Yes, have seen a few pairs on poshmark, usually not my size though...I wear women's 11.  I have seen the puma wedges also, along with the adidas promodel/superstars...  I even saw one pair of adidas stan smith heels, wondered if they were for real though....

So the Converse store I have been visiting lately has a few pair that are size 11 wedges if you’ve any interest.

Adding in: I am an addict for sure. I went back today and bought the silver metallic ones for the same price! $22 for some sweet shoes

Great job Kneebooted!  Let us know how you lost 30 pounds, I need to lose some weight also.  I think you looked great in those lace up boots and gloves, very powerful....But, you are really rocking those leggings also.  I really want to find a nice pair of Nike wedge sneaks also....

Sounds like you have a great wife and family, my hat is off to you sir....Don

    Don,

Are you looking for what they call the Dunk SkyHi? If so, look on a website called Poshmark. I have seen a few float through there. They aren’t usually new, but they have very light wear. I would also suggest you look at Puma wedges. They have some nice ones as well. What size do you wear?

  3. Well I had some time to kill before trying to meet some new people out here in Cali. I originally went to a local mall with the intent of looking at some Steve Madden boots. They didn’t have what I was after, but I ended up in a Converse store. They had 3 pairs of wedges in my size, and a sale! I bought these beauties for a whopping $22. This now makes 4 pair of the wedges that I own. I may go back tomorrow so that I can get another pair, since the sale is continuing! The other two pair were a white pair and a metallic silver pair. Now I need to figure out what these will go with. Any ideas?

Here's some online feedback I recently received.  2 laughed.  Both that laughed followed up with "you look great though" or "you killed it".  One just downright digged it.

Where did you post this to get online feedback?

I went back to Dillard’s tonight and found the salesman that complimented my boots last week.  We chit chatted a little about them, and when he asked if I was interested in anything I pointed to tall pull on boots!  Long story short, I walked out with some Antonio Melani boots with 4” heels and 19” shafts.  They are so comfortable that I plan to wear them regularly into the office.

I love these boots! I’ve been looking for a pair like this but in brown... were they on sale? I went to Dillard’s website, too pricey for me lol

They should have trays there, usually stacked up right before the conveyor belt.

Sorry your boots got damaged buddy, but they still look fine and have plenty of life left in them....

Wish you were on one of my flights, I'm with AA....D

I only fly American if I can help it! I fly back tomorrow to SJC through ORD

Maybe from the seat in front on the plane. Put them in a tray next time?

The downside is there is no big tray in the precheck line that I remember seeing. I wore them under my jeans on the plane. I think I will reconsider wearing my favorite boots lol, although I am ocd and hate the idea of any of them wearing out...

  8. GAH! So I was showing off some outfit ideas to my wife and took off my Nine West boots only to discover they apparently got damaged when they went through the scanner at the airport! I’m not certain it was done there but they were in tip top shape the day before, and they’ve been put up since I got in town... has anyone ever had this happen? I realize there’s nothing I can do at this point, I just needed to vent.

Perhaps it's just an illusion, but it looks as though you have lost weight in the last year! In any case, your "costume" seems like it could be an actual, serious outfit.

It is no illusion! I am down 37 lbs when I weighed yesterday, and I am feeling really good. I still have a bit to go, but I am finally in a place where I have begun to feel comfortable in the clothes I am wearing!

    Thanks @mlroseplant

The zippers will get you every time.  I have Clear too, but my boots have to come off.  They all have zippers.

I once wore riding boots and thought that the extra metal details on them caused the need to remove them. I would like to think that if I wore a pair that were pull on with no zipper that I might make it through without having to take them off.

I fly again around thanksgiving, new task for myself?

  11. Well, it has been quite some time since I have posted in here. Needless to say I have had some heeled adventures but nothing I’ve thought to mention on here, mainly because the majority of it has been in my Converse wedges which are hardly noticeable.

I did post in another thread about my flight back home yesterday, which went surprisingly well.

However, today, I got a chance to wear another “costume of sorts.” My cousin and his fiancé got married today, and they encouraged people to wear costumes. Now I knew I wanted to wear boots, but we were struggling as a family to figure out a cohesive family set of costumes, one that would include our son.

Then it hit me, we could be a basic family! If you have never heard the term of being a “basic” chick, it usually entails leggings, Uggs, pumpkin spice lattes, etc.

So out of respect I won’t post the other two members pictures, I will post me in my outfit! Needless to say I got some confused looks from some of the fiancé’s relatives, but it was all in good fun.

Now the real question is do I wear this for my work’s costume contest on Halloween?

  12. I can’t think everyone enough for the support so far! I’ve made it through my first leg and am waiting to depart on my second leg to Louisville.

This truly is a wonderful and supportive forum, and I can’t express how much your kind words have helped.

I have taken the advice and kept my headphones in for most of the flight, which has helped tremendously. It has given me an opportunity to people watch and have caught a few lookers, although no comments or compliments. But if I am following the spirit, I prefer to blend in and not draw attention.

So here’s to my last leg and some weekend heeling! (I’m going as a basic chick for my cousins Halloween themed wedding tomorrow) pics to follow.

  13. I would guess airports are more likely a noticeable place because we are all heading to the same place in the same direction. Everyone is standing around so they pay attention to their surroundings. Thanks for the replies on here, because it is helping me stay calm and distracted so I don’t overthink and assume everyone is watching. I would like to think that the people who notice don’t give it a second thought.

But I would not be surprised if as I am sitting and the boots on show a little more, I end up with people trying to get a closer look.

Weird observation, is it just me or do guys notice shoes more than women? The people that are paying more attention(I presume) are guys.

    Weird

They are not that noticeable under the jeans - you can probably just keep them on.  Besides, isn’t Kentucky horse riding country?  I imagine boots with some heel are not all that strange there.

They are noticeable if you are looking lol. Guess who got selected for a random pat down? This guy!

TSA pre-check and I still had to take off the boots because the zippers were too much metal.

EDIT: so far, I’ve passively observed a few people notice, but no one has said anything to me, so that’s a plus. They are people watching just like me.

  15. Well, due to a last minute change on my arriving end, I had to change things up a tiny bit. I’ll not be wearing my jeggings tucked into boots as my in-laws are picking me up, who are very conservative and not aware as far as I know of my heeling. So I’m wearing my boots still, but with bootcut jeans so I can put my Converse wedges on when I land so as to not cause a stir, lol.

But it’s the first time I’m flying in noticeable heels period, so a small milestone!

  16. So this question kind of revolves around heeling, but I wanted to make it a general inquiry as I realize people may not accessorize based on their heeling.

Nonetheless, I am curious, if you work in a place where you carry a laptop to and fro, do you use a backpack style bag, or messenger style.

I am currently using a backpack style, and when I was putting together my possible outfits for my flight tomorrow, realized that the backpack look just doesn’t go with a business/business casual outfit in my opinion. I see it as too “young” of a look, as if I’m in school or something. What are your thoughts?

ALSO, if you use a messenger bag style, do you like it and would you recommend it?

    Thanks!

Wear the tall boots and pack the other ones.  I always wear the tall boots when I travel.  It is easier to wear them than to pack and haul them around - they would take up so much space in a travel bag.

If I end up wearing the wedge ones, I won’t pack the knee ones. I’m just going home for a couple of days.

  18. Well, I think I’m fairly convinced that it’s now or never, lol. I’ve never worn pants tucked into boots except for a steam punk event that I talked about last year.

Sitting here convincing myself that what I do is so minimal and inconsequential compared to the massive universe we are in, I think I’ve narrowed it down to two choices...

Essentially it’s the one outfit from before with the knee high boots, or my wedge ankle boots with the lighter colored jeggings

Well, I am surely partial to the black heeled boots.  But, the most important thing is that you wear an outfit you are comfortable wearing in a public situation.  I like the black jacket, with either of the t shirts, along with either pair of tight fitting jeans tucked inside the black heeled boots...Those boots look easy to walk in for sure.

I can't wait to hear how your trip went, see more pictures, and hear about pleasant conversations and compliments...You look great buddy, where are you moving to in Ca?

I am currently living in Palo Alto, but will likely end up in Hayward.

Thanks so much for the compliments!

Actually, that’s a navy colored jacket. Do you still think it goes together?
