  1. Past hour
  2. Would love to get a pair of tall riding boots. Would also like some Hunter "refined boots".
  3. Today
  4. Perhaps it is you that is living in the odd spot. I certainly see heels where I am, in the north of England. They are not ubiquitous, but it’s not like seeing a UFO either. If I take the train into Leeds or York I will certainly see stilettos.
  5. I remember you saying that before, but I NEVER saw any of that. All I ever see is an ocean of flats. You might live in a tiny island of abnormality, where the women still wear high heels, because for the rest of us it's like seeing a UFO.
  6. When I tried sending people Christmas greetings last year, if I made a new message and tried to send it I got a message saying so-and-so could not receive messages. I had to use an old message, if I had one, and respond to it. Very weird
  7. I hope your recovery picks up! That would be no fun. Do you have any low/flat heeled boots you can wear in the interim. Because of my off-grid living I have several pair of low heeled knee boots so I can wear tall boots every day- a lot of the time heels would be I’ll-advised or downright dangerous.
  8. Twelve is a good number. They all get used and become comfortably familiar
  9. Please explain what a 1% foot is. I just had knee surgery, a little discouraged with the outcome so far. Have quickly figured out that the doc's two week recovery claim was "optimistic". Really want to wear some boots during recovery, but surely don't want to wear anything that will hinder the repair/recovery time....
  10. I'm thinking I could downsize my collection to around 12 pairs also. Looking forward to downsizing my life for sure....
  11. That is what I thought, how it has always worked for me on this site. Nonetheless, I checked my mailbox anyway, but did not find any unread messages...
  12. Other factors that should to be considered are what kind of work, where you work and when. If you are working in an office environment your exposure will be limited to those working around you. Your dress, while in good taste, will be less formal than if you were working in a retail environment where interaction with the customer is a direct reflection upon the quality of your product or service, appearance is important. If your working hours are at night, or after normal business hours, dress is probably less important. A simple shop uniform or even more casual clothing probably would be acceptable.
  13. My account doesn’t show any red number or it could be because I don’t have any unread messages.. Besides, the mail box was full and couldn’t receive any more.
  14. I think there is a height beyond which you shouldn’t go for work wear. I would say 3.5” to 4” would be tops. Five inches for evening wear. i think there is a reason the likes of Louboutin do not make heels higher than 5”. As for me I too prefer classic styles and clean lines. Heels high enough to matter but without overwhelming the rest of the boot and making it all about the heel. The heel is important sure, but it is a part of an overall look and style, im of the belief that less is often more
  15. I’ve about a dozen pairs of boots and in my sharply downsized life that is more than sufficient
  16. That’s a very impressive walk! I did a similar distance on Sunday - to a pub for lunch and then back again - but I was in boots with chunky 3.5” heels. That was enough
  17. Excellent heels. Pumps are great year around.
  18. I know that. I was pointing out it's difficult not to know you have pm's
  19. I did something that I rarely do during warm weather. I wore actual enclosed shoes to church. I did so because as I posted in the New Shoes section, I bought some pumps specifically to wear to church (and maybe a few other places). I keep saying that I do not need any more shoes, but I bought two more pair last week. These Steve Madden pumps, and a pair of Frye wooden heeled sandals. Sometime I'll post the Fryes--they're kind of interesting, but I thought the coffee color of the pumps was really beautiful, and the lady offered to sell them for 20 bucks plus shipping. The rest of my outfit was based around the shoes. I often do that, but it was very particular on this Sunday, because I had decided to wear the shoes well in advance. So I picked out some earth-toney stuff I thought went with the coffee color, and then I realized, "Hey, wait a minute. . . It's Pentecost." To some of you, this will mean absolutely nothing. For others, you are chuckling to yourselves right now. Let's put it this way--the red tie is an add-on and an afterthought, but I think it works. I even got complemented on my tie. But not my shoes.
  20. Trump talks pro crypto at a rally. Democrats (Warren and Gensler who is the SEC anti crypto chair) suddenly realize crypto is a voting issue. SEC requests for accelerated amendments to ETH ETF applicants signaling Ethereum ETF approval imminent. ETH ETF gets approved Crypto markets rocket to the moon. Welcome back to the fabled alt coin bull run, where everything skyrockets. Irrational upside.
  21. Cali

    Mail Box

That's the number of unread email messages.
  22. I must be the unicorn here because I see several women a week in high (3.5+inch) heels. And mostly stilettos. My foot doctors have advised me to wear at least a 2 inch heel, but I have a 1% foot. (1% or few of the population has feet like mine.)
  23. I have lots of luck there I have plenty of luck there. A good portion of my collection comes from thrift stores. But you are right, it is a committment. You have to make the rounds regularly to have success. I have a few that I frequent locally. At least once a week.
  24. Crazy, but my account puts a big red number right next to the mail icon.
  25. Yesterday
  26. They’ll be back. All part of this endless cycle of fashion and trends
