  1. Reading all of these comments, I realize that most of the newer members aren't aware that we already have our "own" place to buy heels. Peachie's Shoes. Perhaps one of the other members can elaborate on the Mel, Peachie's store and website? (Haven't heard a word from her in quite a while.)

  2. Viewing that video reminds me of the old joke about the astronaut that landed on a planet outside our system and found it to be populated with gorgeous giant women. When he was approached by one of these gigantic goddesses, he was overheard by a member of his crew as saying: "Take me to your ladder, I'll see your leader later."

  3. I ordered a pair of black patent 5" heels, slingbacks from Ellie....and was disappointed. I wear a size 10½. I ordered a size 10 thinking that I could lengthen the strap to accommodate size difference. Was very disappointed when they arrived. They fit more like a size 9 and the strap was barely long enough to let out to fit my feet. They're beautiful shoes, however, and I occasionally wear them even though they're a little uncomfortable. Should have ordered an 11 and took up the slack. Oh well, live and learn.

  4. Wonder if he would have talked with you if you had asked him why he was so "enthralled" with your style of dress? I actually believe that people who pay excessive attention to people (women and men) wearing high heels actually wish they were wearing the heels.

  5. Pumps, I like the red outfit the best. The detail work on the toes of the gray/black pair look a little to "busy" for my taste. Have you ever worn the red pair out and about in public? By the way, have you ever crossed paths with Trolldeg? It appears to me that you two might have something in common -- both having nice collections of heels.

  6. I guess the only alternative you have at this point is to just put your heels on and wear them without saying anything to anyone. After the people in your life get used to seeing you in heels, their only alternative will be to accept you wearing them or thinking that you're not quite in your right mind -- which, isn't all bad. Just wear them and everything will work out.

  7. (Ok, you guys. Be Aware! Your's is on it's way!)

    "Peaceful" Muslim Demonstration in London

Muslims have stated that England will be the first country they take over!

These are pictures not shown on American TV or in American Newspapers (as they ! might help Bush's war on terror), but were forwarded to me by a Canadian friend who thought Americans ought to know!
These pictures are of Muslims marching through the streets of London during their recent "Religion of Peace Demonstration."

    Why would anyone think
that we should be at war
    with such nice, peaceful Muslims!
    Americans need to Know -
You need to forward this one!
  8. Hm, I see...........

Don't know though. Like I said, she's one not to be taken lightly. She will personally find an excuse for everything, even if it means lying to herself, so I'm a try this, then I'll keep posted with results later

It's apparent that there isn't much you can do to explain your wearing "girls shoes" to your mother. I was in a similar situation. The way I handled it was to just put my heels on and wear them normally and let my mother criticize me until she reached a point where she finally accepted that I was going to wear them regardless of what she thought of it.

While I she never did (still doesn't) fully approve.....she did get to a point where she would talk about shoes with me.

I believe it helped a lot to wear styles that weren't so obviously feminine...

like penny loafer styles with 2½" or 3" block or wedge style heels when out in public (I still do)...black or brown..and leave the stiletto heels and strappy sandals for wearing around the house.
