@TK@TKHeels how did you accidentally buy those?! Are those ten inches? Good luck! I wear 10, at that height Pleasers stop at size 9. I'm jealous.

Pleasers run up to size 12 or more. Those 10" heels are available up to size 12, just hard to find.

  2. I bought a pair of heels the other day. I found them in a second had clothing store and knew I had to but them, $10, who could refuse! They are 'Glaze" brand. Never seen the brand before, probably a "store" brand.

  3. I just bought a couple pairs of Levi's 710 skinny jeans. I absolutely love them.  For stretch jeans they are a bit on the heavy side, plus the lycra makes them really cling.  Not a lot of ball room, but  I can deal with that. They are tight right down to the ankle.

  4. They look like Pleasers. I have a couple pair. I was concerned that they would be of poor quality, but mine have held up well. I have a pair of clear platform sandals with the same shape. Virtually identical, but clear heel and platform, same clear toe strap but with ankle straps. I wear the hell out of them. May favorite knocking around the house heels.

  5. So........if a female posts a pic of her torso, with boobs, will it be deleted?

Hey guys, don't feel bad. Years back I had a picture deleted because it almost showed too much!

It was in a "best legs" post, and I was wearing shorty shorts, and I had cropped off the pic right up to my crotch because I knew male "bulge" was not acceptable. It didn't show anything but leg and was deleted.

Oh man, that really sucks.  They did it to themselves.  During the early Brash days Payless was totally rockin.  Then all of the sudden their heel heights seemed to come down, there were fewer and fewer wide widths, and the styles became fairly mediocre.

Serious bummer though as I always loved going into a Payless and trying on shoes.  I usually didn't walk out empty handed.

I agree. In my earley heeling days, about 6 years ago, Payless had some attractive heels. The last few years they have been disappointing.

Size 4, regular, perfect fit! Except that I had to shorten them by 4.5" (11.4 cm). Where are all these super tall, super skinny girls? I don't see them around.

I work with one. She is 5'10", I asked! She is tall and thin, but a very nice figure for a skinny gal. Also, she wears high heels every day, plus tight, skinny jeans most days! Extremely attractive.  I did take a chance once day and mention to her that I have an attraction for high heels and we have had short discussions on heels although I have not admitted how far my attraction to heels goes.  The other day she mentioned that she noticed my boots I wear have fairly high heels. I have worn them only a couple times. I may tell her about them. I feel she is "safe" but I will proceed carefully!

  8. I have a pair of Pleaser heels, about 6 1/2" heel, but a 3" platform. Actually my go to shoes for lounging around as they are so comfortable. If you study up on Pleaser heels you will find they stay at about a 3"-3 1/2" difference from the platform to heel, no matter what the heel height is. I have been tempted to buy a pair with 8" heels.

  9. My wife and I were at a office party. I was wearing a men's dress shoe. Later on in the evening one of the women was complaining that her feet hurt, she was wearing a nice pump with a three inch heel. I asked her what size she wore and she gave me a strange look and asked, "why?" I told her I could trade with her for a while, she got a big grin and said size 9. Crap, I wear a 10.  She went on to ask me if I was serous, and I told her I was. I could tell by the look on her face and her reaction that she thought it would have been fun. Plus I would have been out in heels in a fun way, and if anyone got weird about it I could have easily played it off as just messing around.

The US arrangements sound far too complicated.

It isn't all all complicated when you deal with it daily. Most homes are just wired for lights and outlets at 120 volt, then add a clothes dryer at 240 volt and air conditioner. You wire the larger 240 loads as an individual circuit, so the breaker and wire is sized for the load. The USA allows home owners to do wiring in there own homes, so it can not be too terribly difficult. (although you should see some of the messes they create!)

The 208/240-460 volt three phase is commercial wiring and pretty much only seen there, but all the basic rules apply as for breaker and wire size.

Remember that the USA has a Federal system of government where all sorts of regulations can vary between states.

Pretty sure most states in the US use the same code book, National Electric Code. The big issue is enforcement. There are not enough inspectors to look at everything and there is many do it yourself types pulling wires with no clue what the book says and never getting an inspection.

  13. I bought a couple "stealth" high heel boots last week, same brand, Sam Edelman, similar style. At first glance they look like a western boot.

The first style is call "Walden", zips on both sides, and a 2-1/2" ~ 2-3/4" modified western heel. Smooth leather. The heel is higher than advertised.

The other is called "Winona", similar heel, pull on with elastic around the ankle. Western stitching on the toe and arch.

I wore the one pair to work today, of course, nobody noticed.  Fairly comfortable, the size is slightly larger than I am used to. I generally find a woman's 10 to be a bit tight on my left foot so I ordered these in a 10-1/2 and ended up reordering them in size 10 and they fit fine with thin socks. As they are leather I anticipate they will stretch a bit then I will wear a heavier sock. The toes are a bit long and narrow, but I have narrow feet. Hard heel so they are noisy on hard floors. Roughly $150 for the one pair and $160 for the other.

  14. Macky, I was wearing a pair of western styled ankle boots at a party and one women practically shouted, "what are those boots you are wearing!" everyone got quiet and she made another comment which I have forgotten, but it was clear she did not like my choice of footwear. I just gave her a "look" and mentioned that I don't normally take fashion advice from some one wearing sweat pants, sweatshirt and trainers bought at Walmart, which is what she was wearing, typical lazy woman's fashion. I got a chuckle from a few people that were watching this unfold and that was the end of it.

Flip flops belong in communal showers, the pool, and the beach.  It's incredible how many people just wear them out and about.  Why not just go barefoot.  There was a lady yesterday in the office in flip flops.  Yeah we're business casual, but I guess anything goes.  In that case, I'm totally legitimate wearing green or purple boots in :)

I believe you are the minority with that opinion! I see flip flops worn all over, I will wear them myself occasionally. We travel a lot by motorcycle and often my second pair of footwear are simple flip flops. After wearing boots all day it feels good to "air out" my feet!

During my 30 plus year, non remarkable career, attaining the coveted “Peter Principle” status, I was told by a very, very few that I was percieved as “mean” and “unfriendly” by some female employees... Go figure, at least I tried....  Looking back, I find the whole thing comical.....    smile

    Take care all....   sf

Then you get in trouble if you are too friendly. You can not win! I try to be "business casual" and keep small talk to a minimum. Although i work with a 60-something year old gal that is tough and full of B.S. She has told me more than once to "F" off when I give her a little hard time. It probably helps that I knew her before i was employed with this company.

I work with a tall attractive young lady that wears heels most days. I long  to compliment her on her footwear and often the clothing she is wearing but bite my tounge and don't say a thing as I am afraid it will taken wrong.

  17. I have a couple pairs of Luichiny heels with a 2"-3" platform. The instep stops a little behind the toes and is fastened there with a couple nails and a few staples. I have had to take all four shoes, pull off the inner sole pad and drive a couple sheet rock screws through the instep and into the platform. I just repaired two of them tonight. The other pair I did has been holding up well. I love the shoes, but really can not recommend them unless you are handy with tools!
