We are talking sandals here, not pumps.  Pointed toe sandals.

I don't see where the conversation is for sandals only. Sandals were mentioned, but not restricted too.

  2. I for one could care less about Payless. I bought a couple pairs of heels from them over the years and thought the were the worst fitting shoes. Once you buy real leather it is hard to accept cheap plastic shoes, although I admit I do have a few pair, but from better brands. Most of my heels come from DSW or Ebay. One of the last pair of pumps i bought were Micheal Kors. They were over $100 regular price, on the discount rack for something like 50% or 60% off, then they were having a 30% off sale. They were under $30. All leather and very comfortable.

If you have a DSW in your area it is worth it just to cruise the closeout racks. I find some real deals there.

  3. I have a pair of Pleaser 8" heels with about a 4" platform and I manage our stairway here at home without issue. I even go up and down with my hands full. Our family room is in the lower level and we often cook our food and head down to eat. My wife just shakes her head because I handle stairs better than her and she has worn heels all her life.

  4. I have a few bikini styles I could wear, just not that interested with neighbors in close proximity. Our deck is open to our neighbor's yard, they can get  good look from their yard. The pink boy shorts with the pouch is enough!

I think that perhaps we may be entering a time where there's just not a lot of shoes that I want to buy. Not from normal outlets like Nine West, anyway. I have a ton of Nine West shoes, and it used to be something I searched for, but all of these shoes are at least 5 model years old, most probably older than that. Now, I look through their website, and my reaction ranges from ambivalence to cringing.

I agree. I have a couple pairs of heels from Nine West, but over all their styles don't do anything for me. The good old standard spiked heel pump, and spike heeled boots is about all I like, and their styling with the heel straight up at the back of the shoe is not my favorite either. I prefer the spike heel to curve slightly forward, but it seems to be the style of the day.

  6. 5mm isn't long, try 20mm past your fingertips! ;-)

One thing I have noticed with extremely long glue on nails is the extra stress they put on my nail bed. I can feel the nails flexing my natural nails and nail bed. Just another sensation I have never felt before. Nothing damaging, but i have been careful. I assume the glue will fail before damage occurs.

  7. Milrose, I know how you feel. I love messing around with fake nails and did so last Saturday. I like them long and ridiculous. Too bad I wear them for just a few hours, perhaps over night, then back to my "man" hands. My wife told me to leave them on, but i had some things to do and they definitely get in the way. Woman that wear them long, how do they do it? I can type on a key board, zip my pants and button a shirt, but Sunday AM my wife asked me to peal an orange and I held it in my hands and there was no way!

Recently got a pair of white Pleaser Flamingo 1020 boots. Bought and ordered on Tuesday, delivered on Thursday morning. 8 inch heel platform boots ain't that much of a challenge.

Most Pleasers the heel ratio works out to around 3-1/2" when you subtract for the platform. I am guessing those 8" heels have a 4" or better platform. I have a few pairs of Pleasers and they are good quality, but nothing special. I have a pair of 8" heels sandals with clear platforms for those "slutty" times.

  9. My wife and I went shoe shopping Saturday. She is accepting of my "interest" in Heels and we looked for both of us. I bought a lovely pair of Micheal Kors pumps, regular price $109, on the discount rack, on sale for $38, and we both bought a pair of Jessica Simpson Zelta strappy heel sandals, regular price $100, on sale for $15!! I still don't have the nerve to try on in the store, but we talked about it Saturday.

i do know some gals indeed find it a turn, not sure what this gal was thinking.  but i do know, when the above photo was taken, at that party, a woman did come up to me and say: i am coveting your shoes.

    now that was quite exciting!

Sounded like the perfect "ice breaker" to me. You needed to keep feeding her lines and open up the conversation. You never know where it might have ended up! Perhaps another woman to enjoy your heeling adventures.

I was leaving a local department store and I had a woman compliment me on my medium heel boots, I told her thank you and that I loved her high heels too and gave her a better look at my boots. We talked for a few seconds and I told her I loved high heels and I got a knowing smile from her. I told her it was nice talking to her but I had to go. Plus I don't think my wife would approve with me socializing with other women!

I leave that stuff to the pros.  Last 40' tree I had taken down only cost me $250.  Money well spent IMHO.

I got a couple quotes to take the evergreens down, both were in the $1500 range. Cost me about $400 to do it myself and help from a neighbor.

The fun part is working out of an aerial bucket. Almost like a carnal ride as the bucket sways back and forth and it feels like the whole works is going over.

  12. I cut down two evergreens in my yard, 70 and 75 feet tall. There was no where to just drop them plus right next to the house so I wasn't taking any chances.  I rented a aerial man bucket and limbed them from the ground up. When I was 50 feet in the air I realized how tall they were. We tied off a rope to my truck as  high as I could reach and lopped off the top 20-25 feet then started cutting off the trunk in manageable chucks.

    No blood was shed!

This promo video for Louboutin 'Trouble in Heaven' perfume is worth watching!   (I have to say, however, that I prefer women with a few more curves.)

I like her curves. I like my woman on the slim side. I have been married to both. First wife was a larger gal, rubenesque, the second a tiny little 100 pounder. I prefer the 100 pounder. Easier to toss around in the sack.

When they only use a Dremel to take the gel off they also take a layer of nail and your nails get thinner. My nail tech would take a few layers of gel off with a Dremel then wrap my fingers to remove the the rest of the gel.  My nail artist was going to change me to another method where she used the Dremel to remove the color, but not the hard clear coat underneath.

They are saying at we may not have nail salons back until the end of August. Unfortunately my nail artist has decided to move back to her hometown, 4 hours away, so I will need to find a new artist.

It might be time to learn how to do your own nails.

  15. I bought from Ebay a pair of white platform heels with the Britsh flag all over them. The seller sent two right hand shoes. Neither of them fit my foot. Luckily the seller took them back, including shipping.

I was rather disappointed as I really liked them!
