When we last left Laurie, she was recovering from some surgery. She was not able to wear heels, or even move around much. But as the week progressed, she was able to heal up and do what every woman must do when feeling down... she went shopping!
The only day worth mentioning is Thursday, as it is the only day I wore heels this week apart from a few moments at home here and there.
But Thursday more than makes up for the lack of other days!
Heelsonline is a wonderful place. Why? I can drive to their office in fifteen minutes, try on shoes, and pay cash.
The girls working here are wonderful, and they own some of the shoes and can give great opinions on them. I even had a compliment on my old Oxfords.
They are having a clearance sale, so there isn't much in stock. However, the nice ladies were able to find four pairs for me that I could enjoy and afford. Clearance prices are great! At $25 Canadian each, more or less, this was the best bargain ever. All pairs are size 11.
Pair #1
A simple shoe, white Baby Doll pumps with a four inch heel. The toe is more round than the picture indicates.
Pair #2
A strappy sandal with a 4 1/4 inch heel made of lucite with a metal shaft in the middle. Black patent and a little big, but they'll feel good at the end of the day
Pair #3
Leopard print strappy sandals with a five inch heel! These are going to be a daring shoe for special days or Fridays at work. I'll need to shop for a top to compliment or match. They are very comfortable.
Pair #4
Patent stilettos, that you may have seen already.
The strange part is this. They are Jante 8887, the same as my other pair, but the heel is higher, and is measuring at 5 1/4 inches. I think the reason is a thicker heel tip. The two pairs along side do show a difference. I think the slight increase in height will help.
So I now own eight pairs of shoes with a heel above four inches, four of those pairs have a heel five inches or higher. This is excellent progress for me, but of course, it is not enough.
By next Tuesday I will be back at work and back in heels all day. If the weather stays warm, I can even try out the strappy black sandals at work!
I hope you like the pictures, and I hope to have more over the coming weeks. I cannot promise anything, but I will try.
Thank you for reading!

People are slaves to the ideas of a very small minority with money and the illusion of control. The majority wouldn't care, but for a few people trying to tell us how everything should be. Just stop listening, and encourage others to stop listening, and soon, individuality will bloom.

Not really much chance. My web camera isn't going to allow for a full body shot. I will post a picture of me standing in five inch heels when I get ahold of the picture for scanning, but at this time I do not have it to scan it.

And a close up of the shoe, sort of. 5 1/4 inch heel, a new high for me.

Here it is, taken 26 April, 2002, late afternoon. I don't think it is as good as it can be, and the perspective is off somewhat. But I am wearing a new pair of patent stilettos, the heel on this pair is a bit higher, 5 1/4 inches compared to the pair that is a plain five.

I am still trying to get those brass heeled shoes. It's my own version of the brass ring. I may have new shoes right now, but I really would like a black pump with a metallic heel. They look so damn classy I think I'll cry if I never find a pair.

Susan, you're right that the answers may vary, but in that sense, each answer will provide insight, and a general theory can be created. There may be commonalities in the responses. Certainly shoes are a bonding point between my mother and myself. Even when she may worry about my new leopard print stiletto sandals, she still has a mischevious look on her face, because they are what she would have worn at my age or younger. I am sure she had a pair. The simple answer, I believe, is yes, heels can provide a bond between women. Where it goes after that will vary, as you say. Every story is different, but then, that is what makes us all so very interesting!

It's in the extreme because of the training nature, and the end result of being able to wear seven inch heels, even if just for five minutes. It is more extreme than regular topics, I suppose. So give it a look!

Look for details about new shoes in this weeks diary, it will be #12, posted here under the fetish and extreme section, and of course, a copy will be on Jenny's board as well. And yes, I used the web camera for pictures today! So we can look forward to those as well. New shoes for Laurie. How wonderful!

Just some random thoughts about this. I think that any urban situation is suited to high heels. After all, we're in a city with paved roads, actual sidewalks, and buildings where at least we expect everything will be smooth and easy for a walk. And if there are some cracks or an obstacle to navigate, we can manage. Yes, cobblestones, and yes, ice and snow, but in a modern North American city, I would say heels can be worn all of the time, even extreme heels if the wearer is proficient. Just some thoughts on a snowy afternoon.

I can't say what I will wear going out in that last blast of winter snow, but at home, a burgandy stretch top with short sleeves and a high neck, and a short black stretch skirt. And black strappy sandals with a four inch heel. There, today's outfit. By next week I should have more interesting things to talk about, when I get back to work.

Rubber stockings, Vicki, you'll have to tell us about wearing them, since they are so uncommon. I would think rubber would be enough, but then a seam... is that a rubber molded seam, or is it another material?
-
You've done it now, Vicki. You're a trend setter!
That's great news, interest means people may dabble in heels a bit, or a bit more, and in the end we all benefit. You're changing the shoe world for the better!

I have seen four pairs of heels today, two four inch and two five inch! They're new and in my bedroom! *TEASE* I think I'll save the details for diary day. Heeheehee, oh the torture.

The aspect of fetish as an object that allows focus, such as feathers used for old world magic spells, has been changed, sure. But so often, the strongest obsessions can involve sexual responses, and those are thoe ones society has a fetish for reporting. I cannot fathom why, but there is quite the media focus upon things that society cannot approve of. It's much like a car accident, where it is gruesome yet everyone looks.

aren't kids wonderful!
The whole idea is to allow them the freedom of expression so that they are not rebelling, just being themselves. I would think allowing the option for heels would help foster that.
Until I have some children, I cannot comment for certain, of course. But I think it is possible to raise children that have only minor rebellious aspects in them.

Nice jeans, Inga. I wish I could buy jeans that looked like that on me! My outfit today, a bit simple. Pink sweater with half sleeves, and a long black skirt with slit on the left. Black stockings, and black oxfords. I won't be outside much, granted, but looking good helps one feel good, and thus, recover.

That's true enough. Non sexual fetish, but one all the same. But if I have one for shoes, why not have more about other things? Having a fetish for the kitchen section of Ikea doesn't seem as healthy, somehow...

Way to go, Jo-jo! Okay, so they're not your style, but higher is better and you'll move up quick, don't worry!
Congratulations on passing 100!

I am wearing my five inch stilettos at home. It must have a positive psychological effect, because I am feeling better and it has been half an hour now. I am not walking very well because of being sore, but my spirits are lifted, so it has to be good. Even injured I can still compete. OI like that.
-
Lets' face it, Inga, we're all obsessed with fashion, even if it is not with the trends. I know it is a stereotype, but it is so much fun! I know women who hate to shop, but I love it, especially when I have money!

Hello Maryanne, and welcome to the wonderful world of the HighHeel Meeting Place. Do post often and share as much as you'd like!

Okay, so there is no promotion involved, but this is #601. I would say, at the least, that I am doing well. And I am bored, not tired, and eager to type. Woo hoo, past 600. Only 150 until I reach a new style. Hey, not enough promotions happening around here, someone had to find a reason to celebrate!

This may have been discussed before, I don't know. I am bored, and Eva posting something about ternds for Tweenagers on Jenny's. Whatever inspires, I run with. Thanks Eva! So people, if you have kids, or when you have kids, will you encourage them to wear heels? Boys and girls included. Obviously you will let them wear heels, yes, but will you foster the fashion trend? And at what age would you allow your children to dress themselves and choose their own shoes? I know if I ever find a man and I have daughters, I will encourage them to wear heels. My mother helped me develop my love of heels, and I would hope to do the same for them. If I have boys, well, they can wear what they like. For either gender of children, the rule will be simple. You can wear whatever you like, provided it does not get you into trouble. If it does, save it for home. Sure a parent will need to take an active roll in a child's life and make sure things go okay, but I think well adjusted children are those treated like human beings and allowed to explore their individuality. That way, they don't have as many reasons to act rebellious because being a rebel is cool. And yes that is just my theory, I could be wrong, so don't attack that position. What say the rest of you?

Why Chip! I am flattered. Married? No. Seeing anyone? No. Near Chicago? No. Sorry!
