  1. So tonight since I am up in Cincinnati and had nothing to do after work, I ventured to a local DSW. Now I had seen these online and was curious what they looked like in person. All I have to say is I am super excited to have purchased them. I did not try them on in the store, but getting back to the hotel, the fit is very good. The bottom of my feet at the base of my big toes hurt just a little, but I love them!

  2. So I recently acquired TSA precheck here in the states for two reasons.

First, I was wishing to reduce the time waiting in the ridiculously long lines to be scanned.

Second, as I am still sometimes uncomfortable with my heeling in public areas, I also was hoping that with the precheck and not needing to take shoes off, I'd be good to go.

I was wrong about the second part. It turns out even my new ankle boots from Franco Sarto that only have a little metal zipper and nothing else, set off the metal detector. No big deal because they look metro and not very feminine. But then on my way back from SF, I decided to wear my naturalizer knee highs, knew with the metal detail and zipper they would set off the metal detector. I said oh well who cares, and when in line just went ahead and took them off. No one made any negative remarks, just two women asking why I was taking my shoes off. I told them I knew they would set off the metal detector. The only other reaction was the one girl smiled when she saw what i was actually wearing as shoes.

Bay Area just south of San Francisco.  Was pushing myself to heel on BART today. Our subway for folks around the world. Sadly chickened out.   Might have been better as I would have stood on the train and there was a sudden stop.  Would have been hard to keep balance with heels on. LOL.

@Spareheels I am over in Fremont at the moment. I have been in Burlingame before. Are you near there? Yeah, I've ridden BART and unless you're sitting down, I don't recommend wearing the heels. I've been trying to find someone out here to meet up with for a bit of heeling, even if it's just dinner. I brought some nice boots with me, alas I haven't found anyone yet.

  4. So today was my first time flying where I had pre-check. I paid the $85, and am extremely happy I did.

The one thing I noticed though, is that with wearing my new ankle boots, I still had to take my shoes off because the metal zippers set the metal detector off...

now this is by no means a big deal because it didn't bother me in the least, but an interesting observation, considering my belt wasn't an issue, but the zippers were.

Great oufit. A royal blue shirt would pop with that. Also a red or burgundy one.

7 for Mankind Jeans at a thrift store? That is an awesome find.

Thanks Robbie. Yeah, royal blue is actually one of my favorite colors, but that shirt was dirty when I took the pictures.

As for the jeans, I know right?! They weren't a perfect fit but I vowed to lose enough weight to fit into them...

Have I just made a massive mistake?! This week I returned these boots as they were a tad small. Too scared to try and break them in and then not be able to return once worn.

I can only say they are beautiful. Also, if they were close to fitting and just needed some breaking in, I probably would have kept them.

  7. This is a possible contender for a meetup in September in the Cincinnati area...

Boots are from Bakers, style Jessie. An ex bought them for me years ago.

Jeans are Seven for all Mankind. Got them in a thrift store in SF.

Jacket is a brand called Charles and a Half? Not real leather, but I think it looks really good, which is saying something because I normally don't wear light colored jackets at all. Got the jacket in SF as well thrifting.

    Would love feedback.

  8. So depending on weather, if it is too hot or not, I will be wearing these boots I got from Bakers a few years ago. The jeans are seven for all mankind. Picked them up at a thrift store in SF past time I was out there...

  9. @spikesmikeI am a size 10 in women's for the most part...

As far as meeting city goes, for me I would be more comfortable outside of my home city as I am less likely to run into people that I encounter for work. For me, it likely wouldn't cause any issues, but I prefer not to take the chance. So I would still vote for Cincy.

  10. So I just now came across this post, and must say I am excited at the opportunity to meet fellow heelers. I live in Louisville, yet travel to Cincy regularly for work. So if you all are still debating on which city, I would vote for Cincy. As far as dates go, my schedule fluctuates week to week, but if you all set a date far enough in advance, I'm pretty sure I could adjust my schedule to accommodate.

  11. Hi everyone. Since I am in the Bay Area for a couple of weeks for work, I decided I would look into getting some wedge ankle boots while I am out here. My question is though, if you are in the Bay Area, where would you suggest to go shopping that won't flip out when they have a guy trying on heels. I know of places such as Payless, etc., but I was wondering if there are places that are not as widespread?

I usually wear a size 10 in women's, so I don't need any specialty shop.

  12. Well, it looks like work has made a decision and is sending me to the Bay Area for two weeks for work...

While I am out there, I would like the opportunity to meet other enthusiasts, make and/or female.

Is there anyone that is in the Bay Area in San Francisco that would be around the next couple of weeks starting this coming Sunday?

  13. Hello everyone.

I am finally back on the site after years of absence.

I hope everyone is doing well. My name is Jeff and I live in Louisville, ky.

While I used to focus on many heeled boots for myself, my wife now has let me indulge her with some wonderful boots as well.

I have gotten to a point where I am wearing some boots I own in public, although currently they are riding boots and essentially no heel.

I now travel for work to Cincinnati on a somewhat regular basis, as well as San Francisco area in California.

It would be nice to be able to make some local friends on here and share experiences with others.
