  1. While I still get the "butterflies" it always helps if you know someone who will go with you. About 2 years ago, I was seeing this lady from my job who loves wearing 3.5-4" heels (part of my attraction to her no doubt). I went and re-applied at the same job for the winter, and saw her. We talked and 2 times we've been out to Friendly's and movies. I told her before of my love for heels, and she can understand. Not only that, she begged me to wear them out with her! First time out, I had to down 3 glasses of wine first. We went to Friendly's and it was packed. The tile floor betrayed my 4" stilettos which were well hidden (only saw the pointed toe and tip of heel) and I got a few looks. She was with me wearing her 4" sandals, and encouraging me to "work it"! The movies were the same, but by then, I was more relaxed and walking confidentley! Few people noticed, but I think they noticed her more. By the time the movie ended, I was purposely walking over the tiled sections of the floor, pant legs rolled, and loving it! I doubt I'd have experienced this alone. I needed Sherry there, but found it was awsome! I'm lucky to know her, and I know we're going out soon while I wear my new 4.5" stiletto heeled pointy toed boots. My pants won't be too long, though! You know people who would support you, I promise. They make it easier!

  2. I also have to agree with the pointed tow, 5" stiletto pump. Especially low/no vamp and thin stiletto. My first pair of heels I owned (a friend's sister threw hers away when I was 12) was a pair of these, and they've always been my faves.

  3. Hi Henri, I was supposed to have been working at the Aldo's at the Mall of NH in Manchester, they need more help at the Aldo's in Nashua, so I bounce between the 2. I just open on Saturday and Sundays now. I haven't worked in heels yet, though a few of my customers seem to be urging me to. Soon, and I'll take pics...:winkiss: Thanks!

  4. Usually, with most heels, you want to go 1.5 sizes higher from men's to get your women's size...BUT, a size 9.5 Pleaser gives me plenty of room, where a size 10 Luscious is tight. Size 9.5 Bandolino is comfortable where a size 10 Guess is tight. If they can do it, have them order a 12.5 and 13. 13.5, if I had to guess, would slip off the foot backs for you.

  5. 5.5" to start (no plats)?? Yes, a bit mad. I've been wearing heels since I can almost remember, and have a tough time walking gracefully for long distances in 5.5+" heels. The 5"ers with the 1" plat are much better, if still a bit tough on beginners. While theorectically speaking, it's only a 4" lift, the plat takes away a bit of stability. Excellent advice on shortening your gait, and keep your back straight and strong, toes pointed straight. Always heel-toe with a nice and smooth arc from the heel to the toe as your weight goes over each step. Keep your chin up, posture good, and keep it slow. Good luck.

  6. Excellent post, and good taste. For your last quandry, I'd also go with the Bardots. Just bear in mind that with strapless shoes at such large size you'll have to get the size nearly perfect to prevent the backs from slipping off as you walk, especially as you are more or less practicing. This is yet another excuse to always try on shoes in the store. I work weekend mornings at Aldo and have 3 regular guys who purchase heels nearly every weekend (and I thought I bought a lot of shoes??!!) who have trouble with pump-like shoes! Many of the summer styles are gone now, with more emphasis on boots. Good time to get good deals on pump like shoes. BUT, make sure they fit perfect... Have fun.

  7. Hi guys, Sorry for the absence, but not only working my usual gig landscaping, but working Aldo (awsome!) Sat/Sun mornings from open to 2PM, but also bouncing in my usual club on Sat nights... Talk about going from being "girly" right to being a "tough guy"..LOL Things will quiet down soon, and I will make a thread about my recent heeling. Some new shoes, and some new adventures. Went to 6-Flags wearing these new wedges (Rue 21), and it was awsome! Bad phone pic, but the pedi was tight... BTW, I wear mostly "feminine" shoes, be they heel height, shape, and strappiness. Pointed toes, too... These wedges...definately feminine, as the French Tipped toes. But me?? Well, not so much...

  8. I had a D'orsay style shoe from Pleaser that had an advertised heel of 6'' but was only 5.5, which is a noticable difference. then I sold them to stilettoscot.

    And still love 'em, mccar7hy!

They did measure between 5.5 and 5.75" for me. I then got a pair of '6" Dominas which wrap up the calf, and they measure a true 6". Go figure.

  9. Rule #1 when you go out heeling to a club... BRING YOUR OWN CAMERA!! Well, here's a few shots from a week ago. My gf (who said she does not mind being in the pic) decided I try a tighter, more "punk" look. Here's the end result. I do need to lose the remaining 10lbs, but considering my ex wife, ex gf, and both sisters there, and all 4 gave their thumbs up, I'll take it! Felt good, had a blast! Good night... Pic 1 from the house after (due to the camera women not getting the heels in at the club..)....tipsy. Other pics from the club (#2 with gf)...including another bartender drive-by..LOL
