What has happened to HHplace? it's gone from a place where everything (heel related) was talked about and some not - to a place where "does these boots/strappy sandals/ [insert favourite style of footwear] look in public - that is why I don't post here often anymore... Not to mention, where are the [REAL] women? later, TXT-1

If you want interesting posts, post them yourself. :D When you start to get so many members you are bound to start getting certain posts that all seem the same. Those "what do you think of these" posts bore me to tears too so come on guys (and girls) let's start to have some readable posts!

Well, my wife (a real woman) has a problem with shoes, it was great to get a few posts of support, but not many, in fact as a couple who have great interest in shoes I was quite taken back by the lack of interest in the topic posted here.

If we are to support each other, lets not go for the easy reply, you know, "yeh, Cool shoes", lets try to look at the more interesting side of heels and why we all joined this forum.

My wife has been struggling with one thing and another for the last year or 18 months. We went to the doctor to see what he thought, he suggested we get an allergy test done.

Well........ we are half way through the test and we have found a couple of reactions. If you dont know how a test is done then let me explain, there are about 50 different patches stuck on the back and left for a few days.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v283/heels2die4/dscf1186.jpg

Okay,

After 2 days.

To the top, just under the number 20 you can see a red patch, where she has reacted to something, there are a few other but lets not worry about them.

On seeing this the Doctor asked if she had any problems with her feet! Why yes, sometimes she replied, ahhh, said the doctor, this is a reaction to a glue that is found in shoes!

nigel

And Yes, I have looked at the other forums and not seen anything worth replying to other than, "nice shoes".

somebody once said to me that "the grass looks better on the other side, but it needs more mowing".

lets look after this site and our members and make the most of it.

best wishes to you all.

Oh, PM to TXT-1, My wife managed to find a copy of Number of the beast on ebay and got it for me for Xmas, fantastic. have not heard it since it was nicked off of me 10 years ago, what a woman :D

that's right I remember that your wife is Allergic to the glue used in shoes... good news Nigel! I hope you enjoy it... I certainly have... if anyone stole any of my CD's especially 'Maiden I'd have to hurt them!.... btw the "Enhanced" version of NOTB has an extra track "Total Eclipse" - it kicks arse! - it's my favourite song on the entire album!... 'Maiden had a choice: "Gangland" or "Total Eclipse" unfortunately they chose "Gangland" but in 1998 NOTB finally got "Total Eclipse"! later, TXT-1

Hi Nigel, I am sure that you have said in previous posts that that is your wife as your avatar. I can see she has a problem with shoes, 6" heels and wears them too bloody well ! But seriously , a strange allergy it would seem i hope you and find a solution to this problem in the new year it cannot have been nice for your wife and indeed yourself to have to endure 18 months of tests. I wish you well sevenup.

There is only so much that can be said before it gets repetative to regular readers. Newsworthy titbits only come once in a while. How about a new section FANTASY that, whilst not pornographic, could carry stories to fill in interest on quiet times, not necessarily about heels. With a couple of thousand readers, i'm sure we could have something for browsers to read and add to whilst waiting for the all important news and photographs to be posted.

Good idea! I might serialise my novel....

Hi Sevenup,

Aparently it is not all that strange, hence testing for it.

for us it is a case of knowing about it, we can and have managed the situation quite well since the tests, so it has been good for us.

and yes, that is a more flattering picture of my wife next to all my posts, not only can she wear them, but watching her walk in them is wonderful.

Don't worry, I will only do titbits. Maybe extract a few self containedshort stories from the novel.

Sadly, most of the real women left after repeated requests for us guys to stop monopolising their section fell on deaf ears. Not to mention the recent departure of Ellen-Jay thanks to one member who shall remain nameless! BTW Nigel, how is Edelgard's allergy testing going? Chris

I think another reason men are more active here is because women have no issues in regards to publically wearing their shoes. Us men need our support network and thus we post on here our pictures and new shoe finds and public outings. Finding this site has really opened my eyes. Postings down lately - definitely. Site monotonous - nope.

Chris

thanks for asking,

Actually, It all happened within a couple of weeks, so the testing has stopped.

now we hare having "fun" testing the results for ourselves.

For example one of the positive reslults was for a chemical found in newspapers, so She reads them with gloves on, or sees who long it takes for her to start to bubble up!

So we are trying one thing at a time and working around the issues. I am glad to say though that It has not stopped her wearing heels, infact, some of the more exotic shoes and boots she has are leather lined and stitched therefore seeming to be better for her :D

trouble is, they are not the cheap ones and we are not in the best of positions to go out spending £100+ on a pair of shoes or boots.

Still, I will have to work harder and treat me, sorry her. It is a win win situation when you both love heels!

Nigel.

It's good that it sounds like you have a good idea what's likely to cause a reaction. I hope you can work around it with the minimum of inconvenience to you both. In Victorian times, gentlemen used to read the newspaper at a table, and use a flat paddle-like thing to turn the pages to avoid getting their fingers dirty. A plastic ruler would work just as well, maybe an alternative to her having to wear gloves? I know what you mean about expensive shoes though! Chris

with threads like these, how can anyone find the forum boring? to nigel, funny you should mention paper as a work colleague suddenly developed painful rashes up his arms, and that turned out to be thermal copy paper used in the fax machine.[this was 15 years ago, I shold add]anyway, glad it's sorted.PS. you on for cardiff(14th)?

Nigel:-) It is good to hear that both you and your wife are sorting out her allergy problems. Good luck to you both. With news like that, I don't know how anyone can say that this Forum is not progressing or boring. Cheers--- Dawn HH

I've got to agree with Dr Shoe there. If you want interesting threads you have to post them yourself, not necessarily rely on other people. We never had a huge number of women here anyway. I don't think most of them are that interested in discussing footwear. Wearing it and buying it maybe. But obsessing over minute details seems to be largely a male interest.

Do they fuss over the details of shoes and if so, how can you prove they are women? Bceause I have read some of these fashion forums and it becomes obvious many of the people talking about shoes are TVs, especially when the av shoe size seems to be US 10 or 11 when I'd expect it to be US 8 or 9 if it really was just women posting.

Yes. Although it's great to read threads of other people's adventures that give us support to fulfil our desires, we have to create our own "shoe" adventures and not rely on the others to fulfil our needs!

I read much more than I write, and I tend to agree. The forum is becoming monotonous. But I'm drawn back again and again. I really don't know what I can contribute. I wear heels occasionally and have posted expressing my euphoria having done so on several occasions and also about being hassled by mindless people. This is a wonderfully supportive forum which has encouraged many of us out of the house. I'm sure I've bored many of you with tales of my outings - so I'm sorry for that.

I probably post here as much as anybody and I can't say that the Forum is boring or monotonous. Of course, that's my opinion. I really enjoy reading of all of the different outings and the adventures encountered on them to no end. If people wouldn't post what is going on in their daily heelings, then the Forum certainly would be boring. This helps to boost and fortify others to get out and attempt to enjoy their own brand of streetheeling. Cheers--- Dawn HH

I tend to read the posts a lot more than I write -- as evidenced by my post count. I started out in "lurker mode" and for the most part I still operate that way. I find that a lot of the existing posts on this board discuss most topics in great depth and detail and I often feel I really don't have all that much to add. Personally, I see little reason to post "I agree" or "Right on!" or "Hear, Hear!" repeatedly, after all this is a forum for discussion, not an election. I am not in total agreement that this board has become monotonous, if it had I would not keep stopping by and reading posts. There are a lot of active new members too -- this board may not be "jumping" but I believe it still has a great deal of life.

Have a happy time!

For those of you how missed our previous post... It seems the 10 or so people that have rated us deserve some attention so its time to clear some things up. Anyone that hasn't received their order needs to Contact Us. We'll do whatever we can to get your stuff to ya pronto. We'll hook ya up, make ya happy, free videos, free memberships... but must importantly, your footwear or videos that you ordered. We don't want you to be disappointed. High Heels are our life... like we even had to say that right. Doubt Us…? Hardly, we've spent over $25,000 in refunds last year alone because we just couldn't supply fast enough. We went from having a massive selection of over 75 handmade pair of genuine leather stilettos to under 10 pairs because we didn’t want customers to wait so long. With the little shoe box closing… our main supplier, that decision was decisive. With 2 server crashes, 5 hard drive failures, 2 virus disasters, and being undercut by the snack attack from that clown Spikey Dan, its amazing we're still around. (This guy jealous or what?) Our work is a little more technical then a simple portrait shot with cool lighting. An amateur photographer shouldn’t be rating us anyway so stop making fun of our photography. As for the guy that’s was hacking into our site... Stop Hacking! You’re stealing from us & your fellow high heel fans. No we don’t buy from the company 6 Inch Heels Forever. We were going to use them back in 2002 but decided to choose someone else. Folks, if you wanna order then please order. We get what you want as fast as we can, we’ll try harder, or give you a refund. There is no secret here. Been around a long time… and we aint going anywhere…

DawnHH, With apologies to jmc, Hear, Hear! I've been here only a week or so and the prospect and real possibility of streetheeling is getting stronger by the day. So far that's been the greatest benefit of reading about others' experiences, gathering courage & confidence to step further out into public and how to go about it. Only been public twice (got seen, obviously) once.) This whole site is a valuable service for us newbies! UpBy5
