ilovetights Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Hello! I was introduced to this forum by a current member (thanks again!) and I wish I knew about it earlier! I am from Melbourne, Australia. I have a few pairs of heels but it's difficult to find beautiful shoes in my size - AUS size 12-13 (which is to the best of my knowledge US 12-13, UK 10-11, EUR 43-44). I am extremely lucky to have a great family who don't mind me wearing tights and heels but I am yet to venture out in public with heels on. I'm getting used to wearing 5 inch heels when I can, I'm certainly comfortable in 3 inches and pretty good at 4 so I thought I was ready. I hope to make some new friends and look forward to (further) exploring the forums. Regards, ilovetights (....you can call me tights ) Call me Tights!
UpBy5 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Hey Tights, Glad to have you on board! I know about that "not venturing out" thing. A kindred spirit here in Virginia, USA UPBy5

ilovetights Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 glad to see you made it onto the forum buddy! hope you enjoy the place as much as i do! I'm interested to know how your family came about knowing of your tights and high heels? Loving this forum... I really want to learn more about heels than I did before! My mum actually caught me in my room when I was first starting out. She tried to talk to me about it but I completely closed up. Years later, when I started buying my own tights (and eventually shoes) I thought I was doing a good job hiding everything but there were a few 'very close calls'. My mum told me my older sister and oldest brother suspected something was up (but didn't know what it was) and eventually we agreed that my mum would tell everyone. It's been at least 2 years now! I was super nervous the first time I was openly wearing tights in front of my family, but every day it got easier and now my family don't even think twice about it! I wear tights or leggings pretty much every day around the house and under my pants at work and when I'm out. I wear heels as much as possible but never when everyone is home. Call me Tights!

Regards, ilovetights (....you can call me tights ) Welcome to hhplace, tights This forum has a rather large following and membership from the Melbourne area. I'm sure you'll hear from most of them before long. Your introduction is really interesting. And, I'm glad to learn that you have not let negative advice or feelings deter you from continuing to wear what you want to wear. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Addicted2HHs Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Hi Tights. Shops don't keep big No's. Hit the internet. There are dozens of places that keep Up to USA No 17. By the way, I wear USA 15/16. The only drawback is the fact that the styles are slightly limited. Happy hunting.

By the way, I wear USA 15/16. The only drawback is the fact that the styles are slightly limited. Happy hunting. Cheers mate! I would love to be able to wear the shoes I find in "normal" shoe shops and I wish those styles were available in larger sizes. The shoes in some of the internet shops I've seen are never (or rarely) the same styles as what I see when I (actually) walk into a shop. I do keep an eye on a few websites that specialise in larger women's shoes. Barefoottess is the best I've found with shoes that would fit me. There are a few Aussie ones I know of as well. What limits me the most is money! Call me Tights!
jazzymj Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Welcome tights! My other sartorial fascinations are tights, leggings and unitards/catsuits. Those came first and the exhilaration of wearing them in public gave me the courage to start wearing heels in public. I hope you get to enjoy the same thrills. -MJ

ilovetights Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 I appreciate all the replies ^__^ How do you give thanks to someone's post?? I have a feeling that it is the little picture of a set of scales that is tagged with 'enhance username's reputation' ...but I'm not certain hence the question. Call me Tights!

Reputation isnt the "Say thanks" button. You should see a "Say thanks" button to the bottom right of each post except your own. I swear it wasn't there a second ago! ...well that only leaves another question, what is the deal with reputation? Call me Tights!
heelguy Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I wouldn't bother asking about rep.. it's the biggest mystery ever. I had 1 rep point, then had a small disagreement with somebody on here and it got taken away and the little icon thing has been blue ever since! 1
mtnsofheels Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Greetings Tights! Like your introduction stories, awesome that your family is fine with it now. Is that a bugger when you get caught, but at least you were up front about it eventually, makes all the difference. Enjoy the site! Look forward to hearing more from you! Mtnsofheels
