  1. Little while since I posted anything.  I do lots of small outings but nothing postworthy.  Today I decided to go and get some free wifi time at one of the local internet cafes.  With colder temps and Winter fast approaching, I decide a nice fall outfit was the order of the day.  I love fall becuase it is also boot season!  I love my shoes as well.  But I find it much easier to put together boot outfits.  And I feel much more comfortable in them!  Plus, boots seem to be the norm around here in fall amongst the women.  So not only do I fit in, but I get lots of visual inspiration and ideas for my outfits as well!  So here it is!

    outfit

    1. black "diba" knee boots with 4 1/2" heel
    2. black leggings
    3. white and black striped shirt
    4. grey overlapping button down jacket

  2. Here is my latest purchase.  They are from Aldo.  The model is paules and the heel measures 4 inches.  It must be the design of the shoes.  4 inches is normal for me, but wearing these, the heel seems quite high.  The shoes themselves are a take on the Stuart Weitzman "nudist" sandal which costs hundreds of dollars.  The nudist continues to rule the red carpet and is a celebrity staple.

I had been wanting these for a while and they finally went on sale.  Usually once they are on sale they don't have my size though.  To my suprise they did!  I tried them on and they looked as good as they fit!  It was funny.  As I was tring them on the sales girl said they were too high for her.  She would not be able to wear them all night.  I just kinda laughed on the inside.  I happily paid for them.  The best part of me buying them was the price.  They were originally $80 but on sale for 50% off.  Plus they were an additional 25% off.  So I paid less than $40 for these.  Sweet!

  3. I realized its been awhile since I reported anything.  I've been out but nothing major.  Tonight was the same but I'm posting anyhow.

I threw together my outfit fairly quickly and it actually turned out quite good!  Once ready, I grabbed my laptop, and proceeded to drive to one of the local coffee/internet places.  I proceeded to spend the next hour or two taking advantage of the free wifi surfing the web.  Actually it cost me a $4 hot chocolate, but who's counting!  No one gave me so much as the time of day.  I spent the whole time very comfortable and confident in what I was wearing.  Once I was all surfed out I packed up my stuff and headed home.  As I said, short but sweet.  But none less enjoyable than any of my other outings.

    My outfit

    1) black and white stripped shirt

    2) black jacket

    3) black leggings

    4) greyish slouchy boots

  4. Nice doubleheader Jeff!  I have a hard time geting out once, let alone twice in a day.  I like the pink outfit you wore!  As much as anything we wear though, I think wearing pink takes "guts"!  Especially in such a neon version of the color like you wore.  But again, well done!

  5. Looking good Jeff!  With those legs its a wonder why you would ever want to cover them up.  And that red top actually looks orange to me.  Maybe its my computer or the lighting or something.  Good job regardless!

  6. Picked these up today in a thrift store.  They are a low cut ankle shoe/boot  The brand is Forever21.  The heel measures 4 inches.  The tops of the shoes are in good shape.  The bottoms of the shoes leave something to be desired though.  They are quite used.  But I figured no one will see them anyhow.  Plus I paid less than $15!  They definitely have $15 worth of life left in them.

As soon as I saw them they had a "schoolgirl" feel to me.  I immediately thought of Taylor Swift.  I have seen her wear similar shoes out and about in pictures many times.  There was no size marking on them.  The store had them marked as an 8-8 1/2.  But they fit me and I am usually a 9 1/2-10.  They were just a touch small on me so they were probably around a size 9.  I love them and can't wait to wear them out and about.  Have to play around with some outfits for them first.

  7. I may have just purchase my new favorite pair of shoes!  I was shopping one of my favorite thrift stores here that I frequent.  I was there Sunday actually, when I first spotted these.  I fell in love instantly!  And they were in mint condition!  They were used once if at all!  I was rather disappointed when I tried them on.  I am normally a 9 1/2 to 10.  But depending on the shoe I can go as low as an 8 1/2 to a 9.  These were marked 9.  I tried them on and they were not even close to fitting.  I don't know if my feet were swollen that day or what, but I should have been able to get them on and at least have them be tight.  So no go.  I left extremely disappointed.

Fast forward to today, and there I was  shopping again.  To my suprise the shoes were still there.  I had to try again.  This time they fit like a dream!  I didn't hesitate a second to buy them!  The were marked at $19.99 but I had a 30% off coupon.  I got these for less than $20!

The brand of the shoes is shoedazzle.  They have lace detailing, and a solid black toe box.  They also have an all black pencil thin 4 1/2" heel.

The following pic does not do these shoes any justice.

  8. Hmm! Green shoes! How interesting! Nice style! Well, to offer my two cents worth, perhaps a green, short sleeved top in a lighter shade than the shoes and slim, cream colored pants.

Sound like it could work.  I'll have to keep that in mind.  Thanks!

  9. Here is my latest purchase.  I picked these up from The Shoe Company for those that live in Canada.  The Brand is Nine West and the model is "Goodlookin"  That model comes in various colors but these ones are sea green.  They were the only color they had.  Online they will tell you the heel height is 4.5 inches.  But they actually measure at 4 3/4 inches.  And even though I would call myself a seasoned heel wearer, I can definitely notice the almost 5 inches when I put them on.  And there is no platform either.  So they are definitely high!

When I tried them on in store  I fell in love instantly!  Then I checked the price.  They were marked $80 on the box but they had a 70% off sticker as well.  So I managed to snag these babies for just over $25!  Now my only problem will be trying to find an outfit for them.  I have never worked with green shoes before.  I welcome suggestion from everyone.  Here are a couple of pics as well.

  10. I just realized that it has been months since my last significant outing.  I have been heeling since, but nothing noteworthy.  So with a day off and warmer temperatures I decided to change that.  As I went through my clothes I noticed a pair of mint green skinny jeans I recently purchased.  I knew my outfit would be based aroun them.  I searched online and through my clothes for something to pair them with.  I finally decided on an outfit, and off I went!  Maybe it was the color of the jeans, or the outfit as a hole, but I definitely felt like I was pushing the envelope a little more than usual.  And I felt some nerves like I did in the early days of my heeling.

The first part of my day was spent running some errands that needed to be done.  Once that was done I spent the rest of my outing window shopping. Every stop I made I defintely took a little longer to get out of the car and walk in to places than I have on past outings.  But as the day wore on it went away.  And I ended up having one of my more favorite outings in a while.

I stopped in at the local mall.  I had to make a stop at Aldo.  I usually go there on an outing.  The sales girl greeted me with a hello.  I noticed she had on a pair of heels.  They were a fairly low heel, and not my personal cup of tea, but they were heels none the less.  It was nice to see.  You don't see that much around here.  While I browsed the sales girl went back the the other customer that was in the store.  A younger blonde women and her young daughter where there.  I came to find out that the mother was trying on shoes for an upcoming wedding.  She was not bad to look at If I do say so.  She was either going to or coming from the gym.  She had on some short spandex shorts and her legs were tanned.  Combine that with the heels she was tring on, wow!  I also noticed she was trying on the exact heels that I had my eye on for some time.  They are still a tad pricey for me though.  I am hoping they go on sale at some point and they still have my size left when they do.  And if I do eventually buy them I can only hope that I look half as good as that young mother did wearing them.  I wanted to compliment her and tell her that those shoes look great on her but I never got the chance.  I left empty handed but I wasn't disappointed at all.

My next stop was a local thrift store that i usually frequent on an outing  I tred on several things while I was there but nothing fit or looked good so I purchased nothing.  While I was there I had an interesting interaction.  I was browsing a shoe rack and a younger women was doing the same not far away from me.  Again she was a "looker" for sure.  After a few minutes she passes by me and says "those are cute shoes you are wearing".  I smiled and thanked her.  I don't weat these shoes as much as some of my others.  But I seem to get complimented in them almost every time I do.  I may have to start wearing them more often.  I figured that was a good time to exit the store.  I was planning on ending my outing around then.  But I was on a such a high I decided to extend my outing a little.

It was just after lunch and I was getting hungry so I went to the nearby Wendy's.  The place was fairly packed around this time.  It usually is.  I ordered the strawberry fields chicken salad.  It is delicious, and back for a limited time.  I suggest you try it!  I ate and left satisfied.  After visiting one more store i decided to call it a day.

It as definitely one of my more enjoyable outing in a while, and the visuals and compliments i received were an added bonus.  Now on to the outfit and pics.

    The outfit
    1) beige tshirt
    2) mint green skinny jeans(Mossimo Supply Co)
    3) brown wedge sandals(Aldo)
    4) light brown small cross body bag

Here is a pic of the outfit as well as the shoes.  Comments and suggestions welcome.  I am also including a link to the Aldo shoes I have my eye on that the women was trying on in store.

  11. I'm fortunate to live in a big city where the likelihood of running into someone I know is extremely small. As for casino outings, one day, I'll have to try my luck in Las Vegas. That would be fun! Heh!

I would love to try Vegas!  I think it is the mecca for people like us.  It would be easy to do outings there.  Not only that.  I think I would have the ability to push the envelope a lot further than I do now.  The main thing that holds me back is running into people I know.  Otherwise, I would wear anything and everything!

  12. Anyhoo, my outing took me to Parx Casino

Nice read again Jeff.  I have yet to do a casino outing as you did.  I think I may have to try that at some point.  In my town though, being that it is smaller, I would definitely run into someone I know if I did a casino outing.  You can't go to the casino here without running into someone you know.

  13. Here is my deal of the day.  I picked these up today at Winners for those that live in Canada.  The brand is Ivanka Trump.  The model is Kaylynns.  The material is a suede design with a metallic alligator like toe.  These ones are red but they have other colors.  The heel itself is 4.5 inches with no platform.  The shoes fit very well if not on the larger side.  Some people mght be able to go down half a size compared to what they normally wear.  And now for the price!

The tag said comapre at close to $200.  Seemed right for a shoe with Ivakas name on it.  Winners was selling them for just under $100.  But now they were on clearance.  I picked these up for $20!  When I got home I did some online research to find the real deal on these shoes.  They indeed retail for close to $200.  and the cheapest online I found was around $100.  Not bad for the $20 I paid.  Can't wait to try them out and about.
