle so that my heels are visible. I did that just recently before Christmas when I went for my pedicure, wearing open toe Born black suede mules. Luckily the pavement was dry and I didn't have to contend with ice and snow, as I didn't want to ruin my new pedi wearing closed toe heels. Even the salon tech complimented on my look. I did get a few stares from the other ladies in the salon, but I just walked proudly in my heels in and out that morning. It's Friday and that means a more relaxed wardrobe! Today, I decided to mix it up a little and wear a pair of heels with my jeans. We're going out after work to meet some friends for dinner so I wanted to be casual but still dressy! There's just something about heels and jeans that always seems to capture my co-workers attention!

Happy Friday!!

JeffB, I liked your look with the sweater and the leggings. I just bought a 1/4 zip fleece in off white and a bright yellow long sleeve polo shirt at a great discounted price from the Izod outlet store this past week. Izod shirts and fleece are much longer in length than other brands. They cover the back and fronts of myself when wearing leggings. It's about the same length on me as the picture of you in the sweater and the leggings. I looked in the mirror and liked the look too, Unfortunately it may not work for you since you are over 6' tall and I am about 5'11". But give it a look. Happy Heeling, bluejay

I agree with wearing jeans tucked inside boots, whether they are flat or heeled the look is catching on for men. I am wearing my boots that way more and more these days. I am starting to see that look on men in my area more and more. Back in early December I saw two men wearing their jeans tucked inside their boots at church. As I don't wear jeans to church but heeled boots and heeled shoes with dress pants, tucking one's dress pants into boots just doesn't look right. I have even worn tights, jeggings and shiny leggings inside my boots, maybe some stares but no negative comments at all! Happy heeling, bluejay

I too wore heels to a New Year's Eve party at our friends house. I wore my Payless black loafer pump/slip-on's with a 3 1/2" big block heel with a 3/4" platform. I also wore leather dress pants, with a purple silky shirt and a dress leather vest. I got several compliments on my look too. We were seated around a basement bar and a friend of mine's wife rubbed her foot on my leg and whispered in my ear, " I love your leather". My wife was seated next to me on the other side and she was also wearing her tight leather jeans with a silver glittery top and her Aerosoles 3" heeled booties. Had a great time at the party! Happy New Year to all. Happy Heeling, bluejay

Those are nice looking boots for every day wear. A nice sturdy heel for winter time wearing. I have a pair of Frye men's boots with very similar heels, like yours. I also wear them out when I need a sturdier heel to walk in ice and snow. I also like to tuck my jeans inside my boots too. In my area I am starting to see more men wearing their jeans tucked inside their boots too. I am glad that this is catching on for men, so that when I wear my women's heeled boots, I don't look out of place! Happy Heeling, bluejay

I agree it's a very casual look. The jeans tucked inside your boots is ok. I see that same bunching at the top of the boot on lots of women too. You can't always wear skinny jeans or leggings. Make the best of what you're wearing, because you are wearing heels and that's what it's all about anyway!!! Happy Heeling, bluejay

Great story TXGuy. I was in the Nine West outlet store on Wednesday, night . I saw a pair of brown suede loafer pumps that I liked, but like you the biggest size was a 10 and I wear 11, so I had to pass. The sales clerk was very helpful. She checked Nine West on-line inventory but no size 11. They would of been a great buy at $14.99 from the $89.00 original price. I tried on a couple of other pairs but nothing said buy me and take me home. As I walked out the store she commented on how well I walk in heels, to which I replied that I wear heels a lot and have several pairs of Nine West heeled shoes and boots that I wear often. I also told her that my wife was ok with it too! She didn't seem to be at all surprised by my remarks. Happy Heeling, bluejay

I wear pumps with a suit to church with no ill effects at all. I often get compliments on my look from both women and men I also wear knee boots with a suit too. I even wear red color boots and black patent leather heels and boots too. I enjoy wearing heels and I wear them proudly even to church! When I play my guitar at church, I actually prefer to wear heels, though for now it is just HH cowboy boots. Singing is easier, and foot switches are a little easier. But would really prefer pumps for the same reason of the switches, but in today's society, my boots are accepted, but pumps would definitely not be....

JeffB, Very nice look. Yes, men can wear skinny jeans with heels. I have done so a couple of times. As I said before I am going to wear shinny leggings tucked inside my new Nine West boots with a 4" stacked oval heel. The boots have a 8" shaft on them, so they go about 4-5" above my ankle. They are not an ankle boot or a knee boot. I just like them very much and they fit well. I want to post a pic when I wear that combination, on my thread, "Heeling with bluejay". Debbie, that's a great look. I like to wear black hose with bright colored heels too. I have worn red, royal blue and hot pink heels with black hose. I think that its a great look. I like to pair a similar color top, to match the color of my shoes. I have done this not only with polo shirts but with sport coats and blazers too. I have a lot of color in my wardrobe and I love to wear bright colors too.Seems like it's been a while since any of the girls posted on this thread, so I thought I'd just jump in! Today, I'm wearing red pumps with black tights. The pumps are from Bakers (sad to hear about their troubles) and feature four inch heels.
Have a good day everyone!

Very nice looking sandals. Did you buy those sandals from Nine West? I bought a pair in July from the Nine West outlet store just like the pair that you are wearing. I hope that you got a great price on them as I only paid $15.00 for my pair. I did wear them out a couple times with black capri jeans and I liked the look and also got a couple of stares and double takes too. By the way I like your pedi too. I also wear a deep red color also on my toes.Just received these last week, but today was the first chance to wear them. 6" heel, 2 1/4" platform. Pretty comfortable even though they are a half size too big (I normally wear a US 9.5 in a women sized sandal). The thong does not intrude at all (look closely). Been in them for about 5.5 hours so far and no issues.

Steve is right on with this. I will always compliment a woman that looks great especially when she has nice heels on. I remember a few months ago complimenting a very nicely dressed woman with great heels, shopping on a Sunday morning, at Walmart and she responded that the heels I was wearing looked nice to her too! Make a compliment, get a compliment in return. Happy Heeling, bluejay

Steve, those royal blue peeptoe heels that I wore last July when we shopped are very comfortable and easy to walk in. The heel is not as thin as the heels on my Nine West booties. Take my word for it, I will be careful walking in those booties.Bluejay,
Again I applaud you're courage to wear stilettos. DO be careful though. We can't afford to have you fall and bust your butt. I remember the stilettos you wore when we went to Bon Ton shoe shopping on that Sunday in July when we visited you. We had a great time and your heels looked fabulous with your color coordinated outfit.
z91209,
Welcome back. Thanks for the comment. You never know how someone is going to react, but I'm glad your gf is positive about it. Many are. Be sure you treat her well!

Yesterday, Sunday I pushed the envelope a bit. I wore black dress pants, purple dress shirt and tie, black and white check suit coat and my Nine West,, black patent stiletto heel booties with a 4" heel. I did not wear them to church because they made too much noise. There I wore my black Born "Gail" loafer pumps with a 3 1/2" stacked heel, that made no noise at all. After church I changed into my Nine West booties. I first stopped at the supermarket, got out of my car and walked across the parking lot to the door with my heels clicking loudly. As I entered the store, I almost slipped on the highly polished floor and from then on I was very careful with my walk. I just took shorter steps and walked slower. I went to the bakery department first to say hello and they all come to see what I am wearing. One woman always tells me how nice I look so I went over to show her. She knows that I wear heels a lot, so I lifted my pant leg to show her my heels. She said that they were very high and that she couldn't wear anything like that and that I should be careful walking in the store. I replied that I was getting used to wearing them and that I would be careful, walking. As I walked the store aisles I did get some stares and double glances but I didn't hear any negative comments, as my heels were quite noisy. I enjoyed myself out wearing my stiletto heel booties and I hope do it again soon. Happy Heeling, bluejay

Steve, That was a very interesting evening for us back in July. I still think about that young woman when I go to DSW and how great she thought it was that we wore heels and had pedi's too! Happy Heeling, bluejay

Like you and your wife, my wife and I have some matching pairs of shoes, that we wear out together. It's a lot of fun to do that and she is ok with my heeling as long as the shoes are not too frilly looking.(Bows and flowers etc attached to the shoes)Yes she is totally fine with my heel habit. She's a shoe freak herself with over 100 pairs of shoes so that may be a help things a bit.
We actually have a few identidal pairs and we've worn them together on a few occasions...She thought that was a riot.
We've been together for 20 years and my high heel thing has always been out there in our relationship.

I agree those are nice boots and are not very fem looking with the block heel. Hope that you enjoy wearing them too. Tuck your jeans inside to show off those boots. I am seeing more and more men with jeans tucked inside their boots. I wear them that way alot even with stiletto heels. Happy Heeling, bluejay

Nice looking boots, antha. I hope that you enjoy wearing them. Yesterday, I tried on some boots at DSW in the store. No problems at all and no odd looks from other customers while I was walking in the boots. I also was wearing sheer black thigh-hi hose and no one seemed to care that a man was trying on heeled boots wearing hosery!I hope i'll be as you fortunate with these i've just ordered from topshop

Thanks for your reply to my post. This evening while I was at Kay's Jewelers one of the clerks showed me her new mani and pedi. She had a french mani with royal blue tips a silver line and the rest of her nail was in white. Her pedi had the same color of blue which looked very nice and I told her so. I slipped off my heeled clog I was wearing to show her my red polished toes that were visible even though I was wearing black knee-hi hose. Her comment was "Looks good, you have a Christmas look". I replied that I love the color of red on my toes and that's the color I wear most of the time.I get a pedicure every two weeks in a local nail salon and always wear bright red or hot pink on my toes. Whenever I'm not at work, I always wear women's sandals with heel heights that vary from 1 inch to 3 inches. My fire engine red toenails are always on display and I get a lot of compliments from women on my pedicures. Two women that attend my church liked my pedicures so much that they are now going to my nail technician and one of them has started wearing my favorite nails polish (OPI Big Apple Red) on her toes. My dental hygenist also wears red polish on her toes and when I visit her for a teeth cleaning, we always compare toenail polish. You really can't go wrong with bright red toenails. Red toenails are classic and bold. Marilyn Monroe wore fire engine red on her toenails. Whenever I am having a bad day, it really cheers me up to look down and see 10 shiny red toenails peeking out of my sandals. Professional pedicures are also wonderful because the foot massage is so relaxing. I always leave the nail salon completely relaxed with ten bright red toenails.

I already wear skinny jeans tucked inside my heeled knee boots with a 3" stacked heel. I also have men's Frye boots with 2 1/2" block heels that I wear with jeans tucked inside. I have had compliments from both men and women with the tucked in look. That look is not only for women, but men can wear that look too even if they don't wear heeled boots and wear men;'s riding boots.I am already doing jeans tucked into my boots, which is my only way of going out heeling. Most crowded place so far has been going to a movie theater during daytime hours. My next challenge is to go into a large crowded mall on a Saturday afternoon, assuming that there will be giggly teenagers ready to capture what they saw on their iPhones.
My next challenge will be to wear leggings with knee boots. I bought a long length sweater from the tall men's shop that goes to about 3" above my knee which will work fine to wear with leggings so that nothing is revealed!

projectz, I like the color very much as I wear the same color on my toes, I am thinking about going to a bright pink the next pedi. I have had compliments from women wearing sandals with my red pedi. At first my wife wasn't too happy with the color, but she got used to seeing my toes in the red and she started to like it. Even my daughter, 33 years old complimented me on the color. Hope that you enjoy your red pedi. You could wear peep toe shoes to show the color off. If you live in a warm climate wear heeled sandals to really show them off! Happy Heeling, bluejay

JeffB, Looking good my friend! It always amazes me that you are so comfortable in whatever you are wearing. I like the skinny jean look with the thigh-high boots and the leather jacket. I wear skinny jeans with booties to knee boots most usually tucked inside and I have never received a negative comment. Some stares or double takes at most. Keep up the good work. Happy Heeling, bluejay

Syphon9, Those are very nice booties. I have a similar pair that came from Nine West a couple years ago. The heel is not quite as thin at yours but the heel height is the same. I like to wear mine with skinny jeans tucked inside. After getting out of the car I always have to re-tuck the jeans back inside the bootie. They are fun to wear and I can put up with the extra trouble. Happy Heeling, bluejay
