  2. Here are my latest. I got these on a local buy and sell for $15. The owner said they were only worn once, and their appearance would indicate so. The brand is Le Chateau, and the heel is 4 inches. 4 inch heels are very easy for me to navigate. The heel is definitely wider and chunkier than they looked like in the photo. Not as crazy about that, but not a deal breaker either. But that, combined with the heel height, makes them that much more comfortable and easier to walk in. And they are perfect for spring and summer. I can see these being the base of many an outfit for me upcoming.
  3. Today
  4. I agree with Bubba, the red polish to your toes would add a great touch. That's my favorite color for my toes. Happy Heeling, bluejay
  5. Slightly feminine looking. Neutral color. Nicely proportioned. A light red toenail polish would add an interesting accent. As they say in the South: “Good on ya!” Wear them with confidence.
  6. Today's feature has a bit of a strange story. I bought these BCBGirls mules (model name unknown) to replace some Jessica Simpson mules which had catastrophically failed. I wore the JS mules just about everywhere that summer of 2017, including on a road trip throughout the Midwest and into the Deep South. I was very sad when they broke, and I could not find a suitable replacement pair. What I did find is this BCBG pair, and I was very high on that brand at the time. I still like it, and the shoes tend to fit me well, but as it turns out the shoes are not as bulletproof as I made them out to be at the time. As this point, you're probably asking yourself, "Where is this rather long-winded setup going?" It is going nowhere. That's it. That's the end of the story. I got my BCBG mules in the mail, looked at them, tried them on, and put them away. For nearly seven years. I'm not sure why. I decided to pull them out last Saturday and wear them to go grocery shopping, just to see if there was some reason why I'd never worn them. There wasn't. I then wore them to church the next day. The question is, why did I never wear these even one time in seven years? I'm not 100% sure. It may be that they are slightly dressier than the shoes they were intended to replace, and they are mainly ivory instead of tan, which may have made a difference to me back then. It may be because they are snakeskin print, which I still don't like as well as smooth leather. I will never really know, but I am now presenting these as New Sandals. The numbers: 4 5/8" heel, 7/16" wide, putting it toward the bigger end of the stiletto range, and a 3/4" platform, for an effective heel height of 3 7/8", which is well within my heel wearing capabilities. The heel and platform are molded as one unit, and I fully expect that to break one of these days. I noticed a little bit of a hot spot forming behind my right big toenail, but that spot has been somewhat of a problem for me since I was in my early 20s. I think it's me, and not the shoe. Typically I can put a Bandaid around that toe so that it doesn't really show, and I'm good to go. In fact, I now have a list that reminds me what comfort or fitting aids I need to wear with which shoes. It's come to that, I guess.

  8. Those blue ones are really nice! And my favorite color too!
  9. Overall closed toed T-Straps are my favorite style.
  10. This week's church outfit continues on the same theme of button down shirt with a tie, but with different colors. Specifically this time, the whole outfit was based around the shoes, which I wanted to try out because although I bought them at least five years ago, I've never worn them until now. I'm not entirely sure why that is, there appears to be no fault with them. I'll have to post them in the New Sandals thread when I get a chance. They're BCBGirls, by the way. When I thought about what to wear with these shoes, I could have sworn I had some cream colored pants at one time. Evidently not, or I got rid of them at some point. So I just held a sandal against each of my pants, to see which was the most suitable with the color. The pale pink ones got the nod. I decided to go with a darker, contrasting color for the shirt and tie. No comments, but that's pretty usual.
  11. Same here but with your outfits, CAT, I am sure you are depriving the other members of great style tips! I can only do so much by myself!😍
  12. I run in to that problem all the time sometimes I say forget it not worth the hassle
  13. Last week
  14. you have any t straps if i can ask love to get a pair of mules and sling blacks
  15. As a man who (almost) always has his nails colored and in heels, it depends on the situation. I do compliment women on their heels, but it usually just "nice heels." If she responds about mine, we might have a short conversation. With members of the unofficial ‘high heel club’, we usually only flash our heels at each other. I damaged my fingernails, as a result I need acrylic nails with a gel cover. For the last 8 years, I have used gel with color. The material scientist in me is fascinated by all the different applications. Since I have a professional job with colored fingernails, it is imperative that they are exquisite. I get compliments all the time from men and women. I usually just say "thank you" and move on, but when a cashier comments on my nails, that usually leads to a longer conversation. It’s also interesting how many men have told me they wished they could color their nails.
  16. mainly have 2-5 inch heels myself here, wished i had a few that was a little higher
  17. OK, well I can relate this to situations where I was the one getting the compliments on my boots. And, am afraid to admit, I was like a deer in the headlights, and ended up giving the same short/cold responses you encountered. Now that I have gained a little more confidence and courage, I love conversing with others when they compliment me. I oftentimes get the short responses you describe when I compliment a guy/gal in boots, but now understand why..
  18. Sadly, I am learning this the hard way. Whenever someone compliments me on my heels, outfit, or color of my nails, I always stop and cheerfully acknowledge it because I truly do appreciate it. I do not mind briefly speaking to that person as it has led to many positive encounters, which, not to get up on my soapbox, I hope makes for a better world. Sometimes my compliments to another have been met with enthusiasm but other times with only a simple thank you and nothing more. Due to this and a few other recent developments in my life, I have come to the conclusion that trying to nice, polite, and helpful are vices rather than virtues. I know this is a horribly cynical disposition but it is the reality of today's society. Why this is, however, is for another forum.
  19. Just to let you guys know that my heeled boots are not 5" stiletto but more in the 3-4" chunky heel category. I parted with stiletto heels several years ago., Chunky heels are my favorite heels these days! Happy Heeling, bluejay
  20. I have a pair of shoes just like the gal you saw out in your shopping trip. Only mine are pink in color with a 5" heel and 2" platform. They are definitely a summertime sandal to wear and I'm comfortable wearing them out with capri leggings, bike shorts or a short skirt. Happy Heeling, bluejay
  21. Nice looking heels, Gige. I have similar pairs that almost match your heels. I wear them out and do get compliments on them. Happy Heeling, bluejay
  22. Over the years that I have been wearing my girls shoes in public, almost all of these infrequent inquiries have been made by women. My wife used to handle them without any comment from me. As for seeing other men wearing girls shoes, I can count on one hand the number of times that I have seen another man wearing female footwear. Then, mostly flat sandals here at the beach.
  23. Situations have a way of working out with time. 🙂
  24. I own a couple of pairs of penny loafers, similar to yours with 4” heels. One pair of black leather and the other in brown leather. They are a mainstay of my wearing my “girl shoes” in public. I don’t have any animal print shoes or boots at the moment.
  25. Why not reduce them to an acceptable size, post them and include a comprehensive description. We are glad to have you back and are looking forward to viewing anything you have to offer.
  26. I have a few pairs that are kind of restricted to home/hotel room. But, this is mainly because I can not walk confidently in them....
  27. OK, well at least she admitted it....
