  1. Dear community,

we are searching for a classic knee boot, black leather, high heel, long toe, no applications. We already checked Ebay and the manufacturers' websites.

Can anyone provide a hint or a website ? Maybe a thread here ? I do not know, it seems there does not exist a search function on this website.

Some time ago I found some good pictures on the web, but it seems they had been deleted.

    I only can provide this:

    Thanks a lot.

  2. I love white shoes. I don't particularly have white shoes but my wife does and I love how they look on her. I have been looking for fashionable white boots but unfortunately most of the manufacturers stay clear of them.

Look on any of the EBay sites (US, UK, Germany, France etc etc) - you'll find White boots on all of them.

  3. Pussyinboots, although i try to think i am not pressuring her, I guess I am. I am really interested in your thoughts on why a woman is a heels girl or not. It seems that you are saying that if she is not, she never will be and I can't help her in finding the confidence in wearing heel. Is this right?

Sadly...I'm afraid that's right. The thing about shoes for a woman is that they are a big statement about her...her tastes and her personality. If your wife has chosen to wear flats and very low heels as regular footwear - reserving high heels for 'Sundays and Fundays' - then she is NOT a 'heels girl' and is probably uncomfortable with high heels, both physically and mentally. High heels demand a whole different style of wardrobe as well - one which is probably just not 'her'.

If she was the type who choses stiletto heels just to go to the newsagents...and wouldn't be seen dead without them on...then she would be a 'heels girl'.

I would say that your wife is not a heels girl - BUT - you didn't marry her for her high heels did you? Just enjoy them as treats when she does wear them.

  4. There are some very simple reasons why she won't wear heels. a) She doesn't feel confident enough :) As a Mum she doesn't feel comfortable enough c) She doesn't like them. d) You are pushing her too hard and she resents it.

The trick about heels....is that you are either a 'heels girl' or you're not. If your wife has hardly ever worn heels....and she hardly wore them when you were courting - why are you pressuring her now??

She may get to wearing them....but on her terms, not yours.

  5. You know it always amazes me how people see a photo in forums like this and automatically think that the poster is the one in the photograph.

In the real world it takes at least two to make a decent photograph, a photographer and a subject. Guess which one I am ?

The second photograph is very clever....giving the impression of a mirror - but not a true reflection. I've spotted the Black 'Illicit' from Hollywood Heels....but who made the Ballet Booties??

  6. I wanna buy these in a 7, Im usually like a 6.5-7 in shoes...do u think they will fit

    http://www.shoecrush.com/Charles_Jourdan_Chaya_p/c1034.htm

I dont like when there is space in my shoes when im wearing wedges or mules/slide ons, i would rather have it more snug, then loose.

do you think i ordered a correct size?

    They are absolutely gorgeous heels!

I have some gold 'Charles Jourdan' wedges - and they are slightly on the 'tight' side, but I have broad feet.

However, I measured them, and they are an EXACT measurement for the stated size.

  7. The Bebe heels that I have fit fairly close to their advertized size. All of them were closed toe pumps and some were Mary Jane styles. Those with rounded toes had more width room in the toebox and the pointed ones seem to have been adjusted to accomodate for the toe shaping. Hope this helps!

Agreed. 'Bebe' heels usually run accurately to size - maybe even slightly on the large side. They are gorgeous shoes though.

  8. Hello,

I'm sorry I cannot post a message to the Leatherworks thread now because I have restricted permissions!

I have a question about sizing of Leatherworks heels. I am used to Pleaser shoes (size US8) and I've been told that Leatherworks is sizing smaller so I should rather buy US9 size... anyone having the experience for comparison?

    Thank you!

Yes - 'Leatherworks' shoes run SMALL.

    If your usual size is a US 8 (UK 5.5 - EUR 3 8 ) - then order a US 9 (UK 6/6.5 - EUR 39).

  9. I was hanging around doing the usual daily things & just saw an interview on the Fox Business channel about clothes & how electronics are going to be the new "must have" accessories, especially for teens.

The discussion turned to the different stores that are doing well now and some of the products they're offerering. The woman being interviewed started talking about "jeggings". I never heard of "jeggings" before so I looked them up online. Basically "jeggings" are a cross between jeans & spandex leggings. I think that they're really spandex leggings that look like jeans. What they really do is take skinny jeans one step further and are very form-fitting to the wearer. They look great to me & seem like they would be fun to wear when going out. But to my dismay, I found out - like everything else - that these are FOR WOMEN ONLY... :)

    http://www.couturesnob.com/images2009/jeggings.jpg

WTF??!!! I gotta be honest & say that I'm really bored as hell with the lack of variety in mens' clothing. There's only so many ways you can do a basic shirt, pants & flat shoes. Meanwhile, the girls have 100 bazillion things that they can wear. There's lots of things that used to be mens' clothing many years ago that have recently been hijacked by the girls & been turned into women-only clothing (we all know the historic background of high heels - anyone remember that men wore tights/leggings/etc a few hundred years ago?)

All I'm saying is that something like these new "jeggings" could be something new for the guys as well. Same goes for high heels - why are they only for women? Surely someone could make heels for guys without them looking too girly. For instance, the girls now have these high heel oxford dress shoes. These are basically guys' dress shoes with a heel - WHY ARE THEY NOT MADE FOR GUYS??!!

I know that a lot of guys (especially on this forum) are always talking about wearing various clothes & shoes that are typically for women - I'm not saying that I want to wear a skirt, but it would be nice if the fashion industry could adopt some other things (like jeggings) for guys so that we don't have to become a cross-dresser or raid the womens' clothing section in stores to wear them.

Yes - I know that everything looks better on women. But please, can't us guys have something new for a change?

I'm afraid that these 'jeggings' are just another example of the insidious 'stereotyping' and 'gender conditioning' that goes on in society these days....quietly and subtly infiltrating our everyday activities without us noticing.

Sad to say - it doesn't just happen this way around with clothes. We girls have our own problems when it comes to buying things like cars and computers..........attitudes these days are waay more sexist than they were 30 years ago.

I hate it.....and I sympathise with you totally. When I was a young girl - men could wear jeans like these, flamboyant shirts/tops/coats and hairstyles...and yes...high heels....on the street - and no-one would have batted an eyelid.

Not so, in the so-called 'enlightened' 21st Century. The terms 'open-minded' and 'freedom of choice', seem to have been deleted from most people's vocabulary.

  10. Hi pj22,happens all the time to us women too. I dont know how many shoe Ive sent back. The best thing I have found is to find a brand that fits you and stick with that brand for other styles because theyll usally fit pretty much the same. I lile to buy online from Zappos because there is alot of reviews of the shoes and how they fit.Hope that helps ......... Barbara

Unfortunately, Zappos only Ship to the US and some of it's Territories.

I find the same problems. I have many stories to tell of Ebay Sellers claiming to know their shoe sizes - and then sending shoes that are either a) way too small or :) too big....and even c) clearly marked as a different size on the soles! Most 'amateur' shoe sellers haven't got a clue.

My suggestion is to EMail the Company or Seller and ask them for the measurements of the Length and Width (at the ball of foot) of the shoe. That way you can find out if they will fit you or not.

Also, as Dr. Shoe says, European Sizes are usually more accurate.

  11. Most shoes that have 'Made in Spain' and 'Made in Brazil' on the soles should accommodate a wider foot. Take a look in River Island as well as New Look and Top-Shop.

You might have some luck in Hennes/Republic as well. Aldo shoes are usually good for wide feet, as are Moda-in-Pelle, Schuh and Blu-Shoes.
