Danielinheels Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 The description says, amongst other things, "You won't find these boots easily." I wonder to whose benefit is that? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5364073884&indexURL=4#ebayphotohosting Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. - Oscar Wilde
nhoj62 Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 wot the heck r those things supppost to be exactly?, a sandal or a boot? either way i don't like them much later nhoj62 the higher the boot, the higher the heel, the better the feeling!
hoverfly Posted February 15, 2005 Posted February 15, 2005 no way I would buy those. Hello,  my name is Hoverfly. I’m a high heel addict…. Weeeeeeeeeee!  👠1998 to 2022!
TXT-1 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 while I like "exotic dancer" platforms, those things deserve to be burnt -or put in a shoe museum - to be laughed at! I just noticed: there have been NO bids for them yet no wonder, They look right out of a bad 1970's B movie later, TXT-1
highheellover Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 nice pair of boots. Girls and heels rock.
BobHH Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 They are called Gladiator shoes, usually sandals, and often better looking than these. Supposed to be fashioned after what Roman gladiators wore in the Colosseum (without heels, of course!). I personally don't think they are that attractive.
Ellen-Jay Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 They look homemade. Awful. Ellen-Jay --------------------------------------------------- The shoes aren't sensible, so why is the talk?
ShockQueen Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I agree with Ellen-Jay about the homemade part....they rather do look like straps of duct tape on the top. HOWEVER...... If the straps were better made, and perhaps the toe had a bit more of a point to it, then I'd probably snap them up and wear them with a nice outfit with a sci-fi fling to it. If you had a black skirt and a black & silver top, then they'd go well. Guess that's why I chose the nickname I did...and it sticks rather well too :-D SQ.....still busting societal molds with a smile...and a 50-ton sledge!
Dr. Shoe Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I think it's the fact that the square toe and chunky look is at odds with the upper parts. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
asdf174 Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 I've seen weirder believe it or not. It's all good. ~Arron.
Bubba136 Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 What asdf174 says is true. If anyone really wants to see shoes that are even weider, all they have to do is scroll backwards in this thread and see what we mean. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Dawn HH Posted February 17, 2005 Posted February 17, 2005 Mickey68 says, "UGLY THEN, UGLY NOW"!!! I say that they remind me of braces for a deformed or a broken leg. Certainly not my cup of tea. I wouldn't even be able to stand in them despite all of the strap bracing. No, no, no way, Jose!!! UGH-H-H! Cheers--- Mickey68 Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
jo Posted February 18, 2005 Posted February 18, 2005 There's an "ugly shoe" thread over at thefashiospot.com in the shoes, shoes, shoes forum. Worth a look too.
BobHH Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 A link from Elle on line: http://www.elle.com/article.asp?article_id=7983 I wish they would look at their pictures before they publish them and pick models with pretty feet. The heels are weird and some of the feet pretty ugly, in my opinion. Also, toes going off the side of the shoe onto the ground aren't too great. The picture with the strap marks is pretty careless, too.
Shafted Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I've seen worse, where all five toes are overhanging and touching the ground. (Bear Claw) Shafted, the boots that is! I guess when you have a size 8 (narrow) shoe and size 9 medium/wide foot, you just make do in the interest of getting the shot. or maybe not....
Driver8 Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 http://www.elle.com/article.asp?article_id=7983 I wish they would look at their pictures before they publish them and pick models with pretty feet. Dude. Check out the hairy leg on number 13!
sendra45 Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 I think the pictures are all a bit grim, they are hairy or with overhang or just plain unpleasant. who would be a model if thats what your feet end up looking like. nasty. edited for spelling The angels have the phonebox.
Danielinheels Posted February 4, 2006 Author Posted February 4, 2006 I just looked at all those pictures, EWWW!! totally unfresh. why was number 12's THIRD toe the longest one? why did #9's toes look like they were trying to run away from each other? and worst of all, why were so many of them cliffhanging in several shots?? was that done on purpose or something? ewwwwww....... Be yourself; everyone else is already taken. - Oscar Wilde
Dawn HH Posted February 5, 2006 Posted February 5, 2006 Seeing feet and legs like that---who would want to buy the shoes? Nasty! Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
