  1. I purchased my first pair of pumps in 1978, and then my first pair of knee high boots in 1979, I still have them today as memory. I bought them because I fell in love with heeled shoes and boots. I paid for them myself, $32 for the shoes and $68 for the boots. I bought them at a shoe store with out trying them on and was successful in my sizing. Most womens shoes at the time only went to size 10, I was just a little smaller than I am now 1/2 size. I wore them at home while no one was there, and as time went along I wore them driving and at the location where I worked, alone of course. The history! Mtnsofheels

  2. Hi Wedgemao, Nice boots, I too have a liking for these type of booties. In fact similar ones to yours, I recently picked a pair of Jeffrey Campbell's up, "Damned Pixie Man" as seen below in pictures. I am wearing a black slim leg pant that goes with these kind of boots, I am also planning to wear boot cut and/or slim leg low rise jeans that will show 2-4cm of the boot heel. I have a pair skinny jeans which look good as well. Wider bell bottom jeans or black pants will look good. As for tops, sweater like turtle neck of v-neck as you mentioned, even a Polo shirt would look good. I have orange Polo shirt and a black leather jacket that these will look really good with. Both of these are similar to the Rick Owens boots from 2 years ago which were on the market for 650 Euros, these are not as much and will work just fine. Let me know what your thoughts are. 3. Just before Christmas (like 3 days before) I tore my meniscus cartilage in my right knee. While it s not a major knee injury it did take me away from regular winter work. I found that wearing 3-4" heeled shoes and boots made it feel better versus flat soled footwear. Then shortly after having the knee scoped (surgery to fix the tear), I refrained from wearing heeled boots simply because the risk of further injury(mind you I was not doing a lot of walking or moving about for a week after the procedure) however now 2 weeks after I am wearing 4" wedge heeled boots again and it feels good. Has anyone else had similar experiences with knee injuries? Or any other leg hip injury stories out there? Mtnsofheels

  4. Well lots of opinions out there about the high heel, but I think that Maninpumps has pinned it down the best "In my opinion "The purpose of a high heel " is to have fun wearing them". I think that is the nowadays purpose. Fun and in so many styles to accommodate the many people who wear them. Sexy, alluring and attention getting......yes! I'll put another pair on tonight.......hmm fun fun.. Mtnsofheels

  5. Interesting subject of course, I have not run in any of my heeled shoes or boots, however the though has crossed my mind since I wear heeled shoes and boots often and I live in the country where I do get lots of bears and other wild animals that regularly visit my house. So the thought of sprinting in heels has shown up on my radar, just have not reason to do so yet. I will look to have the picture of the bear and me in heels just for sprinting laughs. Mtnsofheels

  6. Those are awesome heels Black _ Boots, Are you wearing those in the picture? Where on the web did you find them? Nice legs and heels combo anyway. The sole is a common pattern for hiking and climbing boots (aka Vibram soles). In fact, for you Maninpumps, you can find this sole from a cobbler who specializes in climbing and hiking boot repairs. As to where?, an area where mountains and mountain sports are found you should be able locate a cobbler. I have had these put on a variety of boots (climbing and hiking) when mine wear out. They can be thin or thicker depending on the boot they are being applied to. Also some companies make similar soles which are not rubber and are slippery on wet floors, the rubber ones do work better on wet surfaces but would be the test in a nice skirt and those pumps. Back to the pumps now, those are really nice looking, winter pumps, I don't think so, and open toe spike, I say that looking out as it now snowing another 15cm, thinking that wearing that shoe here, now..no. That combo sole is found several shoes and boots in the past and present. However I would jump on a pair those in the spring. Mtnsofheels

  7. Just found this one again. Thank you Heel-lover for your details on pairing, good info. I have been pondering a new hand bag, I have used one from a leather clothing store for travel and it has been really good. it is black and is a good travel bag. Now I am looking for one that is a little bigger so I can take camera along with me. I have tons of camera bags but am looking for a bag to match some heeled boots while heeling in bigger cities. Nordstrom's has some ones. Ah yes, the accessories are now becoming a needed Item. Coordinate....yes. Mtnsofheels

  8. I just got a pair of Campbell "Damned Pixie Man" the other day, it is a concealed wedge heel with a zipper on side and a decorative zip along the back. Liking these, similar to the Rick Owens model from a couple years ago. Could not refuse them. Solestruck has been a pleasure to deal with, I will certainly get more from them. Pics will come in spring once snow has gone! Mtnsofheels

  9. Greetings everyone and all the Very Best for 2012! I am making a New Years Resolution to do more heeling in public this year. It is time to just go out and "Do It" go and feel happy about our love for Shoes and Boots! Go and enjoy our lives, wear what we want and have all the very Best of 2012! Cheers! What are your New Years Resolutions? Mtnsofheels

  10. For me I would go for the boots first, since shoes are available more during the year boots more in winter. They are awesome boots! second is teh first pair of shoes, they really nice as well. Have fun shopping, 2012 will be a fun year for wearing boots and shoes! Mtnsofheels,

  11. Hi Canuck_HH, We find ourselves in these awkward situations sometimes over and over again in life. I too have been where you are right now. As Walkonit said to suppress it you will not be a happy man, it will come back. Personally honesty is the best thing you can do, if she has a hard time accepting that you have those kind kind of interests then is not accepting you for who you are. It is not easy but in many situations we can have interests just as they wear pants combat boots or what ever. We are forced into corners conformation by society and we just have to be honest with ourselves first and then rest of society. It is OK to be who you are, those others will accept us or not. In the end it your decision as who you want to be. Hope it goes well! Mtnsofheels

  12. Hi DProud2700, I just recently picked up a pair of Dr Martens "Leanne" Wedge Boot, I have had another pair from earlier this summer the "Marcie" , Both are really nice boots, one is a knee high 3" wedge the other is low calf boot with 3" heel. I am really happy with them and highly reccommend then to anyone. Easy to walk in 3" is not so high and for they fit really well , I have them in UK 8. Also have ordered a pair of the Jeffery Campbell Pixie Man which is wedge boot for men similar to Rick Owens but much less expensive. I have not got them from Solestruck yet but hope to for Christmas. Hope to get pictures at sometime to post them. Mtnsofheels

  13. Good for you Legs777777 and Tacchi Alti, What an awesome feeling that you have given yourself, keep it up, if you stop for a while it feels like same thing over from the start. So keep the timing between outings as short as possible, then it will like an every day feeling. Keep it up guys! Mtnsofheels

  14. Lots of freestyle here, that is awesome. In addition to the shoes and boots, whenever I can which is 50-60%, I do wear womens jeans (which fit way better), pants, diamond studs and hoop earrings, tank tops and some other shirts. I have not worn much makeup but hope to change that this year. In general it is a freestyle but am hoping do more total feminine look, I feel it is more me than masculine image. With such a short time here on earth time to be who I want to! Mtnsofhees

  15. Thanks for sharing your stories and it sounds similar to mine as well. It has taken several relationships to find out what I needed to do for my potential date. Funny how honesty and openness is the key to success but seemingly so hard to do when it comes to telling a person close to you about your heeling interests. 2-3 relationships ago I vowed to approach any new relationship with the simple honest and open chat about my interests. I know that has been hard for some girls but I just know I could not be any other way with them. So now I am able wear what I want when I want and am so happy just being me. That does mean I can be that way everywhere I go but certainly in a relationship it is now the norm. It reminds of a phrase from extreme skiing which is "Panic, Fear, Pain...my job is done here" It also feels so good to know that you are not hiding anything from your SO/wife/partner. Good stories! Mtnsofheels

  16. Boots are my favorite. I love all heights, ankle, knee and thigh high, my variety has lace ups, zip ups and pullons. Heel height go from flats to 5", the collection has 4"cowboy boots with a 20" shaft, wedge boots (my current interest) and a few of pair of stilettos. I also have a pair of Fluevog Grand National (clove and hoof) boots which are close to being my all time favs, but no one is top dog. Just love all boots. Canada is a cooler country so boots are in season all year round which I am really happy about. Mtnsofheels

  17. Interesting shoe for sure, however I am not a huge fan of patent shoes or boots. I do like the pump itself maybe with an almond shaped toe, but I do come away with a cheapish feeling. Given a chance to try them could change my mind though. Mtnsofheels

  18. Hi K6ps, Thanks for the link, I missed them on my regular e-mails from Sole struck. I do like them and ordered the Pixie man today. They look awesome! Can't wait to see them! I now have a couple pairs of Jeffrey's, they work OK, had one pair whose souls fell off, Soul struck replaced them with another style so they were awesome to deal with. Mtnsofheels

  19. Greetings all, Driving in heels, I do much of the time except in very cold winter temps. As for height of heel while driving, mostly 4-4.5", since I have few over 5" that does not happen often. In the last couple of years it has been with an Automatic versus standard shift though. It is an amazing feeling to drive a nice sports car with a nice pair of heels on! Mtnsofheels

  20. I would like to say height but it is indeed style which I buy my shoes and boots. Average height for my styles is 4" with some at 3" and a few at 5". For some time now I fallen for wedges for my style, really like them the countryside living. That said I can say in the new year I am looking at some spikes again. Happy heeling for the holidays. Mtnsofheels

  21. Eoneleg, I have a very sentimental handmade silver ankle bracelet which my wife made for me 10 years ago, I wear it on special occasions with sandals or shoes. It is thicker so does not go well under hose or tight booties. I have a couple others as well, I like them when I can, they are fun! Mtnsofheels
